Pure unadulterated voice and soul. One of the best male vocalist of our time.
I second to that.
This was Wembley Arena 1988 during a week of sold-out shows in London. Alex was fantastic and our band was tight as hell. Great memories I'm playing piano/keyboards stage right- which is your left side of the screen. Back then we looked so young walking around the city with our tour jackets a group of women thought we were members of his fan club lol.
Easily one of the best (top 2) vocalist (Alex and Luther) and RnB entertainers of all time. His sound is so unique and he has the talent and skill to cover anyone's song, brilliantly. He takes real command (charisma for days) of that stage and his audience. Plus No one sang it live better than he did. I MISS Alex! His career was too short. The entire band was brilliant as well. You guys rocked!
That's awesome brother. I guess Alex recently went back to London and did a show or two. Somebody obviously cares about the man in London. I wonder what a concert check looked like back then for a lead singer with a packed house.
I was there on the Saturday night, it was broadcast live on BBC 2 the following evening. It was amazing, the sound was spot on, everything was perfect, a life changing concert. Have since seen Alex many times, my children grew up going to his gigs with my wife and I and are still fans today.
In 2002 we saw Alex at Cabot Hall in Canary Warf, he did a medley of James Brown songs and it was absolutely fantastic, something I'll never forget.
Props to you and the band. Yall did that

I say with so much sincerity that I’ve been listening to any Alexander O’Neal music I can get my hands on for about 20 years. He is truly and unequivocally in my top 5 singers I continue to go back and listen to…because I simply feel the passion in my soul! Long live Alex!

Yeah the band was all live back then no fakery lol. So much fun touring with those songs and Alex out front and I was so young it seemed touring the world performing those Jimmy Jam Terry Lewis songs. The band from back in the '80s are all still in touch on Facebook so we keep up with each other's lives.

I know I’m typing a lot of comments but Alexander O’Neal is fire !!!! Even now he still has an awesome voice with all he’s Ben through it’s so inspirational.
He looks so damn happy and full of joy! I just can't get enough! Especially Hearsay and his entrance on the stairs!
Hearsay is my favourite album of all time. At his peak he was unstoppable vocally , he could sing any type of song and still be soulful.

1988. I was only 10 years old so I couldn't attend any concerts yet, but Lord when I see this I wished I was there then. 💕 Even as a small girl this singer impressed me. I always thought that must be a warm suit to dance in. Cause that's the thing so typical about Alexander O' Neal, the nice suits. As a child I grew up watching "weird" dressed artists lol! 🤣Like for example Culture Club or Madonna to name just a few. So when I saw Alexander O'Neal on tv I thought that must be an angry priest or teacher that became an artist.🤣lol! His voice so strong and powerful, catched me dough. But I still had to learn English so when I was a bit older I started to learn a lot of song lyrics and I kept them in a map.🤩 From that point on I was a fan. Thank you Mr.O'Neal for your incredibly great vibes. You have been there throughout my whole life bringing me joy and comfort through your fantastic songs. 💯✨💞
