So sorry obi
Cody has always been a follow the rules soldier like obi wan and rex has had opposing views from the republic from time to time like Anakin

The "what have I done" line was the Clone Wars actor, the rest was Hayden
Sam Bowman yeah. I noticed it was Matt Lanter. Lol.
Yeah, Hayden said it differently
Yeah it was, and to be honest it really sounded closer to Hayden surprisingly
Yeah I wonder why they had Lanter do that line.

@Da Ol didn't have much choice ?

yah they all loved her and she did back aswell
Da Ol Yeah but as soon as she tackled Rex they had already started blasting at her.
@PurpleOwlAnimation Since Anakin was the best at bolt deflection, she also got skilled at it.
Execute Order 66
Rex: Is crying and fighting with his feelings
Cody: Blast him
Jason Heidenfelder That’s Cody for ya😂
Cody's commander was Obi-Wan and his way of always going by the book and rules clearly rubbed on the clone. Cody had no chance to resist.
@@masterexploder9668 Exactly this. Cody is loyal to the republic no matter what unfortunately.

Maul brutally slaughters a hallway of clones...
Me: Best kids show ever
I know it's not technically a kid show y'all, it's a joke
Cyril Smith VA good old clone wars
Clone wars isn’t a kids show the show is for everyone
Lol. I mean, it WAS on CN so the target audience was always early to mid teenagers. Not exactly "kids".
Not exactly a 'kid's show'.
Maul went full magneto
The moment Order 66 drops in that scene...just the way Rex is shaking, you can tell that with every fiber of his being...he's trying to resist, and I think the fact that he drops his helmet...is very telling. Because that reflects his years of service with the 501'st. The years he fought side, by side with Anakin, and Ahsoka...and this order..is a dishonor to that service...and he feels he's not worthy to wear the helm any longer. And the tears that fall from his eyes...he hates what he's doing, but he can't help it. And in regards to Commander Wolfe, when he first lays eyes on Kenan, and Ezra...and he raises his blaster rifle, exclaiming "It's the Jedi! They've come for revenge!" and he opens fire, but it takes Rex intervening to stop him. And Wolfe is also the one, whom alerts the Empire to Kenan, and Ezra's location...all to save his brothers.
Technically Rex didn’t really betray her. He got her a warning before the order took over, and he didn’t even hurt her before his chip was removed. Not to mention he’s going to help her escape. Also, I’m willing to bet telling himself he never completed the order helped him cope with what happened over the years.
TheOtakuWithHazelEyes facts bro, his chip forced him to do it, u can tell his hesitation when he started saying “Find him, Fives” but his Chip Forces him to do it, and he did save her at the end by killing those clones, so technically he didn’t betray her
The intent was there for all of them wether they meant it or not. Rex complied albeit shortly.
Yeah, while they certainly stretched the truth of Rex's comment in Rebels, having him set Ahsoka on the path to remove his chip and being able to stop himself from firing at first does make it still more or less fit as not being an actual betrayal.
Rex said “yes lord sidious” because just as he gives him the orders Rex realizes based on what he learned in this arc that Sidious has been the chancellor all along. No other clone troopers say that, just “yes my lord”. What’s even cooler that Filoni incorporated Sidious reacting to Rex knowing this with a brief pause before cutting transmission.
I'm not sure. He didn't care in the end because he (tried to) carry out the order
@Warhead2220
Yeah, I agree.
I think its also partly because of Rex's strong will that, subconsciously, he refuses to recognize anyone except the Jedi as his Lord or master because of how close he was with them and how detached he was from the Chancellor. Every other clone says "... my Lord" but Rex is different and they made a point in the shot to show that. Just food for thought
That's the sith version of "The FUCK?"
Notice how after this none of the clone take off the helmets. Meaning their humanity is gone.
I think removing their helmets was something that only Anakin's unit really did since he was one of the few Jedi that actually cared about his troops and treated them more like people instead of just expendable clones which led them to see themselves as such. Which is one of the main reasons that his unit was the strongest.
This is also reinforced by that scene in episode 3 where Anakin wants to go help out one of the pilots at the beginning but is stopped by Obi-Wan.
In the bad batch trailer clones are walking around in white armor with their helmets on and walking through a cheering croud while also showing no attention towards the croud, they're becoming just like the Stormtroopers :(
@@CallMeKevan also, lots of battalions took off their helmets, 212, 104th, 91st recon, Coroscaont gaurd.
The fact that they’re wearing the Ashoka helmets makes it even more sad.
I thought it couldn’t get worse than the Episode III sequence. I was wrong.
He wasn’t just crying for Ashoka, it was also for fives sacrifice and that no one listened to him when he was right.
He was definitely crying that he was being forced to shoot Ashoka you’re high on ketamine Yoda..
It was def cause of Ahsoka
“Just” being the key word there, sure he was struggling for several reasons: Ashoka, fives, the struggle to resist the chip
Taylor Beatty yeah, he was also kinda yelling find him, find FIVES.
Trevor white .mmmmm high I am, crying because right fives was and now shoot Ahsoka he must, hmmmm yes.
That maul hallway scene was brutal and incredible, almost on the same level as the vader hallway scene
ʙ ᴀ ꜱ ʜ ッ
I love that scene, is just shows how powerful Maul is and just how he sees them as no more threatening than a bug (which is why he’s walking)
I also love the scene that Maul opens his eyes and you hear the voices, this is by far one of the best episodes ever

