- Whisky can often be taken very seriously, with 'experts' becoming set in their ways and forming rigid opinions about certain distilleries, categories and regions. However, these preconceptions go out the window when it's a blind tasting!
Bevvy's Laurie Black plays host as whisky legend Charlie Maclean takes on Outlander star Sam Heughan in a blind tasting head-to-head. Nobody is as passionate about Scotland as Sam, and nobody has a better palate than Charlie........or so we thought! Let's find out. Will they both be able to identify the Scotch whisky from the English whisky??
Sam Heughan is also the founder of Sassenach Spirits. To purchase a bottle of 'The Sassenach' visit sassenachspiri... (or your local Whisky Shop in the UK).

Banff 1974 ( Bottled 2003) Samaroli 35th Anniversary is my best whisky experience so far. It was amazing dram. I called it Citrus wave.
Sympa… très agréable de voir des connaisseurs. Merci pour ce partage !
If you can't tell the difference between English whiskey and Scottish whiskey, then you shouldn't be drinking whiskey.
All whisky tastes like shit!
@@alfiehickson8440Only if you're a ten year old child. 😉
@andyrobertson7315 No. Its called an analogy! If you like the taste that's fine. Heroin addicts very quickly actually enjoy the painful feeling of sticking a needle in themselves as well. It's Because the brain starts to associate the pain with the drug. Same with whisky! It tastes foul but because its a drug aswell your brain starts to associate it with the feeling of the drug and you "acquire" a taste for it. If it wasnt for the alcohol nobody would ever drink it. That's how you know its horrible!
These guys with there "hints of oak" bollocks trying to justify there addiction. "I'm not an addict I'm a whisky connoisseur"
No "e" in Scottish WHISKY.
Tried whisky years ago. In an anonymous pub. No label on it. It was revigorating and absolutely delicious. My first contact with the Scottish environment ! I never forgot!
As a native Tennessean, there's nothing better than good Tennessee whiskey or bourbon.
wire works from white peak Distillery in Derbyshire? a great dram
I am Scottish but I also love England as well! Whiskey whiskey whiskey is beautiful!
You're Scots and you dinnae ken how to spell whisky? 🤦♀️

Ha no I meant English whisky is too expensive for me. I know Irish ones well. Lovely. Jameson, Bushmills, Tullamore Dew, Poges etc.
@@lyndoncmp5751 ah 😁 👍
Sam has a great pallet
Can anyone tell me why Sam now speaks with an American accent ?
Funny, as an American it sounds British to me.
@@denisezirkel6307The point is Sam is Scottish. Scots don't say Ya for Yes or keep saying sure all the time. His Scottish accent is not there.
I thought it was jimmy greaves. 😁
Yeah same
Highland Park good stuff
Eire wins 😂
Irish ☘️ & Bourbon 🥃 tastes best
Glenfiddich king oh all whisky's

🤩💖❤️🤩
🎉😂😂🎉😮😮 ccs
english whisky...... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
....yeah, no chance mate lmfao
England like Scotland has a long history of producing single malt whisky but ceased production in 1905 only to return in 2003. In 2024 English whisky produced in Norfolk was awarded the World's best single malt prize at the Worlds Whisky awards. Therefore, not as funny as your childish mind imagines.
But.. Master of malt send no Sassennachs spirits, Whisky to Germany
I've never drunk alcohol but my mum used to have a drop of scotch whisky and hot water be she went to bed 🎉
Didn't even know England did whiskey.
@@johnbrereton5229Nobody wants English whisky.
