Always preferred adidas personally for competing in the amateurs, sting are good too but they’re just a bit too stiff in the knuckle, adidas are a bit softer, still provide great protection for puncher and punchee 😂 but just have a better feel as you say. They’re that touch softer in the knuckles
Sting are the current incumbent for boxing at the Olympics as well (well, if we even get boxing at the Olympics in future…) Would be interesting to see if you can try some green hills and top tens as well (always remind me of 90s amateur boxing), although I have a suspicion that you’ve already got the 2 best pairs out there at the minute with the adidas and the sting gloves
The WSB had some interesting amateur gloves - like the Cubans had the full suite of Puma gloves, vests and boots (before moving on to sting gloves too) - don’t ever remember seeing any of them available to purchase anywhere though. Guess it was the result of some deal with the Cuban amateur association.
Idk if you take requests or not but it’d be really cool if you could make a video on your top 5 Mexican made fight gloves. I’ve been really getting into the Mexican gloves and wanted to see how the Everlast Elite pro and Mx Pro (both gloves I own) compare to grant, Reyes, etc.
Hi , thanks for all the boxing content you always provide and advices, sorry for being completely off topic but for the internal material considering a classic cheek helmet , what would you suggest between these ? Real leather - Synthetic Leather / PU - Polyester or Suede? ( the last material i guess is like the one you can find in the Leone helmets for example ) . I was thinking that suede is the best and then polyester for the attrition of the material to your face, unlike leather that when you sweat will become slippery and you will have more chance for the helmet to move, am I wrong? Thank you!
also where did u buy your sting gloves from sting website or boxfit or anything beacouse i bought my sting gloves of boxfit and they came faulty and bad stitching and the sting logo was slanted to the left@@Fit2Box
Sting has some kind of contract with USA Boxing as well. They’re not required for club shows but they are used for all national level competitions. The monopoly they have going is a bit annoying, the gloves are not that good, and definitely overpriced.
Probably because it would take forever to get them on and off. Got a lot of fights on some amateur cards, getting through them in terms of time is potentially a factor.
@@gloverdragon6854 if you’re a serious amateur gym then you would be an advocate for lace ups, it doesn’t take long at all to put on. In any competition setting you should be using lace up gloves. I’m sure amateur boxers and coaches would agree on this as well.
@@tekkn_579 I move around the London amateur boxing scene. Been to many amateur gyms. They would not advocate for lace ups. Not watched this video yet, but I can tell you from my own experience the sting amateur glove is better than the adidas, never used the adidas amateur glove but I have used the sting. The sting glove is pretty deadly for an amateur glove, it’s shape is is more streamlined, which results in a quicker deliver of a punch, it lands with authority and I’ve seen it put people down and be stopped. It’s a very GOOD glove! Now on yo actually watch this review. Maybe I’m wrong about the adidas, maybe it beats sting. On a side note, the haringey box cup event uses sting gloves…well they did in the 2016 cup. Maybe they’ve swapped to another glove now.
@@callumsweeney6274 not using the adidas is something I openly stated. The sting glove was so good that I can’t see the adidas beating it. I could be wrong, if I was to try the adidas glove it may be better. Its ok if I’m wrong, pal. They’re only boxing gloves 😂
It’s amateur boxing… we’re not looking for a “deadly” glove. By that logic some knuckle dusters are the premier amateur boxing glove so kids can now un-alive each other 😂🤦🏼♂️
@@KirbyJ89 wether you like it or not some people want a more authoritative feedback from the glove when it lands. For a more deadlier landing punch. Even in amateur boxing. no headgear for men

I would think they are in USA

To get used to the feel of them yes
Sting just created a monopolį for competition gloves and is taking advantage of it
Why don’t they use laced gloves in the amateurs? You don’t really get the wrist support with them strapped gloves that you do with lace up gloves.
Yes I totally agree

Wait you guys compete in 8oz and 10oz gloves in the amateurs? I thought amateurs compete in 16 oz
