Thanks for watching! If you want to check out the new rules they are free on OPRs website! (Link in description) I will be posting a video going over them later today as well :)
I read "it's grimmer... It's darker..." and my brain automatically went "It's futurer..." Great video as always! Can't wait to finish my Wood Elves army and try some AoF3.0!
I definitely think the Caster rules are more interesting and interactive than previously. It's not a mindless "either your one spell goes off or it doesn't" kind of thing. It also makes it less detrimental to try countering casts, since you're not forgoing your one cast to do it.
I need to find people who play OPR. Such a better system than 40k. It's amazing how well a company can balance a game when they aren't trying to sell you models.
I really like the way magic workes now. Makes it feel worth it taking a spell caster instead of just having psychic because it was an option on someone. I also like reliable for framers. Getting 6 attacks with a guardsmen and missing all of thebflamers attacks sucks lol.
I haven't been able to play yet with the beta rules but just reading Caster seems like a much better system than the old Psychic rules. I like that multiple casters are able to support each other.
With the soul snatchers if you had the snatcher lord joined to the unit and thus had two models with psychic in the unit would they be able to support each other?
Yeah that makes sense that's how I thought it would work. I'm assuming only one could cast a spell per turn since they are in the some unit / activation ? I know the Psychic synapse rules still exists for the Psychic floaters which specifically gives one model caster(x) and the models others grant extra tokens
This looks really cool. Like a more streamlined/better/faster version of 40k. And with such a plethora of 3d printed models out there, many of which are better than GW's stuff and nowhere near as pricey... I think I definitely need to check this and try to convince people to give it a try.
I just found this game and it's love at first sight. Started playing 40k in 3rd edition and couldn't buy a new rule system after 6-7 or 7-8 came out back to back. Now I can use ALL my minis again. And there are solo rules!!!!!!
Justin, so keen for this. New battlemap looks sick too. Love you making use of the factory from the previous vid. What did you do for the trees, need to copy that they look great too. Only up to round 1.
Thanks man! I did a video on the trees as well! I'm pretty happy with how they came out. I usually put links to the terrain builds in the description FYI :)
Great video! You have excellent models and terrain. I couldn't help but notice your choice of terrain rules. Have you considered playing with the official rules for hills/ruins/forests/etc? I must have played half a dozen games before I realized that the official terrain rules carried multiple keywords for each piece of terrain. Cheers and keep it up! I'm subscribing!
Thanks! Well as far as line of sight I don't really have any plans to use anything other than true line of sight. They added two other options for players to use if you didn't see that. Other than the forest nodes being impassable I think we pretty much do follow the official rules. The only reason I use the impassable rule for my forests is because they're so dense. if I ever make more forest terrain in the future I might not make it so dense. I just try to use whichever terrain profile makes sense. I also think having some impassable terrain really adds a lot to the battle map.
Cool! Your forests look great btw. In the terrain rules, a forest is cover within and line of sight breaking on either side. Check out page 15 of the advanced rulebook. It adds a cool dynamic to the game!
My only question with the new magic system is: Do magic users generate magic dice when they’re in transports or off the table? I.e. deployed on the table in a transport OR off in ambush?
@@hauntswargaming I'll have to check that out. Trying to learn about making BRs. You guys do some great work. Would love to see a video on your process and setup.

Great to someone covering OPR 3rd ed, nice terrain too.
Thanks!
Yeah, the terrain is pretty sweet.
Love me some OPR. Thanks for putting this together 🥳
You're welcome! Thanks for the support!

This is REALLY a gorgeous video. Looking forward to more from the channel!
Thank you :)
OPR 3.0! Xenos everywhere! Great terrain! Snappy editing!
More of this please XD
Thank you :) I'll be posting these monthly again now!
Thanks for this. Keep them coming!
Will do! Thanks for the comment :)

Love the channel man. Looking forward to more 3rd Ed opr games
Thanks, I Appreciate the support! More bat reps are on the way. I'm trying to get to the point where I can post 2 per month :)
Awesome that you are using the OPR models, really cool to see those in action! :D

Yea the caster change really adds a new dimension to the game!
@hauntswargaming I agree. It makes it cool too because you can cast AND try to block if you have the tokens for it instead of picking between the 2
This was neat. Thank you
Great production value and wow that terrain is gorgeous under that lighting
Thanks!

Yea, it's a lot better. I'm not quite sold on the blind bidding for modifiers yet though.
With the soul snatchers if you had the snatcher lord joined to the unit and thus had two models with psychic in the unit would they be able to support each other?
@@legatus_newt I would assume they would use tokens independently. So they could add modifiers but they couldn't combine tokens to cast spells.
Yeah that makes sense that's how I thought it would work. I'm assuming only one could cast a spell per turn since they are in the some unit / activation ? I know the Psychic synapse rules still exists for the Psychic floaters which specifically gives one model caster(x) and the models others grant extra tokens
I realized I have a very caster heavy list now 😂
The table is fantastic! Nice and concise playthrough as well.
Thanks!
Quality videos ! Quality games !
Thanks! I do put a lot of work into these :p
That was a great video, I want to play this now :). Thank you for making this video.
You should! It's an easy game to get into

Keep up the good work, we love OPR here! I have not gotten in a game of 3rd yet but hoping to soon. Game on!
Awesome! Thanks for the support!
Subbed for the OPR 3 content. Love seeing someone cover this.
Appreciate it!

Thanks for showing the new rules!
Great report! In the 3rd round, the soul-snatchers had to been destroyed because they're under 50%, isn't it?
Yea I must have missed that 😅
This is awesome keep them coming
Wonderful work!
Thank you :)
Appreciate going a little slower when rolls were being done. And new rules.
really great looking board full of interesting terrain.
Thanks :)

WOW!!... very nice terrain!!! ... awesome...
Thanks 😊
Awesome finally!! Try age of fantasy too!
We'll get some Age of Fantasy in at some point 👍
@@hauntswargaming 🥳
Very Nice AAR. I see you do not use the advance orders, Hunker down and Stealth move would have been useful. Is this a choice ?
Yea, I think most people just use the core rules.
@@hauntswargaming too bad with the full rules the game is almost like bolt action with suppressing fire and opportunity fire
Love the table! Is that a mat? Where is it from?
Yea, it's the junkyard mat from FLG
My only question with the new magic system is:
Do magic users generate magic dice when they’re in transports or off the table? I.e. deployed on the table in a transport OR off in ambush?
I assume they would
What do you guys use to make all the neat graphics for your videos? Great BR!

Great setup. What kind of camera are you using?
Thanks! It's linked in the description.
Those tokens are awesome, did you print and paint them?
Yea! I changed the proportions around a little bit so I could print them flat on the plate.
Beutiful Paint Scheme and board
Thanks!
What was the points played for this game?
Around 1k. The list builder/points costs were in the process of being worked on at the time, so I tried to make it as even as possible.
please make a tutorial on how you made the terrain
Check in the description. I probably did :p
Is this the skirmish version of the game or the larger version?
The larger version.
Sounds much more streamlined and less I'm gunna table you turn 1
One or more DIFFERENT spells. Worded poorly but after the fact I can see what they mean
