Show of the Weekend! This week Ellen's been playing with Onions and Luke's prepared another creepy Pokédex quiz, from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon's new entries. Poor Cubone 😢
James isn't a superhero now. He's actually Elsa. He's not going to stay and burn. She's going to stay and put the fires out with well-aimed snowmen. Not the sentient ones. Just snowmen.
16:32, missed a good one. Alola ninetales' Ultra Sun's dex entry reads "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave." That's straight from the game.
Chrona Trigger I believe Ultra Moon's Mr. Mime entry is about it making invisible walls and doubleslapping anyone who isn't impressed. The entries are one of the best parts of the games
Ultra Sun pokédex entry for Gyrados: It fires hyper beams in all directions, burning the surrounding area to ash. There are some regions where it’s called “the deity of destruction.”
Giggle Flail: Ellens joyful giggle is so contagious that her opponent can't help but join with Ellen in laughter. However after Ellen seemingly calms down, her opponent realizes that they cannot stop laughing and starts to flail on the ground gasping at their aching sides. Ellen looks directly into their eyes and begins to giggle again as they slowly perish in a fit of giggles. She then consumes their soul as it leaves their body.
Nah, I hate the sun. I work graveyard shifts, and sleep the day away, (when I get sleep anyways.) I don't really miss the sun. Nighttime is far more beautiful, it's just a bit colder, and there are less people around. It's the best of all worlds!
You're my favorite internet duo. You really complement each other so well, you two just fit together somehow. *Show of the Weekend* is definitely my most anticipated youtube video every week. I especially love the unscripted endings to every show, makes me smile and laugh every time.
“Million Onion Hotel” was a treat to those who played the PlayStation game called “moon.” (Character designs and Easter eggs and all) It’s considered a cult classic in Japan, but sadly it never left the country...
Just wanted to say that Show of the Weekend has become the thing which I look forward to every Saturday... nothing better after a long week at work than to have Luke and Ellen to start the weekend with :)
"I'll tell you if you bring me five bolts of Mageweave Cloth." *subtle lean towards the audience with an excited smirk of anticipation to see who got the WoW reference*
Oh my god! Encarta ‘95!!! So many nostalgic points! I have genuinely lost memory from my past due to medical reasons but you guys just gave something back to me! Now spending time googling any clips of it!
Ahhhh, Encarta 95 and the Mind Maze. The best way to play games as a kid in the 90s, and still convince your parents that you were REALLY doing your homework!
Hearing Ellen say that she watched her sister play games is super relatable. I didn't really play a video game for myself (with the exception of my one gameboy game, Pokemon firered) until I was at least 10 or 11, because my older sister monopolized our consoles all the time.
Oh my gosh guys the "starter pack" at 8:40 and then u guys REMINDED me of Encarta which i forgot about! And mind maze which had almost left my memory! What a nostalgia trip! I feel like i grew up with u guys
Yay! Show of the weekend. You two make Saturday mornings even better. I love the synergy between you two; I'd say it's on par with Ant and Dec. Keep it up and one day you might even be able to rival Barry and Paul Chuckle.
This episode of show of the weekend reminds me a lot of my school experience. Learned some scary things, flunked a quiz, but did great at drinking juice!!
Great show, both of you! I enjoy seeing what Luke will say each episode that makes Ellen laugh. As she puts it, "Give her a stitch." Hang on, if a stitch is what you get from too much laughing, what do you get after cutting your skin open and the doctor has to mend your skin back together? Perhaps you call it "Let's snuggle forever" ]X-D[
The way Mike and Andy dragged them off makes me think they've become a little TOO good at mastering hitman that it has transferred to real life. And now that I know the secret, I must watch my back because they might go for me nex...
Oh man I've been having a rough day, I've been feeling awful for no reason for hours now and nothing (NOT EVEN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS OR ANIMAL VIDEOS) has helped. I opened this and by the end of the opening sketch I was giggling and almost in tears because all the anxiety and paranoia suddenly lifted away. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Thank you so much, thank you, for keeping me afloat when I can't keep treading water. Actually, you pulled me back into the boat. Thank you, I have a fear of drowning.
