- I've been a fan of Super Cruise ever since experiencing it in the Silverado High Country. I'm happy to report that it works just as well in this 2023 Cadillac CT4!

Thank you for the real world demo, I'm looking to get an Xt6 with this feature, main reason I'm buying a Caddy.
Driving a Corolla, I am always shocked to see the speeds at which y'all can take turns in some of these cars lol. You just point the front end and it goes
HAHA my 2007 corolla can take turns at mind & soul bending speeds also
@@StargateDav the poors are at it again
my 8 speed cvt automatic in my corolla will leave u in the past & the dust with me flying by you blowing your doors off with it anytime anyplace@@cheesefries7436
Imagine driving a crappy slow Toyota
“Ooo it’s gonna still get over and go in front of a semi!” Best part of the video! Plan on purchasing a CT4 on Monday.
Edit to say at least it seemed to speed up.
How's the CT-4 ? No issues???
Very noisy expansion joints in Michigan. In February 24' I bought a 24' CT4 Sport 2.0 with the Onyx Package. It came with 19' wheels and Brembo front brakes. I'm not an SUV/CUV/whatever person. I'm 69' and 6'4" with a bad back and it can be a bear to get in and out of. I still like it (-; Hear me?
I've been debating on getting the ct4 or a tesla. Im scared of Tesla's phatom braking tho - and the quality issues. altho the CT4 interior is kinda weak. as someone with "OCD" lol, idk if I can handle teslas quality issues. Im now sold on the ct4 cause of this video. thanks!
Relaxing vid 😁
I was torn between this and an Integra. I went with Acura, but this is a nice car.
Super-cruise did the Cannonball Run
my 2019 Ford Edge lane centering would have handled that off ramp like a boss
What king of highway is that in you hear and feel the road joint every second.
These 2-lane (per side) highways look so strange to me being from Southern California. We generally don’t go smaller than 4, and 5 is pretty standard. I worry that the system is not assertive enough to make lane changes in moderate traffic based on what I’m seeing.
I have just rented the Cadillac CT-4 . I had requested a Chrysler 300 but when I got to the rental agency, I was offered a new Cadillac , big mistake the car rode terribly, i'm 6-4 so when i was driving there was no room for anyone to sit behind me , my wife is 5-2 so there was room behind her seat. i had a 2020 toyota camry and it's basically the same car as far as ride quality and interior room. The whole experience was just a disappointment.
I have a Kia EV6 and there might be a chance it'll take a corner that sharp. But the real problem is that the HMG cars will just turn off LKA without any warning because it's 100% a level 2 system where you're supposed to always have your hands on the wheel.
It probably went with the semi because maybe it was coming towards you slower than the other cars 🤷♀
Curious how it will react when in the right lane, and it sees an emergency vehicle pulled over on the shoulder. Will it slow down and move to the left lane?
I wish you could get the NA 3.7 V6 that comes in the Camaro instead of the turbo 4.
Nothing alil money & crate engine can’t change 😅
It’s a 3.6 v6 not 3.7
Wow... That's a lot of torque 😂
I’m looking to buy the 2022 ct4 they are cheap, I can get one for around 23 to 25 grand with low mileage
Everything looks nice about the caddilac except that tiny shitty screen. It looks so 2015. Really need a bigger or just updated screen. The gauge cluster being all digital is for sure 2023 but the middle screen is lacking big big time.
Putting a lot of trust in those systems
JESUS these shifts are INSANELY QUICK! IS that a DCT?
Did you get a chance to compare the Ford BlueCruise with Super Cruise?
Supposed you put a mannequin in the seat with prosthetic eyes, would it read that and just keep on going?
Electronic components make up that 16% of parts content.
how does it handle if you are wearing sunglasses?
How do you think of it compared to BMW's driving assit professional package? I am debating to get a CT4 or 330i. Thanks in advance.
What did u get? Kinda curious lol
@@Bismarckkobe 330i xdrive. driver asst pro pkg is hard to find tho.
I am low key sad, I hate these new ct4 & ct5's the ct6 was so much nicer...
Never really understood the advantage of self driving functionality only on mapped roads. Is there a reason why anyone would want this over say a modern Hyundai or Honda with lane centering + ACC? Like you mentioned these cars can pretty much drive themselves on highways and take those exit turns easily. They also aren't restricted to mapped highways.
The only difference I can really see is perhaps mapped road self driving is more "confident" on these mapped roads? But even then highways are like 99% marked with lane indicators so a regular lane center assist could do the job just as well.
(1) don't have to touch the wheel, (2) auto lane-change
do honda and hyundias drive handsfree and pass slow cars/automatically change lanes?
Supercruise is more autonomous than the brands you mentioned. That being said, Cadillac should have an option for autonomous lane-centering even when Supercruise isn't available. That would make the system like Mercedes or Hyundai and allow for the driver to simply have their hand on the wheel while the car makes the adjustments on road
@@nithinr818Subaru has the same lane centring with ACC and it works awesome on all roads with line. You have to bump the steering wheel every 20 seconds though.
8:32 that was very bad from the super cruise
does it interact with gps navigation so that it knows where to take you?
no
Ugh just looked it up, and you need a super cruise subscription to use the feature. What a pain.
nooooooo. major pain
@@TopherDrives Quick googling says the first 3 years of ownership are free, then 25/mo
53k with supercruise?
What a small screen for nav, on a Cadillac to boot, geez.
Erm I have been driving for over 30 years and a computer engineer, I would have that option removed from my car forthwith.
It’s actually amazing for highway driving. I’m also an engineer and I was skeptical until I tried it recently for several hours of highway driving. You feel really relaxed after a long trip with this feature, and it is surprisingly reliable for point and shoot long distances.
The steering wheel light is dumb
That’s how you know the status of the system. I agree though, they could have put those lights anywhere else. Maybe as heads up display, or on the dash. Would rather there be leather on the wheel.
Tiny screen
So for $7700.00 I can have a feature that I have to sit in the seat, watch out the window, and do nothing with my hands, otherwise it will yell at me for things like being on my phone or not fully paying attention. For $7700.00 it sounds like I just bought another wife, which I already have in the passenger seat… I think I’ll pass, but nice car though.
Don’t pass judgement until you try it. I was also skeptical but once I did a few road trips in mine, I was so refreshed after hours of highway driving it was crazy the difference. You don’t realize how much concentration it takes to hold the wheel and keep it in the lane. While hands free, you can casually eat a sandwich, you can glance at the scenery out the side windows, and you can just all together relax more. It’s nothing like a nagging wife!
Oh i do not like the super cruise feature, I have been driving for for 40 years and would not go near that, me hands on the wheel at all times.
Think about when your in traffic how nice it is 👌🏼
At least it's not Tesla's autopilot
According to the NHTSA, America averaged 37,000 road fatalities per year, that's 37,000 people with both hands on the steering wheel. Since Tesla introduced Autopilot in 2014, there have been 24 deaths related to Tesla's FSD. GM introduced Supercruise in 2017, to this day, zero fatalities. So what do you think is safer?, numbers don't lied.
The fact that there are any deaths with Teslas autopilot is enough for me to never trust autopilot
@thevikingchannel8117 according to the National Highway Institute, there's 43,000 fatal crashes PER year in America involving hands on driving, since Tesla introduced Tesla FSD in 2014, to this day, there's 481 deaths involving FSD. So what so you trust more? Tesla's 48 deaths per, or 43,000 deaths per year involving hands on driving?
wow almost 8k for something most other brands have standard,,, no thanks
Only ford offers something comparable, bluecruise. Supercruise maps the roads and uses that in addition to ACC ultrasonic and vision sensors.
