@@greyjavier4330 Hi! For flooding, I usually use a 2. The pink flowers were a 21 I believe. For the basketweave on the stroller, I used a 1. If you have any other questions, let me know!
Beautiful!! Love watching you create the whole set! Your work is absolutely stunning!!
Thank you so much Lisa! That means a lot!
Just gorgeous! I really like them all, but I’ll choose the heart as a fave. I like a combination of type of videos to watch- the short edited videos when I’m short on time, but I really love when the cookie decorator talks to us. Not just about how to do something, but even commenting on what you do when you make a mistake, and I’d love any information on how you turned your skills and passion into a business. I’d like to do cookie decorating for more than just my fam and friends. I’m glad I found your channel.
Hi Barbara! Thanks so much for the feedback! I agree that I like a mixture of the different types of videos, so I'll try to keep doing that. Also, I've done custom orders on the side, but that's been the extent of it so far other than my RUclips focus, so I'm not sure if I'm the best person to give advice on turning this into a full fledged business! I know many people have done that though; Flour Box Bakery being one of them (she has a channel on here if you aren't already subscribed and is the sweetest). If I can think of more I'll let you know!
That’s amazing that you have this skill and don’t sell many! If I start a business, it will be very small since I’m closer to retirement age (late 50s). I sell to family and friends maybe 1-2 x a month. I admit, it doesn’t pay particularly well, so maybe I’m crazy! Teaching classes is probably more profitable. I have become slightly obsessed, so I already follow Flour Box and many more on RUclips. I like Marlyn of Montreal Confections too because if there is a small booboo, she just keeps right on working and shows how she handles it. Good luck with the channel!
@@barbarap4630 Thanks so much! Yes, Anne from Flour Box, Montreal Confections and Haniela's are some of my favorite channels. I've learned a ton from them!

I love them all but my favorite might be the onesie or maybe the carriage--I've never been brave enough to try the basketweave. I like this kind of video with multiple designs--but I also like that you add tips as you go, especially the icing consistency you're using!
Thank you, Kathy! You should definitely give the basketweave technique a try. This was my first time trying it and it was so fun! And thanks for letting me know you like this video style... I really appreciate it! 😊

Just found your channel today and I can't stop watching the videos. Lovely ❤
@Sharilyn’s Cookie Studio I really enjoyed watching your video. Fantastic decor and techniques. Regarding the size tips for outline/flood I didn’t see it in the description just link to products. Can you share what sizes you were using? Thanks!
Hi Kelley! Thank you so much! I almost always outline and flood with a number 2 tip, so I'd guess that's what I'm using here. I hope that helps!
I like this format but there are sometimes I would love explications. Like how you write so well on the icing and do you let your cookies dry alert the fill in coat, before adding the top decorations like the basket weave. Thanks for you for sharing you’re beautiful cookies.
Hi Sharon! Thanks so much for your feedback! I'm definitely going to be more thorough from now on in my explanations. That's good to know! Just to answer your questions here, I use a projector to help with writing on cookies; it's a godsend! If you missed my video on it, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/mKIg0ruxd4I/видео.html And the base coat needs to dry for a few hours at least before adding details. For the basketweave, I let it dry overnight to make sure it was fully dry since I was putting so much on it. I hope that helps!
Thank you that really helps. I have an overhead from my teaching days, but never thought to use it for cookies. Thank so much for answering me.