I bought Million Onion Hotel immediately after seeing this video :O PS: This is one of your funniest videos ever, I laughed out loud most of the way through
I know how this is, fod a good portion, a Pokémon episode that I really want to see and hear. That start though, Million Onion Hotel. Totally came out of nowhere. Well set-up. Nicely done. I liked that a lot.
Reasons Luke is a little kid 12:05 "at night you can sleep and in the day time you can eat lunch which is good" 27:38 "everyone go away my juice time" *struggles with mike cords. So Luke is basically a five year old 😝
Eternal day would result in a sun-scorched earth (think of mercury) and eternal night would create an eternal ice age (think of pluto). Either way, Ellen has doomed us all.
Fun Fact: Parasect was actually based of a real fungus in the world that attaches it's spores to the brain of the ant whilst it works and kills it and then takes over therefore making a zombie ant. Look it up.
My favourite pokemon entry from SUMO is Alolan Ninetails: "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave." I mean, 100% relatable, Ninetails.
"All kazoos, all the time" Can we just get loads of kazoo covers of popular Video game songs now? - Like: 1-up girl, from Mario Odyssey... but with a kazoo this time, Greenhill zone theme with a kazoo, Ezio's Family...ARE KAZOOS Deadman's gun... and his KAZOO!!!, The Best is Yet to Come from MGS - KAZOOS EVERYWHERE!!! Mwaaa ha ha ha!!!!
"Or as by this time next week, when everyone in the world is playing it, we'll all be calling it, presumably, M-O-H" *medal of honour game series sits quietly in the corner crying*
Speaking of slightly obscure, probably British (but not necessarily) educational games from the '90s, does anyone else remember one called *The Crystal Rainforest?* All I can remember about it now is getting a prize for being one of the first two people to complete it in my school (we were told to play it in pairs).
Hey Ellen, I’ve been watching since the beginning and your mind control finally worked on me. I just bought Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning with all the dlc!
13:00 I live in New York, Rochester, and it gets dark here so freaking early! It's dark and cloudy all day and the sun goes down at 4:00. I like nighttime but 4:00 is just so early. Plus it's extra disorienting because during the Summer it isn't even full darkness at 8:00
omg the mind maze. My childhood, I was utterly terrible at it. I also remember just going on the encyclopedia to listen to in the hall of the mountain king because I had no idea what it was actually called and just knew that was the only place I could hear it and I really liked it.
Me in 2021, hearing them talk about Encarta Mind Maze - Wait, when did this come out? Imagine if you could say to those optimistic souls that in 4 years time, Oxbox will be streaming a playthrough of EMM because... reasons.
My Z-move would be "Existential bummer", I'd just sit in a corner and the opponent would go "Hey buddy, you ok? What's wrong?" And then I'd tell them about my existential crisis and they would join me. Reducing all their stats 6 stages. Hahahahahahaha :c
Show of the Weekend! This week Ellen's been playing with Onions and Luke's prepared another creepy Pokédex quiz, from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon's new entries. Poor Cubone 😢
When's the kingdoms of amalur reckoning (sorry if i spelt it wrong)
Outside Xtra Do you guys remember the humangus entertainment games?
Outside Xtra 💜💜💜💜LOVE U GUYS
Seriously, the sun never shines in britain
Ellen" He takes off his clothes and there is a lot of soldiers" me " Oh god she has ideas to raid houses when people are sleeping"
My man James not even hesitating in agreeing to burn alive for the sake of the Oxtra/Oxbox crew.
TELL ME HE ISN'T A SUPERHERO NOW. TELL MEEE
James isn't a superhero now.
He's actually Elsa. He's not going to stay and burn. She's going to stay and put the fires out with well-aimed snowmen.
Not the sentient ones. Just snowmen.
Why was this not titled THE RETURN OF BUD FENDSLER
#throwbackgag
Can anyone tell me which Show of the Weekend was the first appearance of Bud Fendsler?
Please?
