Great video, handy for a noob to see some rules in action. Ive collected warhammer for a long time but never really got into playing it much due to time/work, just found one page rules and it seems so much simpler to just pick up and play, i dont have to read multiple tomes to work something out :D Good stuff.
I've never played combat patrol. I would say it's more like kill team probably. OPR makes a pretty great game system. The way the company is set up equates to a more balanced gaming experience compared to the way GW does things. No constant meta churning.
@@hauntswargaming Sounds great, definitely looking forward to looking into it, now if I can just get people locally interested... my area is diehard 40k, to where people won't look at something like this even if they can use 40k models.
@@Nobleshield that is the hard part lol I'm hoping the improved game balance brings more people in. The game has really blown up over the last 2 years. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops with v3.
Question on that bloody unit coherence role. Does this only count for units that come with more than 1 model, or do all my models need to be close to each other? I guess the first (and hope).
I love GDF and GDFF… Im still confused on stunned models… after they have been stunned (and were never activated in that round) do they not activate until the next round? And will activating be there only action? What happens if they have been activated in a round and get stunned? Same thing?
I've seen some really impressive results with fdm. It's harder to dial in (and slower) but it is possible to get decent quality with fdm. There's a guy on the OPR reddit who has been printing the new dwarf guilds models and they look really good for fdm! Dwarf Guilds sculpts are pretty beefy so that probably helps :p
It can be played by people who have busy lives. Even 10th edition 40k is inaccessible to normal people with children, careers, and other hobbies. I feel like 40k is more of a lifestyle than a hobby. There are health insurance policies with rules less complicated than 40k.
@@bryanblalack4340 Saurians moved into space isn't that original. The game in general is what I was referring to, however. There is very little that is new under the sun. Just like fantasy literature owes its existence to Tolkien, most tabletop wargaming owes it to GW.
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to hit that like button! 👍
Such an elegant rule set...it's basically what I play kill team with these days.
Thanks for the weekly reminder of how awesome games can look with great paint and great terrain.

What a great batrep!
The beautiful models and terrain really pushes it into the awesome dimension 😃
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
your terrain is gorgeous!
Thanks :)
"Don't forget, Dinosaurs have tiny brains so mind attacks don't work!" Hahaha thats awesome
I am enjoying the game play and terrain. Keep up the great batreps
Good and short video about the rules. Great terrain.
thank you :)
Sick paint jobs on those models!
@@HenryIVth thanks!
Have you ever played with optional rules? I routinely use the Extra Actions since they are intuitive and easy to remember.
Yeah we've tried using a few! We will probably just stick to the basic rules for a while since v3 just came out.
Enjoyed this! Great set up
Glad to hear it! Thanks! :)
Thay was great !
Thanks! :)
Great stuff! Are you guys just tracking fatigue in memory?
@@nassozeebo yea, we don't use tokens for that
love that terrain!
Sooo nice Terrain love it
Thanks 😀
I'm just learning about OPR and GDF, coming from 40k. This is roughly like Kill Team I guess? Or is it closer to like Combat Patrol in 40k?

Beautiful!

Great Video guys, is there any place to get good quality tokes for this game or ideas how to make my own?
I believe OPR provides the files for free. There are 3rd party options as well

Yeah, it's just for units with more than one model.
@@hauntswargaming thank you, makes much more sense to me know, thinking like Kill Team all the time and then reading unit coherency
The terrain is really good
Thanks!

They have to use their next activation to remove the shaken/pinned token
We have to get you to 10k subs 😊🎉
That would be awesome :p it's close! The channel is on route to hit it before the end of the year, which would be a big milestone.
So what is your opinion on 3d printing minis with FDM printers instead of resin printers?

Loveee the terrain! Maybe add a bit of background music during the game though, it felt a tad bit too unenthusiastic sometimes
I'm no fan of Games Workshop's money-making strategy, but watching this game played is like viewing a North Korean counterfeit or a Chinese knock off.

@@cam2designs BULLSHIT. Tabletop gaming is far older than GW!
