Great build. Thanks for sharing. Just love the hidden pump. I too love old mountain bikes . I have a Peugeot laser and when i cleaned it i found a sticker that said built in Canada but then sold here in England. It looks ugly 😂😂 but i love it.

Thanks for watching. I enjoy reading the different labels as to where the bikes came from, or were serviced last. I wonder how your Peugeot made its way to you.

I'd keep that cool seatpost 😂. Nice find 😎 🤌🏽. Can't go wrong with them older Cannondale MTB's! Aim high 💰! Well done 👍🏽!

That was my exact first mountain bike. Over 30 years later I'm still riding! Great job on the refurb! Let me know if that bike happens to be for sale - I would be interisted.

Thanks for watching! I did sell the bike. Here is the “How Much” video:

Nice Bike!! Would love to find some similar age components to use on my bike build... BTW, I believe the front brake cable is supposed to be routed between the housings, in the video it is routed on the outside of the drive side housing. Great video and keep up the great work!!

Thanks for watching! I noticed the cable routing after I finished the video. I felt kind of silly after I saw that and thought nobody would notice watching this. lol. I was wrong.

Thanks for watching!! I’m not sure many years they made it.

I found this during a quick google search:
Cannondale produced the SM-500 mountain bike for around 7 years, from 1984 to 1991. They later switched the naming scheme and dropped the "S" prefix around 1992.

Why did you leave those ugly pedals on it? Nice bike btw. ...and emergency pump in the seatpost.

Thanks for watching!! My plan is to flip the bike so I didn’t want to put any additional costs into it.

Thanks for watching! The red was OEM so it stayed with the bike.

@@TheValueBikeAdvocate Sorry…it looked like a spray can was used. I guess I’d keep it original, too. Good video.