Warhawk i know its the one when luke and jane came back from LA
Alistair Shaw do you remember the exact title? Can't seem to find it right now
OblivionWalker28 no i am sorry
Abra used confusion
Ellen became confused
Ellen used giggle flail
Ellen hurt itself in the confusion
thisguitar64 A much more likely sequence of events I think...
Giggle Flail? seems like the sort of attack to hurt everyone BUT the user...
That is actually adorable
16:32, missed a good one. Alola ninetales' Ultra Sun's dex entry reads "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave." That's straight from the game.
Chrona Trigger I believe Ultra Moon's Mr. Mime entry is about it making invisible walls and doubleslapping anyone who isn't impressed. The entries are one of the best parts of the games
Alolan Ninetails: "You kids get off my lawn"
Very few pokedex entries get a 'same' response from me. That is one of them.
Alola Ninetails is probably like "I hate escorting these two legged fools. They can't even scratch their ears with their feet."
Everytime I read this entry, it makes me laugh out loud 😸
I like to think Luke's Z - move is just putting a berry on a shelf taller than the pokemon, rendering them completely flabbergasted
He just stands up. They watch him standing up ... and up ... and up ... and fall over backwards and bump their heads.
*"My safety is not my responsibility, Ellen!"*
-Luke 2017 😂
Said every workplace safety litigation lawyer ever
Adding the word Ultra makes anything sound cooler. Ultra OxBox. Ultra Games. Ultra Murder. Wait what?
Ultra hiding the evidence, ultra hiding from the cops...
Ultra not as funny as when you say "wait what" yourself
If there was an Ultra Outside Xtra, would the couch be Ultraviolet?
Bailey Alexis Snow not if they want to be legally distinct from the movie
One of these things is not like the other
I love this series.
It's basically 60% Ellen's cute laughter.
20% Luke's genuine confusion.
20% Videogames.
As an English person who regularly catches the bus I can confirm that Luke is picking the best seat.
This Bud Fendsler guy reminds me of someone.. yanno the beard and the clothes... No wait ive got it! Leonardo Micstand from the worst disguises video!
Ellen: "All kazoos, all the time!"
I wonder what John William's orchestral score of the Star Wars saga would sound like on the kazoo...
I'm in tears just thinking about it. Imagine Duel of the Fates on the kazoo. Or the Imperial March.
I found this but I'm not sure how I feel about it:
ruclips.net/video/KHGV1XVH92c/видео.html
There was a version of Duel of the Fates on Kazoo as well but I had to turn it off after a few seconds...
Josh Foden The music from Sir nick's death day party
That is.... strange...
Ultra Sun pokédex entry for Gyrados: It fires hyper beams in all directions, burning the surrounding area to ash. There are some regions where it’s called “the deity of destruction.”
Yeah that region is called "Kanto". It's been doing that since Red/Blue.
Isn't it one of the unofficial pseudo-legends?
Mar Hawkman No it is not
Giggle Flail: Ellens joyful giggle is so contagious that her opponent can't help but join with Ellen in laughter.
James could hear Andy's sandwich? I couldn't. What did it say?
Adam McDDcM We're glad you didn't. Since the sandwich had really aged cheese on it, it was saying quite racist things!
'Bite me'
"Sorry!"
"Save me!"
"I'm actually the soul of a child"
"Million Onion Soup, you get two games... and that's shallot"
I imagine giggle flare works like self destruct, neither combatant is capable of fighting after.
Nah, I hate the sun. I work graveyard shifts, and sleep the day away, (when I get sleep anyways.) I don't really miss the sun. Nighttime is far more beautiful, it's just a bit colder, and there are less people around. It's the best of all worlds!
That is absolutely the truth. The only downside is lack of 24 hour restaurants where I live. Its IHOP or Steak N Shake.
Jake Huffman If you live in D.C the only bearable time is during the night.
The most beautiful time of the day is sun rise
I'm on graveyard shift too. Screw the Sun! Vitamin D is for losers!
Glad I'm not the only creature of the night around here.
Clearly James is the unsung hero of both channels.
