  • The name “Theotokos” is, according to the theology of the ecumenical councils, a NECESSARY implication of the reality of the “God-Man”. God becomes man through Mary; just as it pleases Him to work in and through us to enter into communion with His creation. The person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the total content of God’s communion with the world, so to enter the Father’s house consists of entering into Jesus Christ. Since it is an eternal fact that Mary is the Mother of Jesus, the Word of God, she is THE Mother, the eschatological Mother whose prayers unite heaven and earth.

Wow... this was so well put! I am quite amazed that this central mystery of everything can even be said so simply and clearly yet densely in three minutes. A large part is also hearing it at the right point in time but things came together so deeply for me. Deep Thanks to you and May God lead you each day to become a proper house for Him in the likeness of our most beloved Holy GodBearer!

The Greek in John 19:27 does not actually say “own home” it literally says «εις τα ίδια» “into the own” or “into his own things” that is into his the beloved disciple’s own. Many times this expression is used to refer to a house, however it is broader than that.
I think this further gives credence to the idea the guy is talking about in this video. The beloved disciple, a model for all of us, takes Mary into his own in all manners; into his own care, his own house, his own concern, his own being.
John Behr has a good section on this gospel passage in his book “The Mystery of Christ” if anyone is interested.

Saint Joseph and St. Mary never had a conjugal union. Jesus was not born from sex. What are you on about?

@@Nonprophetelias i know that . i just cant get how he could fulfill his "father" (or stepfather if you will) role while being a sinner and mary could not . i don´t understand her being sinless as a necessary step to the birth of jesus . if god is allmighty why would he need of that restriction?