Yea no

"You must choose!"
The three words that absolutely obliterated everyone's minds.
Fun fact, during the scene where Ahsoka senses Anakin betraying Mace, most of the lines are straight from the film, but the "What have I done?" line was actually a mix between Hayden's original performance and a new recording by Matt Lanter.

@@DougieD_Funk Use your ears dude
JaL90 yea see, you’re saying it as if it’s fact and I’m not so sure it is. But I’m sure Dave will say soon.
It sounds like Matt Lanter only is my point. But Arrite I guess we’ll see.
@@DougieD_Funk It is a fact, I can clearly tell it's Matt Lantern's voice in "what have I done".
It's both hayden and Matt that said WHAT HAVE I DONE
Yeah you could also see it in the credits that both Hayden and Matt did the voice.. so yeah you are right
Seeing Rex hold on just a little longer than the other clones is what makes him the truest friend to Ashoka, Cody would have killed her in a heartbeat...also that Maul scene
@Nicholas Piechocki, for three years, Rex is close to Anakin and Ahsoka and considers them as his friends and comrades. His will is far more stronger than any of his brothers, but it hurt him to kill his brothers in order to survive.
Yoda - "Failed I have"
When he said that he didn't only mean failing to kill Sidious, but failing as a Grand Master of the Jedi Order. Near the end of the Clone Wars, Yoda started to realize many errors of their ways but deep down he knew it was too late to fix things. Not to mention the Dark Side of the Force blocking the Jedi's foresight. I think at many times he wanted to help Anakin and understand him. Same here with Ahsoka, he feels bad about what happened and wants to be there for her but doesn't know how to do that or the fact that time had ran out.
As for Windu, he just doomed the Order with his arrogance. Although Windu is a noble Jedi Master, who cares about life and individual people (he has been shown to care for his Clones WAY more than Obi-Wan and other Jedi do), his dabbling in bureaucracy and politics made him too arrogant in social situations
Ugh, ikr. If Windu didn't say that condescending statement to Ahsoka, she might have told them that Anakin was the target of the plan and maybe they could have reversed their decision to send Anakin to spy on Palpatine. Damnit, this is why it's bad to be petty sometimes. He ruined their entire Order with just one line.
@@Greggery Exactly. It's kind of a real life lesson too, sometimes saying a negative remark with no real need to, can lead to either creating your own enemies/demons or destroying possible alliances in the future

