That's understandable. I practice sword, and when we did a local demonstration, we had someone join our club thinking the same thing, "Oh, that looks easy. Just get a sharp sword and swing away." Actually, there's a lot of technique to it...as she found out soon enough ;-) If there is a sword club near you, though, you should try it. LOTS of fun!
I've studied the video more carefully, and I have to agree with you on many points, especially the potential of hurting himself or others. This is especially true of the tsubame cut at 2:47 TOWARDS HIS LEG! My sensei would make me go put down my sword so he could then kick the crap out of me for being so reckless. So thanks for the comments, and I'll know better what I'm looking at next time.
@scottbaioisdead ...quite presumptuous...he is skilled...why shouldn't he use the sword like that? the curve is wrong placed? ok, but come on, he succeded anyway in the cut! do you judge one's ability only for the correct way to wear a sword? ok...then he'll cut you down during the time in wich you are trying to move "correctly"
idk, looks easy to me. But i've never held a sword before lol. Guess I really don't know what's going on here... still looks like anyone could do it though.
No, no, my friend. It doesn't work like that. I'm not criticizing anyone. You're the one who wrote "this guy doesn't have very good technique," so you're the one doing the criticizing, so it's up to you to offer an affirmative defense. But tell you what, why don't you just tell me what you find wrong with his technique and we'll take it from there. Personally, I hold shodan rank from the US Batto-do Federation, and I don't offer my technique as exemplary--again, I'm not criticizing, you are.
Anyone is proficient in tameshigir with a hira zukuri style blade. it's basically a paper thin blade with little to no niku, and no shinogi. These take virtually no skill.
crazy! this man is a famous actor in korea. choi min soo. a-list movie star, comparable to stallone or schwarzeneger...i never knew he was such a proficient swordsman!

His cuts are clean👌🏻 especially the second one.
Scalpel sharp....
Amazing technique.
La katana e la spada numero 1!!!!
Great cuts
Mai visto niente di simile!! bravissimo!!!
Battodo coreano??
This is different from Iaido in Japan. This is unique to Korea.
Not really
3:26 Kaminary no kokyu ishi no kata! Hekireki issen!! ROKUREN!!!!!!
Incredible
It's not a katana, it's a tachi
Strictly speaking not Batto but Tameshigiri, nice to see 👍
Fun to watch!
gooood and cooool
i want to try ^^
are u still alive?
😀👍👍👍
Super
That last cut is a hard one. I am impressed.
1:15 omg
SAMURAI 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵👍👍👍
ghost of tsushima!!
Outstanding sword control. I like how he chooses the tachi over a katana to suit his strength. You must make the sword style your own.
Wow
lol second cut either he was like HOLY FUCK IT STAYED ON, or hes just elite

it's a tachi so the sharp edge faces downward
Tinggi
He's Zenitsu father
Oh, so his form is not so good? Thanks for that. Where are your videos, so that I can see proper form?

flipa como sega esparto el chinorri

Compare this to the videos of Americans using katanas to chop into oil drums!

Poor Japanese have mistaken the art of the sword with the art of the butcher
Siljun Dobup
Ridiculous. I practiced kendo and daikatana and didn't do as he does.

im not buying into this iscam