Hi Sharilyn. Your cookies are amazing. I'm curious how you write the word baby onto the iced cookie (what tools you use) as well as the tip size you use for icing over the word baby. Thanks so much!
Hi Jillian! Thank you so much! I used my projector (Kopykake) to project the word onto the cookie and I used the Rainbow Dust dual ended marker to trace. Then I used a PME 1.5 tip to fill in with the icing. I hope that helps!
Amazing work🥇
I love the whole set!!
Thank you so much, Jacqueline!
Hello, these cookies are so lovely, please tell me if these colors comes with this shine already or you added something to make them like pearl look thank you ❤
Hi! I didn't add anything to the icing. It actually dries fairly matte so it may be the lighting making it look more pearlescent. If you're going for that look, you can add some light corn syrup to your royal icing and dry in front of a fan, and that will help add some shine!
So cool! What consistency was used for the brush embroidery?
Thank you! I used piping consistency for the brush embroidery 😄
Saw a few videos and I really liked yours the best
Yay! I love to hear that. Thanks, Sylvia!
You have the patience of Job🤍 beautiful
😂Thank you, Shannon!
I want to start making these types of cookies. Do you have any tips on how I should begin? Also where can I get the tools to start. Thank you.
Hi Emilie! My best advice is to just watch as many decorating videos on RUclips as you can. There are also lots of cookie decorators who do classes but I think you can learn everything you need to know to get started from free RUclips videos. That's what I did! And I always link the products I'm using in my description box if you want to see. All you really need to get started are some couplers and tips (you can use tipless bags too but I think they're a little harder to use when you're first learning), and some bags. You can get all of that at Hobby Lobby, Amazon, etc. Good luck!
Wow absolutely loved this!!! I'm feeling inspired to try and make some of my own! Thank you so much for taking the time to make a video like this!!
Hi Julisa! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Super cute cookies. When using 20 second icing, how do you get it to hold its shape when you do roses and small details like the basket weave? My icing also flows out of the tip too quick and I don’t know how to prevent that from happening. Any suggestions?
Thank you, Michelle! So for roses and details that hold their shape, you'll need to use thicker icing. I have a video that goes into more detail on that here: ruclips.net/video/sqyOryPEefE/видео.html And I've had that happen where the icing falls out of the tip. For me, that usually tells me my icing is too thin (that's a personal preference though, but usually 20 second icing won't fall out of the tip unless the tip is larger, like a size 3 or 4). If you like your icing that consistency, you could always put a glass/cup where you're decorating so when you need to put your bag down, you can put it in the glass with the opening up, which will prevent the icing from falling out. I'll do that occasionally if I need to use a larger tip with my flood icing. I hope that helps!
I love this type of video. I have a general sense of how to make sugar cookies and the icing consistencies- so this helps me learn techniques! That’s just me though 😃
Hi Martha! I'm so glad this type of video is helpful. Thanks for the feedback! 😄
Would you mind sharing what tips you are using? I never know if I should use a 0, a 1, a 1.5, or a 2 for detail work. And the middle flower on the heart cookie, what tip is that? Thank you!
Hi Melissa! Yes, I'll definitely start doing that. I believe the flower in the middle of the heart cookie is a Wilton 21.
Do you have a video that shows the actual icing you use, ho long after making then cookies should we decorate them, a specific recipe for cookies
Hi Wendy! Yes, I have the videos with my icing and cookie recipes linked in the description box. You can find them here: ruclips.net/video/O2fwD30KLxM/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/mwvNjGX1fe4/видео.html And you can decorate them anytime after the cookies are baked! I recommend letting the cookies fully cool off before decorating, but after that, you can decorate them up to several days after they're baked (just make sure they're in an airtight container to keep them fresh). I hope that helps!
I LOVE THIS STYLE of video.
Good to know! Thank you!
Sherilyn, I love watching you work, I learn from that but it’s also nice to have instructions or pointers is always nice. Like how many colors and how much RI per color, do you make just one consistency of each color or more? That sort of logistical stuff I think no one really talks about. Beautiful set!
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much! And I really appreciate the feedback and ideas. I always love hearing what's helpful. I'll keep that in mind for future videos!

I really enjoyed your video. It was self explanatory and I was able to process what you were doing when you weren't speaking. I think this is a great format. It would be nice to have a bit of an explanation when make a video about a specific technique. I definitely think there is room for both style of video each with its own purpose. Over all I think for your decorating videos like this one your format was great and you should continue it! Best of Luck :)
My fave design was the baby outfit because I loved the ruffle design.
Thanks so much for your feedback, Angelica! I really appreciate it!
So beautiful, just wondering did you use a projector for the word baby
Yes, I did! I use a Kopykake projector
Don't talk yourself out of it, just be patient, move slow and and keep trying until you like what you've done. If another human can do it, so can you, it's in the icing consistency & technique
Do you do all this decorating in one day? How do you get you cookies to not dry out as you wait between drying times? I am so afraid to start selling my cookies because I bake them, then the next day I decorate...but with the dry time and all my kids...it may be day three or four before I finish them....
You may be surprised how long these cookies will stay fresh! Once you have the base coat of icing on, that helps keep the moisture in the cookie, so you are able to leave it out to allow for dry time. Once the icing is fully dry I put them in airtight containers or bags to help with the freshness, but they will be totally fine to leave out while they're drying.
Do you use your piping consistency icing for the lettering, as well as the wheels and the little outlines on the top of the carriage? Thanks!
Love this video btw, those cookies are gorgeous 😍
Thank you so much! Yes, all of those details are piping consistency. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Hi there, do you use the same consistency for your outlining and flooding? Do you mind sharing the recipe for that? Thanks so much! I love your work!!
Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, normally I use the same consistency for outlining and flooding, and you can find the recipe I use here: ruclips.net/video/O2fwD30KLxM/видео.html I hope that helps!

