😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
We only cruise and it’s the best vacation ever. Someone else is driving and you pick what food you want and how much. What entertainment you want or just chill. Plenty of time to talk to people if you want. It’s the best.
Great video! I'm from Ensenada but now I live in the US, and this video made me happy to see my homeland.
Hello Ambassadors
The food looked amazing. My mouth was watering while Chris was eating those fish tacos.
Thanks for taking us to Ensenada!
Love you guys❤️❤️🇹🇷🇹🇷
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve been on two cruises. One through the Greek islands which I highly recommend. The other was a Mediterranean cruise. I had never been to Europe and this cruise hit several countries I had always wanted to visit, Spain, France and Italy. I hit all the major cities with the convenience of having all my belongings in one “hotel” not to mention all the great food both on and off the ship.
Cruises are the way to go for exactly those reasons. Plus there’s something romantic about being on a luxury cruise ship
What a great spot to try tostadas mariscos for your first time it will be hard to top that Sabina is a legend 🙌🏽❤️💛💚
Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
Thanks for watching and coming along on the challenge with us 🌷👍
What a fun and festive taco tour! Loved the terrific energy! 🎉❤
Man I could murder those fish tacos- and the tostada….insanely good. And what I also love about your videos is the information and history whether it’s about an area or food. Great video xxx
Cool...
Yes before we started camping. We used to do cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise in the Mediterranean, we where on Allure of the Seas. & Freedom of the seas.
We loved it stoping off in different places . The food on them was fabulous eat what you want. All you can eat .
We have been on 40 cruises since our honeymoon in 1980. Just a nice way to get away and not worry about anything. Transportation, food and entertainment all included.
Went to Ensenada on a cruise ship but then went on a wine country tour. Next time I go here I go for fish tacos after watching this!
My husband and I are going on our first cruise next month to celebrate our 30th anniversary and his mother's 80th birthday. We love the beach, so we've always flown to the islands (Grand Cayman and St. Thomas are our favorites), but my husband's whole extended family is going so it's more like a family reunion. There will probably be about 50 of us. I'll let you know how it goes!🤪
Oh wow - yes do !!
The first time I went to Alaska was about 20 years ago. I was surprised to see a Mexican consulate in Anchorage and very surprised to see how big it is. It's not a small storefront but a two story building that was mostly for handling the seasonal Mexican workers who come to Alaska to work in the summer months. That suggested we might find Mexican restaurants, which are in Anchorage and a few other cities. There is a place in Anchorage that has another restaurant in Homer and that was where I had the best fish taco I've ever eaten. I lived near Palm Springs and we have some very good Mexican places here & we've been to Baja three times. The Japanese influence on seafood in Baja is exemplary and the sushi is a real treat. In Homer, I had fish tacos made with freshly caught halibut that were the best I've ever had. They were on fairly large flour tacos with two big pieces of halibut, lightly breaded, and served with the condiments you show in the video. Homer, BTW, is not a big town but is a very good place to put your fork on a plate. We have a local dish here that was originally made in a Mexican restaurant in Indio. They are called guerittos and are broiled yellow peppers stuffed with shrimp & cheese and served with mayo! and soy sauce! A Japanese condiment and a French one - who knew. Guerittos can be found all over the valley and they are really good. The peppers vary, but can be really hot so be mindful and use more mayo.
Today you made me hungry😂😂😂…I am so glad you guys are enjoying Mexico…just be careful where you go, some areas are fine and some others not so secure.
The difference that a cruise ship and Mardi Gras makes! Ensenada was a ghost town compared to when we were there. Think we needed you as our food tour guides, those fish tacos looked incredible. And those tostada's! 🤤Lots of love xx 💕
I was on a cruise ship docked at Ensenada the end of January but I didn't get off the ship. 😂
Thank you so much for sharing!! 😋 ❤ I look forward to trying it all soon.
Another Brilliant Video and Wow the food is sensational . Carry on having fun and stay safe xx
I love your foodie filming days!! 🤤🤤 Looked like a lot of hustle and bustle in Encenada that day! Lots of love from Mr. & Mrs. P.!!! ❤️❤️😎😁xx
It was so much fun - Road trip one day !! 🌺🙌💕
What a party.
Chris!!! An explosion of flavors?? Is a party in your mouth!!! Envious of your fish taco tasting!!!
Fabulous, awesome and fantastic❤❤❤enjoy 😊
Thanks 🤗
I enjoy this videos
Hi. Love this vlog. Pure food-po_n😂. It not only made me hungry but thirsty as well. You lovely guys, have a safe travel 🚐💨🤗
LOVE LOVE LOVE this video! I came across your channel and you’re doing an amazing job 😎 keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing with us. Can’t wait to experience Ensenada in December.
Crusies have their pro's and con's.. I like to think of most of them like "a taste of" event. You visit different ports and if done thoughtfully, you can get a taste of each location in your limited time.
Ensenada, wow what a place appears to be a great party town with great food and entertainment.
Wow, those fish tacos look fantastic. Loved all Mexican food when my wife and I visited Playacar many years ago.
Keep up your great content.
Keith.
What an amazing place.
I’ve been to LA and San Francisco a few times. Next time I’ll aim for San Diego and see if I can get a trip to Ensenada.
Thank you.
You might want to go to Puerto Nuevo nearby for a great lobster lunch. Pricey now but worth it. Hola from Ecuador.
Thanks for the tip!
