One of my son Daniel's fave songs, I miss my son so much when I hear this song. Last week was the 6th anniversary of my son's death, he was 31 when he passed. He used to really crank this song up, he loved the lead singer's sharp intelligence and education and his social commentary through some badass punk music!
One of the greatest punk rock band of all time. already being in their 50's, putting a show like this is fucking great. Also, lead singer - Greg Graffin obtained his PhD in zoology at Cornell University and has lectured courses in natural sciences at both the University of California, Los Angeles and at Cornell University. Smart man in a punk band - you can't have better than this :D
Yeah being as old as they are they are not as fast BUT many of these older guys have slowed down but still kick ass. Social Distortion is in the same boat, no longer as fast BUT still release great albums when they di
Classic bad religion song, I think this is the first song of BR that I'm listening do to Eddie Vedder involvement as backing vocal in this song and another in the Recipe for Hate album. Beside their lyric, BR also known for their good harmony, really shine in the studio version.
Love that you did another Bad Religion song. Probably my favorite band of all time. It seems you don't get into lyrics much. Because BR is one of the best lyrical bands ever. Yeah, I feel comfortable saying that.😅 If you did lyrical breakdown stuff you'd need longer than 2 mins. I totally get it though. Good reaction. Maybe do Generator or Stranger than Fiction or Tiny Voices by them. Album versions. If you love bass guitar, maybe a punk band you might want to try is Rancid. Matt Freeman is an amazing bassist.
Try Punk from Germany. 🤔🎸 :"Slime-mea culpa" (about sexual abuse, to children by church members here in germany😡).. /or.. :"Broilers-meine Sache" (my Business).. Enjoy
I used to see these guys when I wasn't old enough to drive. I'm always so happy when one of the OG's gets some success after years of working hard for it. Social Distortion is another band that slogged it out. Thanks for this!!
Do you think metal and punk are generally inverse of each other? As in metal =complex musicianship with simpler lyrics and themes and punk=simple music with complex lyrics and themes?
Bad Religion are as cool as fast and short :-) I saw them unfortunately only one time live: Go Bang Festival in Bremen / Germany. That was back in 1992. One song that is making me energetic every time: 21st Century Digital Boy. Do you know this song or did you react to it? My favorite BR song by far :-)
Thought you'd rank that performance quite lower ! You've witnessed their latest era, this song is nearly 30 years old héhéhé. Also, quite surprised you've never heard that one before. Anyway ! Don't remember what other Bad Religion you did, but you have to at least listen to Stranger Than Fiction, Atomic Garden and Infected, in my opinion. Other gems, for sure, but those would be my top 3 for you.
I saw them twice years back on Warped Tour and even then they were more into playing and some energy BUT I didn’t find their crowd engagement outside of Greg that great. I noticed they watch each other more for changes
@@chrisdriver7776 You might want to look up the definition of the term before using it. I hear a lot of people parroting terms they heard or read that were initially misused and then they parrot it without understanding it. Sounds like that's what happened here. Have a good one.

They may have lost a few BPM over the past 40 YEARS, but, who wouldn't! Still does the job...

They’ve been a band for over 42 years, so the fact that they were moving around on stage at all is impressive.

"American Jesus" was the song that got me into BAD RELIGION. Not really a Punk guy, but I love them.
Damn good band.

Certain elements are undeniably inversions of each other, but other elements are totally and completely different.
Generator and 21st Century Digital Boy .
Broken and I Love My Computer are great too

Not familiar with the song, and it's not in the que.
@@THEDavidHeretic You might have a listen for yourself. I love it. Got it already stuck in my head again, without even having listened to it again 🤪
Music doesn’t need to be complicated to be great. Just ask pantera. Biggest metal band ever and their biggest hit was walk which has like 3 chords.

Good
What about the bloody lyrics, mate?!
I'm pretty sure that singer sold me life insurance last week.
He actually works as a professor at ucla. :)
@@FrancoUnAmericano how counter-cultural.

Do you just love every comment without reading it?
Nope I read every single comment. If it gets a heart, that means I read it.
Awesome

Dont care if you react to it because tons of people will be triggered
Listen to it on your own time
Is " We Built This City" the worse song ever?
@@trumphatesyou From Starship? I dunno if it's THE worst song ever written....but it's definitely up there.