Hi Sharilyn!! I've never baked a cookie in my life, and I was wondering if I could just use an already made frosting for my sugar cookies? If so, which do you recommend??
Hello! If you're wanting to do designs like these, I would recommend making the royal icing yourself. I haven't personally heard of a good royal icing recipe that you can buy. If you just want to ice them and not do intricate designs, then yes, you can definitely do that! I personally love a buttercream frosted sugar cookie and believe you can buy tubs of it from some grocery stores.
@@SharilynsCookieStudio Thank you soo much! I already bought the ingredients from your icing ingredients list, and for the cookie dough. I figured that following your recipes would be the most successful way for me to go. I even went to buy a mixer with a stand because I only had the hand held one. I also got the cookie cutters and a beautiful tray to put them on. As you can tell, I'm really excited about doing these cookies! And I was inspired to do so by your lovely videos. So pretty 😍 what this gold exactly is? I would love to use it on my cookies , but I’m new to this, and don’t know what I can use . If you just saw my comment 🙏🏻
Hi Victoria! This gold is Imperial Gold by CK Products. It's non-toxic, so I would recommend doing your own research on if you're comfortable using it. There are also fully edible gold dusts on the market, but they don't have quite the same pop. Let me know if you have any questions!
What luster dust do you use? Any I have are never so shiny gold. They tend to be a bit more dull gold
Hi! I use Imperial Gold by Celebakes and Super Gold by Truly Mad Plastics. These are considered non-toxic but non-edible so it's up to you what you're comfortable with. If you want an edible luster dust I think The Sugar Art has the best ones!
On onesie cookie for ruffled effect on edge are you using flood consistency or piping consistency icing?
Hi Rose! I'm using piping consistency for the ruffles 😊
I will like a more real time video with a walkthrough the types of icing in school part . You are awesome
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
Can you make a video on how you add the coloring to your royal icing? Do you use gel or liquid food coloring?
Hi! Yes, I need to get a video made about how I color my icing! In the meantime, I almost always use Americolor gel colors. I'll occasionally use Wilton as well. I hope that helps!
I’m planning on making cookies for my baby shower. How far in advance could I make the cookies but still have them be good for the shower date? Thank you! ☺️
Hi Bree! Congratulations!! I am so sorry I'm so late in getting back to you. In case you're still wondering, you can make cookies quite awhile in advance if you freeze them. You can freeze decorated cookies in the freezer... just make sure you seal them airtight and let them come fully to room temperature before opening the container/bag. I'd be comfortable freezing a few months in advance but I've heard of people having success for much longer (up to a year). I hope that helps!

If you do, let me know how it goes! Good luck!
How long would these keep? I have a baby shower on sat hoping to make them on Tuesday or wed before ?
Hi Meg! I'm so sorry I didn't see your question until now! These cookies will keep for a couple of weeks if they're stored properly (in an airtight container). You can also freeze them if you need them to keep for longer. Just make sure they're airtight and they come to room temp completely before exposing them to air to make sure the icing doesn't form condensation. I hope that helps!
What size tip are you using to pipe the writing on the "baby" cookie?
What did you do to get the image of the word on your cookie?
Hi Samantha! I'm using a PME 1.5 tip for piping the word baby. And I use a Kopykake projector to transfer the font onto the cookie. I talk more about that in this video: ruclips.net/video/mKIg0ruxd4I/видео.html I hope that helps!

I wanted to ask the same thing. I would like to do a monogram..
Hi Shanteria! Thanks so much! I used an edible marker to write the word "baby" and I used my Kopykake projector to project the image onto my cookie to trace. I have a video that talks about it here: ruclips.net/video/mKIg0ruxd4I/видео.html I hope that helps! If you're just starting out, I would recommend printing words out in the font you'd like to use and tracing over them with your icing first to get some practice. Writing with icing has a bit of a learning curve and I still haven't mastered it! Just have fun with it and know it gets easier the more you practice!
