you have shown us plenty of custom maps for this mod but there is something about this one that just makes it so awsome. the layers, the detail maybe, even the scale of this map makes my favorite ps: keep up the good work!!!
an hour long recreation of the battle where the witch king finally destroyed arthedain and by extension all of arnor? hold one one second while i go down to the shop to get some popcorn
Man these custom scenarios by Paladinbob are my favorite! All I could think of when you panned over the map in the beginning was "Oh sweet jesus YES!" Awesome battle, awesome commentary Pixie.
Finally! This is exactly the historical battle i'd been waiting and hoping for! Thank you so much. Might I suggest the battle of the Field of Celebrant?
Who’s here during lockdown revisiting their favourite scenarios? This battle is absolutely stunning btw. Everything from the map to the golden, evening sunshine was glorious
It was so frustrating watching the defenders just waste their elves and dwarves, they were trying to defend too much, if they just defended the 2nd and 3rd chokepoints, they couldve won.
Andi Tan It would have been so boring if they had done that though, because the front half of the brilliantly crafted map would have been wasted, and it would have just been a massive grind fest It is annoying though that defenders lose so often
32:00 around there with my orc band, I got very bored and decided to have my orc band entertain me. We were all laughing at them- but my scouts did kill a few Anuminas knights, much to the rage of Synn. :D
+paladinbob 123 I think I saved around 200-400 men doing that, even the day. My favorite move by far overall was that last flank by Deluxe and also you pushing up those siege towers. Those two really stopped the art and arches from slaughtering my reserves. Overall, great ending!
+Synn “of the” DarkCloud it was tough to defend, watching it really made me realize that. Of course, what we were talking about in game also led to the defeat... lol.
wrong. Black Numenorians are from have of Umbar which is south of Middle-earth. Angmar is in the north of Middle-earth. Armies were mostly comprised of orcs and evil men from Rhudaur(formely an Arnorian kingdom)
+Pixelated Apollo Pixie what's you're favorite faction in lotr and the hobbit? mine is HARADRIM WARRIORS!!! btw I chose Hell no let them die cuz I like the bad guys >:3
aragorns ancestor was Aranarth son of Arvedui the last king of Arnor and he indeed ascaped this battle with his father. but the father would drown soon in the icebay of Forochel afterwards and so Aranarth was the last of the royal dynasty left.
Hi there! Something i'd really like to see in third age is a historical battle series with reversed roles of good and bad, for example: Helm's Deep Uruks defend, Rohan attacks, Rhun's cavalry come to save the defenders and trolls come instead of Ents. At Minas Tirith you have orcs defending agains't the hordes of Gondor, with rhunic cav coming instead of rohan and elven archer cav instead of Mumakils, instead of the ghost army coming to save gondor you have a swarm of nazgûls/black nümenorians/mumakils coming as the last ditch effort to save the defenders. I think it would be really fun to see!!!!!
Defenders snatched defeat from the jaws of victory here. Witnessing the inaction of the catapults when they had a solid mass of targets was more tense than watching the Helms Deep/Minas Tirith sieges in the films.
yeah this was a nice fight....and a nicely narrated battle from Apollo :D..as per the note about the wargs [21:57] ...I believe wargs don't seem to be that great in hth and I also worried why they where not so hot in combat...but upon checking the replay myself found they where being shot by the hobbit archers[front wall] and the heavy arnor archer[upper town wall] and thus where destroyed by arrows :d ...thus I think the same fate of my trolls perhaps as well , so some nice crossfire there :D
i came in my pants great job apollo, continue with the good work, can you please do more videos of you and paladin bob maybe, they were always my favorite and probably the most exciting videos that you have on you're channel and there might be some people that agree with me.
I don't wanna nerd out too much, but basically the witch king subverted the hill men of Rhudaur (the weakest of the three northern kingdoms after the split of Arnor). They're a bit like the wild men of Dunland I suppose.
The custom scenarios are just so epic that they help me come up with ideas for battles in my book in progrss, I hope you dont mind that I take some ideas from your videos apollo.
Also there was a succession struggle in Arnor that led to it splitting into the three kingdoms of Arthedain, Cardolan and Rhudaur. But the men of Rhudaur were more made up of wildmen and natives than Dunedain, which were most numerous in Arthedain. So the men of Rhudaur betrayed Arnor (what was left of it) and joined the Witch King, which explains the presence of a lot of men of Rhudaur. Not sure about the Dwarves though.