You're my favorite internet duo. You really complement each other so well, you two just fit together somehow. *Show of the Weekend* is definitely my most anticipated youtube video every week. I especially love the unscripted endings to every show, makes me smile and laugh every time.
“Luke’s Juice Time” would be an excellent cooking-show offshoot of Oxtra.
I feel like poor Cubone needs a break after 20+ years of angst
“Million Onion Hotel” was a treat to those who played the PlayStation game called “moon.” (Character designs and Easter eggs and all)
It’s considered a cult classic in Japan, but sadly it never left the country...
Ellen: YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM MY AGENT!
*Angrily storms off*
Ellen: Diana, I'm calling in that favour you owe me...
Just wanted to say that Show of the Weekend has become the thing which I look forward to every Saturday... nothing better after a long week at work than to have Luke and Ellen to start the weekend with :)
Definitely one of the best episodes yet! Keep up the good work guys
What!!! 5 am in Mx and I just get notified of your new vid, 29 min long but I'm going to ... watch it in the bus, that's gonna be a funny trip!
"I'll tell you if you bring me five bolts of Mageweave Cloth."
*subtle lean towards the audience with an excited smirk of anticipation to see who got the WoW reference*
I’m beginning to think Ellen was just in a fever dream for that whole million onion hotel.
We need a Let's Play of Mind Maze! Ellen and Luke's trivia skills need to be put to the test.
Ah yes, I've lost many people to the British infinite-apology loop.
Thanks for the juicy episode guys it was very fruitful. You managed to squeeze every last laugh out of me
April fools day next year you guys need to release a retro video as if you were recording in 1995. Mid 90s gaming ftw.
Oh my god! Encarta ‘95!!! So many nostalgic points! I have genuinely lost memory from my past due to medical reasons but you guys just gave something back to me! Now spending time googling any clips of it!
Only the Ox crew could get me to sit through 10 minutes of a discussion about mobile games. I hate mobile games!
i mean this in the most platonic way humanly and inhumanly possible: ellen is absolutely adorable n she rlly brightens up my day
Someone *seriously* needs to check on the sanity of the people writing the Pokédex entries.
The Silent Exo I am afraid it’s too late
GameFreak Studios has its name for reason.
Meh
After multiple decades and thousands of entries... Meh, it's probably to be expected.
The terror (or is it excitement) in Ellen's eyes when Luke tells her he is going to show the move "let's snuggle forever" is real ;)
Memo to Dr. Douglas: The training protocols for the Bud Fenzler line of Andy clones need to be reviewed. Handshake technique is still poor
Is it just me? Or does Bud look a lot like Andy but with sunglasses?...Just me? Yeah I thought so
Nah man. Andy, wouldn't do that to Luke. They're good friends judging by all the trips to paris and sweden.
Don’t you mean ‘Doesn’t Andy look a lot like Budd Fensler: Agent to the Stars?’
Nah, it's just that everyone with brown hair and a beard looks like Andy. Pretty sure that's it.
Ninja Ken what are you talking about? They look completely different
Ellen: All kazoos all the time!
Me: I like to sing, dance and play the kazooooooooo!
When Luke first mentioned the 'Let's snuggle forever' I was like, Aww! What's wrong with that?
After watching the clip, I'll pass on that.
Ellen's high-pitch voice she does when she's laughing and talking at the same time is so adorably hilarious 😂😂
I love your guys' videos so much. They never cease to make me smile. I would love to meet y'all one day 😊
Great show, both of you!
Makes me so happy that you talked about Little King’s Story!! I love that game! :)
Omg seeing you guys freak out over Mind Maze just hit me in the feels and made my whole week 💙
The way Mike and Andy dragged them off makes me think they've become a little TOO good at mastering hitman that it has transferred to real life. And now that I know the secret, I must watch my back because they might go for me nex...
You know who is worse at introductions? The Onion Knight. "Um, oh... He's King in the North."
Ellen's already contagious laughter becomes lethal, as her wild flailing rips your now happy soul out through your breath, and she eats it.