Could you imagine watching this if starwars rebels was not released?! I would be on the edge of my seat just to see if Ashoka would survive!
well you got your : Damn she survived ??? How ??? Moment just a few years earlier nothing lost ^^
6:47 Sadly, yes. And what were the words she told him then? "I won't leave you. Not this time". Makes you wonder if that's what Ahsoka wanted to tell Anakin back in the previous episode.
These episodes does well at explaining why she felt guilty. She feels like she could have prevented it and these episodes show she kept doubting the possibility of Anakin's fall.
@@AndrewInmanartist yes. I think it's one of the defining point of Rebels Ahsoka: the immense guilt she carries with her. It's why I believe her survival against Vader is so important (unlike some who say she should have died, when it would have served no use in the story), because she has to accept the one lesson that Anakin could not: to let go. But at the same time, it's tragic, because in a way it means that, by letting go of this bond and faith she had in Anakin, she also has to let go of who she was in The Clone Wars. Perhaps that is what the Bendu meant when he told her that this confrontation would bring "change" and "death": not a physical death, but the death of a part of herself.
When u realize today is Gigi Bryant’s birthday and they gave her a little cameo by being named after the droid
Bobby Shmurda *Sadness*
I noticed the symbolic irony of the helmets which were painted to look like Ahsoka. Just two episodes ago, the clones were saluting Ahsoka because “loyalty means everything to the clones”, yet in this episode they are trying to kill her while wearing them. It’s really really sad honestly.
It was Hayden Christensen for that voice over scene from episode 3 but Matt Lanter added in the last line "What have I done?!" Which was awesome in my opinion. It was like bringing the two Anakins together like how they finally brought Clone Wars into the live action universe in this episode. It's crazy how the Clone Wars is so good that it makes the prequel movies better. Literally everyone in this show has been improved including Anakin. Personally I didn't like Hayden Christensen as Anakin even watching episode 3 the first time as a kid. but Clone Wars is what got me into Star Wars in the first place and now Matt Lanter's Anakin actually has made me enjoy Hayden's Anakin more. Because even though one is clearly done better they're still the same character in a continuous story line just like how the James Earl Jones' Darth Vader is Anakin also. they're all the same guy in the story, even though I feel some are more entertaining than the others.
7:02 is that ursa wren? sabine's mother? she was a nite owl and part of death watch right
Yes
I love how he says about Maul "He'll be fine" like a responsible yet agitated mom
He tried to resist it, just for a moment to warn Ahsoka.
I love how only the most badass sith get hallway scenes 😂 Vader’s scene in Rogue One is brutal and desperate. But Mauls scene is just him being absolutely unconcerned with the danger around him as he goes full star killer, using the hallway as his weapon. Not to mention his slow walking pace as he does it, love Maul man❤️
Anyone notice when Rex was given the order he cried because he didn’t want to kill his friend but couldn’t fight it
YEAH it was like he was fighting it so so so hard that he could barely speak, he was shaking like someone else was forcibly trying to push his fingers to pull the trigger. The other clones just switched right away but Rex was self aware enough, image how terrifying it must have been for him, almost like Spider Mans "Mr Stark, I dont feel so good" he knew what was happening and felt powerless to fight it. Also Rex knew RIGHT AWAY what this was and that it had to do with what Fives told him
Jesus Christ I’m going to end myself, I cannot stop rewatching it
Man how quiet it was, so eerie.
10:36 I like how they used Anakins Dark Deeds for these particular scene. It fits so well and it really hits you in the feels when you see that Ahsoka is now forced to fight against the clones; men who she's fought side by side for years...we're in the endgame now.
I believe The droid GG was a tribute to GiGi Bryant, nice touch Filoni
I loved the Ursa Wren(without helmet) cameo. So many references indeed.
The music used when the clones first attack Ashoka is also in the 'Decieved' trailer for Star Wars The Old Republic, which showed the first time the republic fell, hearing it again with order 66 is so awesome
What does that mean In the old republic deceived
I love watching how excited Bendu is and seeing Kyle's shocked face. When I saw this episode I was a mixture of both.
SUCH A FRICKEN AWESOME EPISODE!!!!
Darth Sidious: Execute Order 66
Rex Expectation: "lol nope" hangs up
Rex Actually: Yes Lord
Me: NOOOOOO
Man the silence leading up to Order 66 was so heartbreaking because you know it’s coming
When Maul had that mask over his face and it was removed, I was half expecting him to say {in my Anthony Hopkins voice} "Hello Clarice". My mind was blown by that episode. Just awesome. I am going to watch it again.
I love how Rex is trying to disobay the order
Man Sidious is truly the Mastermind, the Jedi and clones became such good friends that when order 66 no Jedi saw it coming. It is really insidious when you think about it.
Ironic loyalty is everything to the clones but it is to palpatine like tech said clones are programmed to be good soliders follow orders
Vader: I have the best hallway scene
Maul: Hold my Lightsaber
Vader: What!??
Everyone could sense the tension. Filoni did such a great job with the details and music to build up to this tragic moment.
Yes that was the last time Ashoka talked to Anakin until Twilight of the Apprentice because she said in Rebels “The last time I saw Anakin he was rushing off the save the chancellor”
It was the audio from revenge of the sith in the background.
Anyone notice the Mandalorian device Maul was in glowed bright red when he was in it and then right before him and Ahsoka part ways (at 14:58 in the episode), it remains dark; as if the device kind of drains a Force wielder of their connection to the force/access to abilities/powers rendering them harmless in the device and then when freed, they regain their connection to/ability to use the Force. I don't know, just theorizing.
Rex was like the other clones but not fully. He resisted the order for a few seconds. Halting the clones behind ahsoka saying he would do it, then tipping her off about fives. You can see him shaking and crying before he shoots because he is trying to delay it. It's good to see that he isn't put on a big pedastool but he is treated differently which is in itself incredible given he shares the dna of all the clones. Cody didn't hesitate on shooting down Kenobi let's remember. Rex is a badass
"Take the orange helmets off you fucking traitors"