I like watching the 'good forces' outnumbered and holding on trying to turn it around too, but just once....I'd like to see the humans/elves win over the orcs.
Actually Angmar had lot's of men under it's banner and not only from Rhudaur but also from Angmar, and no it's not black Numenoreans but native Hillmen to the lands of Angmar. Surely there were no dwarves at that battle (I don't remember if elves were there so I canot tell the truth) about the hobbits they never arrived to Fornost, the Arnorians never experienced their arrival which probably means that they were caught by some Angmarim warband. Still a very cool battle, would like to see more custom scenarios
the men in the army was probably to signify Rhudar which was mostly destroyed by angmar. The Rhudar remaining helped angmar because of their hate towards arthedain and cardolan for giving them only the cold rocks of the north and small settlements.
Another great battle, though I think the defenders could indeed have held with better tactics, notably at the mountain choke point. Nice cycle charges though!
The plague on Cardolan and Arthedain, was not a coincidence; the Witch King and Sauron were behind that too. Between Third Age 1300 and 1974 the Witch King wouldn't leave Arnor alone. 674 of constant, attrition and chipping away at Arnor's strength. A slow, cold and heartless death. When Fornost Erain fell, the streets ran with blood and the bodies were thick on the ground. The citadel burned and a northern gem of Middle Earth was lost. Aragorn II Elessar, King of the Reunited Kingdoms, would reforge Arnor from its long absence.
I'm fairly certain there were few, if any, Black Numenoreans in Angmar, which was the kingdom the Witch King was king of. He mostly ruled over orcs and the men of Rhudar, who though descended from the men of Numenor were not technically Numernoreans.
+atreides213 the hillmen of Rhudaur were mixblood. part mountian tribes northern relatives of the dunlendings part arnorian but there were never black numenorians in angmar except the wichking and his fellow friends from Mordor and Umbar
Since the Witch King came from Angmar and not Mordor, it is actually pretty logical, that a lot of his forces consisted of humans. The men of Rhudaur and the Black Numenoreans had been fighting Arnor for a long time, and these were actually his elite forces. The rabble of goblins from Gundabad and the Misty Mountains were his meat shields.
listen Pixalated Apollo, can you do some more siege battles, or some videos with Fornost? It will be great if you could, thank you, you are the best youtuber for me, really!!!! KEEP UO THE GOOD WORK! 😄😉🙌🙌👋👋👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What? I simply inferred that the Witch-King's use of humans might not have been connected to how he himself was a human (or once was). I mean, Morgoth and Sauron used many humans, and were they human?
yeah it was based on a comicbook made by the French , I believe..although is rare for a translation in English :D....they made a cpu game which has some great background music :D
I can't stand defenders making such obvious and frequent mistakes. you are already 2 vs 3 and heavily outnumbered...this almost looks like match fixing
Yeah , I always loved that idea , to reunite again the old realm of Angmar. Now , have you seen the Third age submod called Divide and Conquer ? they have Angmar instead of OOG ( or remnants of Angmar ) and has a really cool roster, with elite Witch- realm orc units, and even Barrow wights!
+Knight of Annúminas Yeah I know that submod but that seemed so unloreistic (?) to me as unit wise. Some of the units were looking like ultra mega steel super galactic warrior, plus I didn't like it's textures at all. Original modmakers of the Third Age had huge knowledge about lore and they did apply it to the game very well.
+Ahmet Emin Erdoğan yeah, of course the original game was amazing, and I agree with you about the textures, I only like the idea of elite orc units, it made Angmar more powerfull ( the original game was so unbalanced) . Maybe they would look better with the armour of the third Hobbit movie ? And yeah , the submod is a little unlorerealistic , in terms of units , but that's original modders foult. The head of the submod knows a lot about the lore ( he even has some lore videos, a request from the suscribers). Also , talking about mods , what do you think about Rise of Mordor ? It seems that they will focus a lot in an "Angmar roster" for the Orcs of Gundabad ( I say this becuse the flag of the faction has the Iron Crown of the Witch King)
+Knight of Annúminas I am so excited about that mod but that will be out in a very late date. It will be worth it anyways, I won't even play that, my computer is full of shit but that is why I do watch videos from Apollo's channel. Also there is a submod for Third Age, named "Massive Overhaul" which adds a new faction (Dunland People), tons of new settlements and units. It's textures and modelling is so fit, perfectly applied for the original mod and lore. Still many issues with the orcish factions though but at least better, I prefer that.
