how early in the spring was it? March, April? I start my season April 1 targeting lake trout on lake Ontario northern shore. Spring 2023 noticed increase number of Atlantic salmon cought.
I must admit that I do not. It would be nothing critical for shoreline Browns. I do try very hard to keep reels spooled to capacity. Calibrating reels is much more important in deeper Walleye fishing where the precise positioning of deep running crankbaits is critical.
Speaking of rods, which are they? They don’t look too overbuilt and seem well calibrated for this sort of fishing. Excellent videos btw, always was a fan of Bill Saif, seems the legacy continues! Salutes from Montreal.
2022' Was especially bad for Lamprey Eels! The Canadian DNR is responsible for treating our streams on the U.S. side and with COVID restrictions during 2020 and 2021, they were unable to cross the border! This is just another example of how the Pandemic (real or fictional) had a negative impact...... Hopefully things get straightened around.
Does anyone know what the weight of a #7 tin split shot is? Maybe it's just me but I hate the number system for split shot, I find it much more convenient to just go by the actual weight, not to mention trying to find a size to weight chart is like trying to find a needle in a haystack
I would love to take my dad on a trip like this. Dad introduced me to brown trout fishing in Pepacton Reservoir in 1970.
We can help you with that....
Thank you for being very informative and showing some great fish! Will be watching many more, I hope!
We will keep them coming!
I was literally thinking to myself “damn I would love to see that warrior brown go” sure enough you did! Respect Bill
I felt pretty bad for that fish!
I’ve been using your system on Lake Superior with great success on spring Kings, browns, lakers, splake and steelhead.
Good deal! Glad its working!

Great video as always. Do you calibrate your line counter reels.?

How long are the lures you are using? Are you fast trolling? Great video
Beautiful fish and great show! I'm new but couldn't slamming the fish onto the deck harm the fish? Thanks
How far are your floro leaders from the swivel?
They are the length of the rod. In our case approx 7 ft.