Amazing Reaction, encapsulates a majority of what I was going through during the episode, the tension of knowing what’s to come...but not being ready for it, absolutely amazing episode, and I will argue that every single one of the Siege of Mandalore episodes are the best episodes of Clone Wars.
Next one comes out Monday May 4th, I’m hyped for what comes next.
I loved that Ahsoka reunited with her droid, R7 😂
I just finished the episode and cried when Rex cried, that was brutal, what a perfect episode
You guys could always watch the credits you know to check the voice cast. And yes, that was Hayden we heard in the first part of the vision.
16:05 I was worried about that too. It's really great that they didn't do that. I believe Rex only managed to resist it because he knows about the chips and because he knows the order is wrong. His willpower is just the same as any other clone.
Heads up by the way, next episode is on monday the 4th, starwars day :)
Commander Cody, the time has come...
… Execute Order 66.
It will be done my lord.
It's actually "yes my lord"
The "it will be done my lord" quote is from Commander Gree and Commander Jag, who killed Plo Koon in the battle of Cato Neimoidia
@@kevinkovacs4815 Jag's rank is actually captain.
I find it interesting that Palpatine used Cody’s chosen name now that I think about it.
He could have just said “Commander, the time has come” or, though a lot less likely in my opinion, used his number.
I guess it could have been part of the act of being a kind emperor since I don’t see him as caring about the clones’ wishes and name preferences. Actually, “the time has come” implies he was expecting this thus I doubt the conversation was recorded to meet public eyes... interesting.
The Briefing scene in the beginning is a direct overlap from episode III actually. It’s basically just an extended version
When he said OG battlefront medical droid! Man those things were clutch sometimes!
Not in a week.... MONDAY! In three days... It is all over!
I am surprised you didnt make mention of the music (aside from what track it was) , from when the shuttle took off, to the bridge scene, to 66 being called and how the talking dialogue was very minimal. It was very reminiscent of when Anakin was sitting in the temple, and Mace went to confront Palpatine...There were little to no words, but the tension was increased because of the music!
They used Hayden's lines at first but it was Matt Lanter who said "what have I done?"
All those movie clips were from ROTS except “What have I done!?” which was a mix of Matt and Hayden
I literally gasped when Palpy told the clones to execute order 66
I need more Maul. That scene was amazing
he said "I feel it in the force" so dead serious lmaooo
The GG astromech is named after Gigi Bryant. Her birthday was May 1st which this episode aired on
I love how the music used to in the lead up Order 66 is very reminiscent of the music used when Anakin was waiting in the council chambers after Mace went to confront Palpatine
10:46 that was Jesse right there
The way they intertwined the prequels with the clone wars is incredible writing acrobatics. Bravo!