If my nerd knowledge does not fail me i remember that the witch king at this battle and on the whole war in the north campaign he had black numenoreans trolls and wildmen from dunland and raudar not so many orcs and stuff... i also remember that annuminas was the capital of eriador and arnor but due war and a plague it was deserted and fornost became the capital...(you've got problems?orcs and other nasty stuff attacks you?open a portal and hire some varangian guard :P )
i REALLY thought defense had pulled a miracle out of their ass after i saw the catapult was still alive, UNTIL i saw the black numenorians charging that is.
Most of the men in the Witch King's army would belong to Rhudaur, as some of them do say in the unit, as the men of that land rebelled against the Kingdom of Arnor and fell under vassal of Angmar. (Source: Wikipedia)
Siege of Fornost Erain wasnt involved with Dwarves and Men?In Battle for Middle Earth you were fighting with the Goblins attacking this fortress. The defenders were Dunedain i think also but sure Arnorians and Dwarves for some reason xD anyway good battle anyway and great commentary as always Apollo!
This is one of my favorite videos by Pixelated Apollo! My computer is a beast, that I built, but I didn't get a large harddrive, i wish I could hold more total war games! Btw, I have a steam problem, I'm trying to reinstall Empire Total War back onto my computer, and It takes 16.5GB, It is telling me I dont have enough space, but I have about 20GB, can someone tell me the required amount for me not to get this error message?
I Thought this was Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD from Thumbnail and when i saw the lenght of the video i almost had heart attack but then i actually red the title...
Shouts out to the Legandary PaladinBob for all the mods in the past and present
what about the future
Cant thank him yet for something i havent seen or played as for the past and present only!
if there are none in the future.....I will cry
I am a time-travel from the future and I find this comment offensive.
Where can i play his scenarios?
the defenders wasted so many chokepoints
the defence of the elves next to the siege towers looked amazing, loving the vids keep it up
you have shown us plenty of custom maps for this mod but there is something about this one that just makes it so awsome. the layers, the detail maybe, even the scale of this map makes my favorite
ps: keep up the good work!!!
an hour long recreation of the battle where the witch king finally destroyed arthedain and by extension all of arnor?
hold one one second while i go down to the shop to get some popcorn
hahahah
Man these custom scenarios by Paladinbob are my favorite! All I could think of when you panned over the map in the beginning was "Oh sweet jesus YES!" Awesome battle, awesome commentary Pixie.
Someone needs to make a tribute to every soldier who was supposed to be remembered but never was (by pixie)
Man, we keep getting epic battle after epic battle recently. Keep up the awesome word, Pixie!
You should make a playlist called 55 minute+ because those battles are usually pretty epic
lol just came back from the gym then I was notified of this upload 😂😂😂
ahaha really ? me too xD
Wtf same
Hey Apollo, love your videos and the scenarios you play and record, keep up the good work
The map was amazing, the battle too, just the defenders did really bad ;D
Finally! This is exactly the historical battle i'd been waiting and hoping for! Thank you so much. Might I suggest the battle of the Field of Celebrant?
the defenders made a pretty poor showing in this one
lions led by sheep
This is one of the best fights you've posted from this mod. Nice video
Who’s here during lockdown revisiting their favourite scenarios?
This battle is absolutely stunning btw. Everything from the map to the golden, evening sunshine was glorious

It is annoying though that defenders lose so often
An interesting battle, well described. I'm not sure that when an attacking army is so huge it should have to many Trolls.
Yessssss! I love u for uploading third age!! Love u pixey!!!!
:D
Can u do more "Life of a Soldier" that series was really fun
+Pixelated Apollo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
32:00 around there with my orc band, I got very bored and decided to have my orc band entertain me. We were all laughing at them- but my scouts did kill a few Anuminas knights, much to the rage of Synn. :D
I think your best move in this battle was moving that longbow on the opposite wall to the enemy archers and ballistas :D ..I did enjoy that move :D
+paladinbob 123 I think I saved around 200-400 men doing that, even the day. My favorite move by far overall was that last flank by Deluxe and also you pushing up those siege towers. Those two really stopped the art and arches from slaughtering my reserves. Overall, great ending!
you guys played well ^^, us defenders... we have had far better days xD
+Synn “of the” DarkCloud it was tough to defend, watching it really made me realize that. Of course, what we were talking about in game also led to the defeat... lol.
lol xD
this siege looks really good from the thumbnail! love these video Apollo, keep it up :D
I always have my snacks when apollos got third age replays you're to awesome not to
:D you better!
