Tried my first inlay this week, I believe a hydraulic press is a must have if you want tight glue lines.. beautiful work as always!!
If you need a hydraulic press to get the inlays to fit....your doing something wrong!!
@@ClintonCaraway-CNC Broinwood uses a press... so does a lot of others who do high depth detailed inlays. It isnt to get the inlay to fit, its to get a good, equal glue squeeze out so that you have tight glue lines.

These are unbelievable. I bought a CNC mainly because of the influence of your channel to push my ability to achieve something like this. Ive watched alot of other people too and Im wondering what your Start/Flat depths are on your V carves. The ones that Ive seen seem too shallow for the abuse that a chopping block might see.

I've been tinkering with my shapeoko pro, but figuring the best way to *properly* use inkscape with carbide create/motion is throwing me for a loop. Do you mind me asking how you generate your gcodes?

It is food-grade mineral oil. I soak the board in the oil.
Do you use a press, either mechanical or vacuum, during your glue stages? If so, can you make a recommendation on best direction to go?

I am using a hydraulic press. It is a self-built press.
You always mark the center. Do you set this to your 0,0 reference instead of a corner? If so, how do you set it exactly back to that after moving the board?
The CNC can memorize/set 9 zero points.
I just mark the center and set it on the CNC.

i am using a hydraulic press.
I'm curious to know how long these take you on average make in total. Eg glue ups and using the cnc for the inlay.
making time is about 2-3 weeks
