"I AM SOMEBODY” is a short film that addresses the stigma of mental disorders and suicide ideation of teen males within the African American community.
Jaquez has finally decided to carry out his suicide plan shortly after his birthday party. Friends and family remain in the secure confines of oblivion as the warning signs reveal themselves in plain sight. If only they knew what to look and listen for. Here we convey some suicide ideation warning signs, and statistics as it relates to African American males; as well as some resources for anyone considering suicide or may know of somebody seeking help and hope.