I can't watch any of your videos without a snack now. Its a habit
+Pixelated Apollo weren't the army of the witch-king mostly have Black Numenoureans? Because Angmar is the home of the Black Numenoureans
wrong. Black Numenorians are from have of Umbar which is south of Middle-earth. Angmar is in the north of Middle-earth. Armies were mostly comprised of orcs and evil men from Rhudaur(formely an Arnorian kingdom)
Wich dlc is better Call of the beastman or Chaos warrior ?
and I mean if we ignore the Price
You did actually get most of the names correct except for Cardolan sightly. Great battle! Thanks
lol i said that i wanted to see the siege of Fornost and its here ty Pixie :D
:D
+Pixelated Apollo I would help arnor but with a bow
+Pixelated Apollo when will the campaign for medieval kingdoms 1212 ad be available
+Pixelated Apollo Pixie what's you're favorite faction in lotr and the hobbit? mine is HARADRIM WARRIORS!!!
btw I chose Hell no let them die cuz I like the bad guys >:3
Love the siege battles man keep them coming!
Pixelated Apollo truly deserves more subs
1:00:57 the alone survivor is surely an Aragorn's ancestor :D
actually the last survivor was a lone hobbit :D
+paladinbob 123 OH MY GOD ARAGORN IS A HOBBIT!
aragorns ancestor was Aranarth son of Arvedui the last king of Arnor and he indeed ascaped this battle with his father. but the father would drown soon in the icebay of Forochel afterwards and so Aranarth was the last of the royal dynasty left.
ZIRKEL MAGISTER RAVING Dude I know it was a joke. It was meant to be a funny
+Turin Turambar chill fam it was just a crazy prank

I just played my first medeval 2 seige battle it was epic :)
"Welcome.. this one is made by Paladin Bob" -->> Instantly upvoted. xD
10:42 ''Eldar spearmen'' haha a bit of warhammer spilling over :P
Nice Video but One Little Error the Plague killed Not so Many guys in Arthedain in Cardolan yes and gondor lost far more
This one looks epic. Time to dive into the great battles of the past!
I love this version of Fornost, terrain-wise. That is really cool.
I love u ! Keep going man !

Ah, I love going through the comments ;)
Makes my day almost as much as watching the actual video...
PaladinBob and Mr Deluxe Penguin are always attacking recently. Should've liked to see their defensive skills as wrll
I just came when I heard my phone ring and here I am pixel this is amayzing I cant wait to see this you are the men 😄
:D
Actually Angmar had lot's of men under it's banner and not only from Rhudaur but also from Angmar, and no it's not black Numenoreans but native Hillmen to the lands of Angmar.

I don't care what anyone else says, Pixelated Apollo's narratives of these battles are CANON!
Bu-... wha-... why-... wro-... oh well then. Where's my cannon?
Love these third age siege battles
keep loading third age battles!!
from Argentina
the men in the army was probably to signify Rhudar which was mostly destroyed by angmar. The Rhudar remaining helped angmar because of their hate towards arthedain and cardolan for giving them only the cold rocks of the north and small settlements.
The Hobbit archers are like the nights watch on the wall xD
so good want more videos like this pixelated apollo

haha nice vid apollo well done and yes it very cool playing with paladinbob his maps yes hahaha
I loved the history of Arnor great to see this siege come to life!
The long bowmen in the witchkings army would be the Black numenorean, evil man living at Carn dum.
Battle of middle earth: rise of the witchking lied to me apparently. Damn.
Apollo, you are the best, as always. Maybe you can make video about TW:Warhammer???? Of course online battle.
listen Pixalated Apollo, can you do some more siege battles, or some videos with Fornost?
It will be great if you could, thank you, you are the best youtuber for me, really!!!! KEEP UO THE GOOD WORK! 😄😉🙌🙌👋👋👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
38.41 longbow man dancing in the heat of battle 😂😂😂 what a guy
With the Witch-king, I can see him using Human warriors, since he too was once human, before the power of darkness had corrupted him.