I bought Million Onion Hotel immediately after seeing this video :O
PS: This is one of your funniest videos ever, I laughed out loud most of the way through
When Ellen laughs at 1:11 it makes my heart sing
I know how this is, fod a good portion, a Pokémon episode that I really want to see and hear.
That start though, Million Onion Hotel. Totally came out of nowhere. Well set-up. Nicely done. I liked that a lot.
Lukes face, when he does the drumroll, should be evidence that Bud Fendslers constant harassment has made him snap
Good old Andy, making up for the blooper famine of 18/10. He's saved lives.
I KNEW there was a Cask of Amontillado joke back there somewhere!
Thanks for the recommendation of Million Onion Hotel only played about half an hour and I'm hooked.
Fun Fact: Parasect was actually based of a real fungus in the world that attaches it's spores to the brain of the ant whilst it works and kills it and then takes over therefore making a zombie ant. Look it up.
19:38 I remember that story.
My favourite pokemon entry from SUMO is Alolan Ninetails: "The reason it guides people all the way down to the mountain's base is that it wants them to hurry up and leave."
I mean, 100% relatable, Ninetails.
Ellen is a Fairy type, right? I mean, the giggling, the blue hair, the disarming charm- hang on, where did these bricks come from?
Omg xD Andy is love, Andy is life!
Ellen used Giggle Flail, [I faint, laughing], it's SUPER EFFECTIVE!
You guys can always cheer me up on a bad day. Thanks.
"All kazoos, all the time"
Can we just get loads of kazoo covers of popular Video game songs now? -
Like: 1-up girl, from Mario Odyssey... but with a kazoo this time, Greenhill zone theme with a kazoo, Ezio's Family...ARE KAZOOS
Deadman's gun... and his KAZOO!!!, The Best is Yet to Come from MGS - KAZOOS EVERYWHERE!!!
Mwaaa ha ha ha!!!!
These Pokemon backstories could give Pennywise a run for his money.
Pun intended?
Gengars would send him running for the sewer hills
The line:
"I can hear Andy's sandwich."
Made me laugh a little too loudly in the middle of a burger shop.
People stared, it was awkward.
yes Ellen looked so pretty! Shame on Luke for not introducing her.
“The onions made me do it!”
Ellen, the day after Luke’s mangled body is found.
"typical fox trickery!"
Ohmigod you and your practices are amazing!
What's that creepy music that plays in the background? Not the Lavender Town music, but the other one. It's really good.
Million Onion Hotel looks like a game that could us a few more layers.
I enjoyed listen to Ellen talk about M.O.H while Luke nodded and smiled
Ellen's move can only be super effective against Pokemon with mouths for those without can't be made to laugh.
The bloopers are HILARIOUS
"Or as by this time next week, when everyone in the world is playing it, we'll all be calling it, presumably, M-O-H"
*medal of honour game series sits quietly in the corner crying*
Ellen's laugh really is contagious
Speaking of slightly obscure, probably British (but not necessarily) educational games from the '90s, does anyone else remember one called *The Crystal Rainforest?* All I can remember about it now is getting a prize for being one of the first two people to complete it in my school (we were told to play it in pairs).
When you see Luke with a computer and laughing in the thumbnail, you know it’s going to be a good show
Hey Ellen, I’ve been watching since the beginning and your mind control finally worked on me. I just bought Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning with all the dlc!
So, Ellen's Super Ability is essentially Drunken Boxing but with laughing instead of being a belligerent drunk?
That sounds a lot better, actually.
You two have great chemistry!
Onion Knight? Siegward of Catarina, at your service!
I heard the £2 bit and screamed with joy saying
"Finally one of these channels are from Britain!"
Got out of surgery, Oxtra has uploaded a new video, always a silver lining.
Ellen is like everyone's adorable little 6 year old cousin that always makes you smile. Never change, Ellen, never change.
Hahahahahahaha :c
honestly, the way pokemon has been going, Ellen guessing "souls of the dead" for every single one wasn't far off :/
thanks for the laugh guys! i really needed that
