Thanks for taking the time to make this video -- No, it wasn't too long (I find details and personality important) and I found it quite informative. Keep up the great work, it's appreciated.
i was confused, i mean "best unboxing"? really? (nothing against this tutorial, but there's thousands of unboxings, little chance this is the best) but then I saw that this comment was posted 13 years ago and that checks out
Hey man, can I charge the camera with just the battery in it and the cable? Because I have a cable that fits but it's for a Kodak but the camera shows no signs of chsrging?
Can you tell my how I can get my polaroid pogo to hook to my camera the S8100. It is not hooking to the pickbridge? Does thi camera have this function?? If so how can get it to work. Any help would be great.
The unit you describe in your video for the Nikon Coolpix S8100 as a "wall charger" has the appropriate connectors on the backside which the user must, physically, move to the 90-degree angle. Please, don't ask me to explain the engineering(maybe packaging) but, it works well on any wall socket in my home.
Multi shot 16 is required for photo ....u take a photo and print it and then cut them to get individual photos rather than going to a photo studio to click photos (eg.for school use)
i bought the s8100 couple weeks ago and I'm enjoying it. Have you gotten used to it now, and what are your thoughts on it now that you've played around with it more?
Great first demo of the camera's features. Sorry to hear about your other cameras, but it happens. It looks like a nice camera and I hope it works out for you. I also have a thing for red devices, and that camera definitely caught my eye. Looking forward to more!
Let me correct you on a couple things. On your 16gb card, it does not only have the capability to record 29 minutes of full HD. It can only record 29 minutes at a time in full HD. And yes, this camera does have video macro, as I use it almost every day.
Check your charger again. It seems that there is a retractable plug and that you can be plug it into a wall socket. I don't believe any camera manufacturer would have a USB only charging system. Nice video. Thanks!
@ThoughtsMedia But ... it IS essentially an external wall charger. It works no differently! I think it's pretty cool because I can use my PC to charge it and transfer pictures at the same time, or take the wall charger with me for charging on the go.
Hello, I am going to buy this camera S8100, but many people are complaining about that it has problem in video recording when we zoom i in video mode. and also the focus problem. So some people are saying that S9100 will resolve this problem. What you guys think? as you know better.
whats the difference of Nikon Coolpix S8100 and Nikon Coolpix S8000? is Nikon Coolpix p7000 better than Nikon Coolpix S8100 and Nikon Coolpix S8000 or they are both the same
I was wondering how you edit the video clips you shoot with this camera. I noticed the camera will not allow me to edit middle parts of the video I shoot. It only seems to allow me to clip (erase) the begninng or end portion of the video. I was hoping you could help me by letting me know if the option on the camera of cutting out the middle portions is possible. Thanks, I'm just getting started with making videos. Great review!
@ThoughtsMedia Thanks for your prompt reply. I apologize for the confusion regarding the charging unit. but, it may have been more helpful to the average novice to have you, visually, demonstrate the pop out charger unit prongs in your video.and, more carefully, explain your concerns. Other than that, I found your critique to be very helpful and informative. I just purchased this camera and was, initially, confused about that charger unit. I figured it out but, Granny may not.
@ThoughtsMedia Oh, I finally get what you're saying. :) I agree that this would be a nice feature, especially if you had a spare battery. Since I will probably never own two, I'm quite all right with this method. I like how I can simultaneously charge the battery and transfer pictures to my PC.
@stevebevan40 ive tried it--its great and does everything automatically on the software you install on computer. Shame you cant do it directly on camera but the software is incredibly accurate
I love this color! So much better in red than black. Gotta get this before I have prom! :) Thanks for this video

@ThoughtsMedia It actually does have a Fireworks shooting mode that works quite well. It sets the AF to infinite.