Captain Rex wasn't himself when Order 66 was enacted because of the inhibitor chip. It makes the clones behave like a droid with no freewill. This is why Rex was hesitant when he almost killed Ahsoka but he did give her a hint and some little time escape. The writing is flawless.
I'm going to predict that I'm going to meet Bail Organa in a few days.
Ahsoka: Rex you just killed your brothers
Rex: Meh I got a million of em
The song you were thinking of is called Padmé's Ruminations and yes, listening to it side by side it is similar in so many ways including the single monotone note through all of the sequence
The clone trooper who gets Impaled by part of the wall is Ridge who was a clone trooper in torrent company with Rex on Teth in the movie and Plo Koon was shot down by Captain Jag
Until I'm told otherwise I'm going to assume Chirrut Imwe learned that chant from Ahsoka after maybe having met her sometime during the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
I think when they’re taking Maul from Mandalore, the song is a version of Padme’s Ruminitions from ROTS.
8:31
Actually, it’s “Padmé’s Ruminations.”
From the scene where Anakin and Padmé both have that quiet moment of despair on Coruscant before Anakin goes to save Palpatine.
bro i swear that dude on the left is hyping me up.
he has so mutch engergy for star wars i love it!! 😂
I just now realized that moment when Ashoka starts to fight clones at that console, music is from old republic trailer - deceived
1 Maul needs a forking brutal counter. 2 I loved how they incorporated music and clips from ROTS. 3 The feeling of dread was HORRIBLE . 4 Sam as Maul when he realizes the intricacies of his former Master's plan was almost giddy. 5 THAT'S HOW THEY END IT. 6 there should be a badass good girl and badass bad guy wins
Idk if you noticed. But when Maul impales the one clone to the wall with the panel, that was Ridge. Ridge was in the Clone Wars movie in the Battle of Teth, you see him in the gunship “ Ridge you got coms static- got it”
7:00 Yes, Anakin and Ahsoka's last convo was when she got her sabers and the clones. I assume they won't meet again until the Rebels s3 finale.
Wolfe didn’t kill his Jedi general as Plo Koon was killed in his starship which was something Wolfe did not do. It is expected that he was on the group leading a squad
That is Chopper. In Rebels he crash in a Y wing and Hera found him and rebuild him
That carving on the prison box which hold Maul, is of Revan durring the great mandalorian war!! Dave Filloni made Revan CANON!!!!!! You can even see him holding Mandalores mask before taking it as his own! At first I tought that it was Tar Vizsla, but Bo said it was designed for force using maniacs, but Tar with his Dark Saber are symbols of Mandalore, The person in the middle of the carving even has Revans original jedi knight outfit!! And all the Old Republic styled Mandalorian helmets looking at one man holding a mask of Mandalore!!! REVAN IS CANON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dave Filloni you beautifull, BEAUTIFULL bastard!!!
Well, I’ll be the first to admit it. I was wrong last episode. I was fully convinced we were further into the events of Revenge of the Sith than we were. With that out of the way, I’m very curious how Wolffe and Gregor end up with Rex. Wolffe almost certainly didn’t remove his chip yet, and last we saw Gregor he was presumed KIA. Hopefully they touch on that next episode. And regarding your questions about the chips, they stayed active after Order 66. There’s no shut off for them. Clones that kept their chips in stayed fiercely loyal to the Empire.