Yes done a cruise , loved it, ❤
Thanks Angie - We'll have to try one in the future x
@@TREADtheglobe it’s like a comfy tour no driving no cooking lol
My partner and l prefer travelling around out of the way places, but we have tried river cruises in Europe which we really enjoyed. This year we will do our first ocean cruise to the Arctic, on a ship with no casinos or fancy shows or children. You might prefer to have more happening on your cruise ,should you give one a try. Blessings from Adelaide. SA.
Hello my friends stay healthy safe and blessed my friends ❤🦋♥️💕🥰
This is great caption of food that I am drooling
I have actually been on the Ensenada cruise. Ensenada used to be very dirty. We were greeted by the poorest of the poor I’ve ever seen panhandling for food and money. The first stop on the typical cruise is Santa Catalina out from Los Angeles. Then the next stop is Ensenada, a day at sea and then Long Beach Harbor to complete the 4 day cruise. A complete side note the Caesar salad is originally from Tijuana.
While in Australia, take a 3 day cruise with all inclusive food and drinks*. Some are about $350 per person. I didn’t see one but you might find one that could take you close to Antarctica, as travel blogger that is kind of a holy grail place to say you’ve been to.
Even though I’m vegetarian you still make me hungry watching you tuck into all these glorious looking food.
loved this
Great video .Would like more .Love you both very much Love S
Your food vids are my favourite
Love this video.
Did a cruise once. Never again😏
Nice. Next time try Corona fish tacos across the street from Fenix. 👌🏽
I would take travelling as you are over a cruise ship any day. I have done both.
Ensenada is famous for the Fender guitar factory😉
Fantastic video!!
Fish tacos…one could get hooked on them 🐟 🎣
I know this is gonna be a yummy video already 😋👏👏
Cruises not for me it’s looks like being a sardine in a can !!
How I love watching you enjoy food Chris 🤤🫶
LOL - and he really does love it 😂💕
Greetings from Portugal, why don't you go to South America?
Because on this current adventure we are driving around the world UK to the UK. South America will be a future season -
I think Ensenada was the "Titanic" movie filming location . It would have been cool if they had left the movie set up as a tourist attraction.
Getting the tostada, even with that huge line they took the time to chat and see exactly what and how you wanted it.
RIP tony b.
Anthony Bourdain's favorite fish taco stand... watch his video.
I don't like spicy but I love fish tacos. I'm starving now.
Looks like done awesome seafood…
I started going to Ensenada with my parents as a year old baby and all through my childhood until I got married we would go 2 to 3 times a year. Dad loved fishing and the beach. We stayed at a little motel called "El Patio" when I was a toddler and girl and then both the Estero Beach Resort and El Faro camping in a tent and then truck camper, next door to that. There also was a hot spring up in the hills about half way between the town and Estero that we frequented when I was really little. We also saw the blow hole La Buffadora which is a few miles South of Estero Beach. All fun! Used to eat the now banned Abalone and even to my amazement as a responsible adult, I ate Sea Turtle Soup as a child. I would not do so now even if it was legal as these animals are threatened or endangered depending upon species. We used to eat at the long gone "Ensenada Cafe" when I was a child up through perhaps about 1972.
hungry now ty hehe
👍👋🏻
I went on one 3-nights "cruise" on one of the Hurtigruten ferries from Tromso to Kirkenes and back. A combination of regular ferry service and cruise. Despite this and the short duration I found myself pacing all available areas of the ship. Not for me!!! I loved your streetfood tour and I also love Marguaritas
Merhaba.
💎💎💎💎💎
Is tacos fenix and tacos Castillo walking distance from the cruise ship port?
Did you nearly say “Tourist sh** shops”? 😂
güzel vlog türkiyemizi unutmayın yine bize gelin hayırlı yolculuklar😊
Afiyet olsun.
Thank you :)
I can taste those Fish Taco's all the way back here in the UK. Scummy. Are they also not just the friendliest of people there. ;-)
Sorry guys for asking i wanna travel back home for a few months but my insurance in uk just covers for 28 days and I don’t know what to do do you have any Idea what can I do to have a insurance that can covers Europe?
Email me directly to give me more info - email address is on the website - Marianne
Pretty Place but eating and having a good time is ONLY WHEN SHIP IS IN!!
When ship leaves … ALL PLACES CLOSE!!
We were very disappointed!
👍👍👍😇👍
How do the fish tacos compare to the fish and chips in the UK?
Chris said they are like mini battered fish - but the batter is more flavoursome 👍
Seems like overkill to have breaded fish in a tortilla, as the case with fish burgers.
"You know it must be good if it's been going that long." McDonald's was founded in 1940. Just sayin'.
👍😀
In an era where we are trying to mitigate fuel usage, cruise ships must be regarded by most environmentalists as the most offensive creation ever invented.
Pronounced “Tah-kos “ not Taaaaacose
Being stuck on a ship with a hoard of other people with poorly treated employees is not for me. Plus, too many people go missing from cruise ships.
The food looks delicious...
But I'd halt before eating raw fish!
I wouldn't even eat sushi..
The very thought makes me squimish!
Yep - that is me !! I am looking forward to Japan to see what I can eat !! Marianne
@@TREADtheglobe Like you , I can't eat really spicy food, but those toppings not spicy look yummy.
@@TREADtheglobe When do you expect to get to Japan?
First week of May - super excited !!
Cruise ships are for the newlywed, the overfed and the nearly dead, all others should avoid them. The ones in Ensenada are the worst. The ships block the entire view of the city for all the real sailors in the marina.
the food look amazing, wow
