I got one of the last 24 model year here in Florida. The video you did on your previous bike was spot on as far as getting it to start faster. I did end up sending my suspension in to Factory Connection. I have to tell you that my bike is pretty close to perfect now. Thank you for the videos.
Awesome, I'm glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
What was the trick? We do a quick double tap of the starter if she don’t start and it fires up surprisingly
Nice to finally see the KYB forks with adjusters and congrats on reaching 10K subs!
@@PNWEnduro Thanks Greg!
Great stuff dude. Love hearing these type of reviews from real riders and racers and guys who pay for there bikes. Completely beats the mag shootout videos and raffle channels who spend 10 hours on a bike the sell it.
Praying you have a great year racing and rippin on the new yz.👍
@@Randy_Cox Thanks Randy!
That front fender design has grown on me. The whole bike is beautiful. Nice lines and awesome engineering by Yamaha.
The welds on frame are really tall compared to the previous bikes.
Thanks for the updates!

Sounds like Yamaha knows they have a good engine so no need in messing around with it. For you to say the stock suspension feels pretty good when youre use to a modified setup is refreshing to hear, not everyone wants to spend the money on modifications. Good luck this season.
@@Tankerman Thanks David!
I was able to dremel the seat pan to fit the anti gravity ag801 battery. About 15 minutes work.
I sat on a ‘25 WR250F this past weekend. I know just what I’d do if I bought it.
A good way to soften the seat is to lightly sand the foam. By removing the surface, skin-like, layer you open up the cells and increase the effective surface area which will make the first bit of the foam more compliant, which makes it feel softer. All it costs is a little time and a few staples.
@@peterjennen99 Great tip. Thanks for watching!
Quite the woodsy trail!! Nothing like Wyoming!!
I have to remove my bars on the trail if I want to adjust my fork compression. Needless to say, I never do.
@@fmtnic I can’t believe it took them this long to make that change. Thanks for watching!
You said something in this video that made me wonder. Have you spent any time riding any recent KTMs for comparison? Honest curiosity, I'm not trolling you or setting you up for something lol
@@tkrey23 Yes, I’ve helped a couple of friends set them up for racing after buying them. Most recently a 24 250xc.
@@DirtBikingwithDonnie I've been on KTMs for a long time. I have two 2023's right now. I rode a 21 250fx last fall and was so impressed with how it cornered that I feel I need to buy one for this season to give a yamaha a try! A little hesitant on a few things (cable clutch) but I'm going to do it and give it an honest try! Your comment about yamahas cornering well is what I experienced also. Stock KYB is nice too, though I have very nice suspension on my bikes as well. Thanks for your videos!
I bought a 23 250fx brand new but only had a few rides do to new job and ton hrs and new baby but looking to hit it hard this spring. At 5’9” 160lbs I struggled with the height. My last bike was 07 yz250f and I loved it. Any recommendations on lowering the height.
@@DdDten The best way is to have the suspension lowered internally. Steve at Fastlap can help you with that.
Can someone compare / contrast this with a KTM 350 EXC-F? I have the YZ, want the EXC.
If you want it to stay quiet do not get a powerflow kit just saying it makes it really loud I love it but if you're a quiet kinda guy maybe you won't
Great info! Thanks for watching!
Thoughts on the gytr radiator fan set up? Needed or not needed
@@Brandondroste27 It depends on the type of riding. I will put one on my bike when I find one. On my last the the fan came on regularly during summer rides/races.
On my 21' the fan is absolutely a necessity for slower riding with the gf, rocky slow technical trails, and hot summer days.
I strongly dislike the yamaha 250 for offroad. The gears are very close together, the stock clutch is a cable clutch, and I find the 250 power totally inadequate after being on a 350 for several years. I hated the 2019-2023 chassis as it got me in trouble in the woods a number of times. That chassis can be made to turn, but it never likes to turn. The GYTR brembo clutch is the way to go for manual clutch guys. Faster guys tend not to like the 2025 chassis as much in the desert, The new chassis is a much easier to turn, but I just dont mesh with it.