Or just to have a larger army...
You might be reading into it too much.
And you wouldn't?
What? I simply inferred that the Witch-King's use of humans might not have been connected to how he himself was a human (or once was). I mean, Morgoth and Sauron used many humans, and were they human?
Yes, that they were, though actually this all really started with Sauron's master, of which the book slightly speaks about.
did anyone else notice those archers at the front line that the witch king never took out
When I heard "Hobbit Archers" I knew what the outcome was.
good battle. but the defender made the usual mistake of making multiple layer of defense with few troups.their should have retreat to the last defense
Did you know about "The darkmoon chronicle" ? I think you'll enjoy it !
yeah it was based on a comicbook made by the French , I believe..although is rare for a translation in English :D....they made a cpu game which has some great background music :D
+paladinbob 123 I'm french and this comic is INSANE ^^
damn at the final line i really thought the defender would make it with his artillery
Awesome video man!
When the attackers flanked to the town center I thought the defense was going to hold
At the beginning of the flank
If Appolo replies to my comment I can cross that off my bucket list!! :)
time to cross it man!
+Pixelated Apollo yayyy!!
+Turin Turambar XD
I believe that the amount of humans in the witch-king’s army is because of one of the kingdom’s of Arnor became a vassal to Agnmar
I can't stand defenders making such obvious and frequent mistakes.
you are already 2 vs 3 and heavily outnumbered...this almost looks like match fixing
superbe vidéo 😀😁😍😘
It would be cool if you recreated one of the Bfme 2 Rise of the witch king campaign missions.
I wish we could reforge Angmar with Orcs of Gundabad in the Third Age Campaign like we do Free Peoples of Eriador to Arnor.

+Ahmet Emin Erdoğan yeah imouto MOS is a much better sub mod
What really m are me mad was the defenders just gave his archers up
:D i'm so happy to see another third age battle from PA
mr. deluxe penguin is like the coolest name ever
Elves, hobbits, humans what more can I ask for
The first thing I check when I get on RUclips is a new video from Pixelated Apollo. Addicted? Nah.
It was my second...
i bet pixel $1,000,000 that this battle is impossible for the defenders to win.
Shout out to Miles'n'Davis
Also I agree with Apollo, Wargs need a boost in combat.
They probably could have stopped that with better micro managing- his general could have intercepted.
Most of the men in the Witch King's army would belong to Rhudaur, as some of them do say in the unit, as the men of that land rebelled against the Kingdom of Arnor and fell under vassal of Angmar. (Source: Wikipedia)
I probably wouldn't help. Arnor is on his last leg, and I would risk the wrath of the witch king which has became a huge power.
Bro your the best bro my iner nerd loves that you know what your talking about
Plz do more of this third age total war my favorite also its my birthday on aug.15 btw massive fan of urs
I hope they can add cav for dwarves goat cav just like the hobbits botfa
Not making more of a defense of the citadel walls was a big mistake on the defenders side.
Siege of Fornost Erain wasnt involved with Dwarves and Men?In Battle for Middle Earth you were fighting with the Goblins attacking this fortress. The defenders were Dunedain i think also but sure Arnorians and Dwarves for some reason xD anyway good battle anyway and great commentary as always Apollo!
well, i saw the title of the video and loved it xD
id really like to take charge of an army in one of these scenarios D: its painful watching all the mistakes
I miss Paladinbob
Apolo in start when elven spearmen do a last charge dwarfs iron garde they say "dont let does elves take all glorie"
dwarfs were in the battle of fornost in bfme2 evil campaign it was the last stand together but sadly no elves. but in the book it's definitely
This is one of my favorite videos by Pixelated Apollo! My computer is a beast, that I built, but I didn't get a large harddrive, i wish I could hold more total war games!
Btw, I have a steam problem, I'm trying to reinstall Empire Total War back onto my computer, and It takes 16.5GB, It is telling me I dont have enough space, but I have about 20GB, can someone tell me the required amount for me not to get this error message?
just buy a new hard drive you can easily get one of 1 terabyte for just 30 euros
And there was a recapture of fornost with gondor and elves
I Thought this was Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD from Thumbnail and when i saw the lenght of the video i almost had heart attack but then i actually red the title...
