Gamble and huff was one of their greatest inspirations. And that's what l love about entertainment the inspiration. I got a chance to meet Alexander o'neal in CA. A very great legend. And very unique voice. I salute him.
I've listened to the Hearsay (1987) album so many times over the years and its nice to hear some songs from that album being sung/played live.
Wow 1987, I was only 10years old, never saw this clip before. Of course back in those days there was no access to all these tv channels like nowadays. But what a great performance. Arsenio Hall's jacket is also back in style. 🤣 I just love the 80's sound ! Alex looks and sounds Wow. Of course. This man's voice is just one in a million. I could even recognize it if I was far on another planet. God bless you Alexander O' Neal. 💯🕺👍💝💃🌃

Certainly learned a lot about Minneapolis. 👍 Really fantastic, looking at the scenerie, the cars of that period, the clothes and overal style , i just love it! 🤩👍🎉💐👋👋👋 Those rockbands? Never ever heard of them😂! The fact they were rehearsing next to the R&B bands and the reporter talking about the wall wich was down , somehow made me think about the Aerosmith video with Run DMC 'Walk This Way' ! Where Steven crashes the wall with the mic Lol! 🤣🤣🤣😂 Loved watching the excursion on Flyte Time Records 🤩👍 especially the Grammy fallin apart! 🤣🤣🤣 No, just kidding, that was some great footage! 🤩😍👋💐✌️Alex, thank you so much for sharing this documentary with us, it was fantastic. Heresay was one of the last great Minneapolis Sound albums until The Shift happened.
And this man is still fine to this day. I love his sangin ass so much!! If you were here tonight is my all time favorite from Alexander 😍❤️

If Alex never smoked or dig drugs, his voice would have been even better. The drugs ruined him.
Before the RIFF RAFF came to Minneapolis you would see everyone in a downtown club called FELTY'S. Prince would pop in and jam with the house band. Paul Peterson would play a new song from one of his many projects. The Steele's would destroy the stage with their gospel style ensemble. Jellybean would sit in on guitar. Actor T. K. Carter would pop in with Jerome and get on stage and do some crazy sh*t. Jeff Lorber would pop in and plays keys. Great time for the Minneapolis music scene.
