I really hate that Apple does such an amazing job with their devices across the product line. They are "just that one step above" the competition, but they are still behind in so many minor things that would make them perfect.
Yeah that's just the thing isn't it.. One buys Apple products, not because we like their weird choices of.. Well, I don't even know what to call it, except maybe,.. "design"?? In favour of practicality.. While Apple themselves, seems to think their overall package is just GREEEAT!! Or they've just been f*ckin with us during the past decade or so.. Coz I seriously start to think that the top inner circle of Apple, is literary betting against one another how well made technically and for some products as well, ergonomically they can make something, while simultaneously making the most stupidly placed charging port (Da mouse) or in this case (no pun intended ; ) THAT CASE!! That completely, utterly, stupidly, impractical, nonfunctional, none protecting CASE!! That they LITERARY force you to use, since there's no other way of turning these headphones off.. And even then, EVEN THEN! They still aren't turned off as we heard.. No other company (apart from some really small obscure start up maybe..) would even think of something this DUMB!! And then actually go ahead and produce it!! I mean, normally you have focus groups to test if your new design is welcomed. But not Apple! Or they do it, but then just ignore the results and go ahead with the stupid design anyways. And if the betting hypothesis isn't what's going on, then I can only imagine it being either some hybris being the culprit, due to their massive success. And/or that someone, a bit to powerful, within the company, just wanted to do a friend of theirs a favour.. I.e. a completely impractical, style before purpose, fashion statement minded, pretentious, artistic friend.. Because that's the only thing this case screams tbh!!
In case it helps I highly recommend trying any headphone anything at all from Audeze Hifiman Abyss Sennheiser. Even 120 wired headphones plugged into a fiio dual dac Btr5 is significantly more resolving with a wider soundstage and better timbre than the Airpods Max.
So I testet the xm4 and the xm5 in a local shop, EQd them both to reach a more neutral soundprofile and figured out that they sound VERY similar. The only difference is, that the xm5 have a widespreaded bit warmer tonality and a more overall „matching“ instrument separation and „vibe“. Also the xm4s are a bit „noisier“ in the high highs, probably due to the warmer tone of the xm5s. Keep in mind that I tuned them to sound more neutral. Both with -1 clear base and +5 at 1000 and +4 at the next slider (to push the mids and highs a bit). But overall both headphones sound very similar, the xm4s have a slightly bit more physicality in the deeper base, but the punch is nearly the same in the higher base (and a SLIGHTLY bit more clearer on the xm5s, not really noticeable). The ANC is also very similar, Idk if the Auto Mode of the xm5 sucks and they can do better, but in the store with music and chattering and so on it was very similar. Both are very comfortable but in a different way. You really notice that the xm5s are 4g lighter and the cushioning on the earpads is more comfy (what surprised me lol) but you also feel the headband more, I only tested them about 30min. and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all, but more uncomfortable than the headband on the xm5s. Both earcups are comfortable, but in other ways. The xm5s are wider but therefore a bit more shallow, so both headphones reach the spacy feeling in different ways. I hope I could help you all.
I have both the XM4 and the XM5. For sound quality I can't tell the difference but for the noice canceling there is a huge improvement and also for phone calls the XM5 are much better. I have been outside walking on a busy street with traffic and airplnes flying very low and the other person couldn't hear any of it...so that's impressive..I am keeping the XM5 mainly because i can definitely make phone calls and the quality is now much better for calling my clients.
Different experience here. XM5 were a definite step up in sound quality, albeit a tad more uncomfortable after long sessions (4+ hours). Noise canceling is much worse because of software. XM5 have mandatory auto optimizer enabled at all times, and more often than not it miscalculates the necessary NC. 1 simple software toggle to disable auto optimizer and keep NC at max at all times would make it the best. Phone calls are indeed much much better with the XM5, almost as good as the airpods max.
Sony definitely needs a good naming scheme. It’s glaring when it’s too easy to mix up XM and MX. I’ve got the APM and the XM4’s. I’m having trouble justifying an XM5 when I already have an XM4. The APM are still my go-to over-ear headphones.
Yeah, i just got my delivery of the XM4s and love em. But if you already got a pair, you really don't need the XM5s since they ain't much far apart from the XM4s.

No reviewers are comparing airpod spatial audio vs Sonys 3D audio feature. That is one of the things I love most about the airpod max, the spatial audio. I love how it renders music. Could you give insight on that please and thank you!
Sticking with xm4 with xm3 as backup. Might get a second xm4 for backup instead. The multi device feature is why I upgraded. Giving away my nc700. Noise cancelation not as good and there is a bit of interference, not to mention lower battery life.
Love the Apple AirPods Max ambient mode. I hate to admit it, but it can be like a hearing aid. I understand the new AirPods Pro 2 may support a hearing aid mode using its case that might include a microphone. All in all I do like my AirPods Max.
One thing to notice here is that Airpods work fine with Apple products - they use Apple codec. With Android they only support most basic BT coded, no high quality coded here. So the review to be correct would need to cover both iPhone and Android mobiles to compare sound quality.
I would also agree with another commenter, you have a good channel and good reviews but when you have to edit over half of your video because you don’t even know the name of the product you’re reviewing, maybe scrap the video and reshoot. It’s hurts the otherwise professional layout of the video
Pretty good review, although a bit confusing, with lots of inserts of corrections in post production. So my tip would be to write a more clear script for yourself. Now I don't pretend that it's easy to make reviews that are as clear and concise as possible, while still communicating all the essential information, which is quite a bit! Especially when comparing three different headphones or other products. But you almost gt it, so just a bit more practise and you're there mate! Thumbs up! ..Though, two things that just got to fix immediately. You have to wipe of your table before making your reviews. coz it looks really tacky tbh. And get yourself a new table, or repaint the one you got, coz those four big chips also looks really tacky and they distract from the products that you put on the table. Sorry to give it to you like this, but I'm just that kind of person I guess. Not much filters left and bit to brutally honest in general..😏
Tbh I only have the xm4 and from all of the reviews I watched (both about xm4 and the max's), if ur an apple user then go for the max's, ofc if u have the budget/ or willing to pay that price for them, now, if u use android or u dont want to spend a lot for the apm then go with the sony's
I've finally got my XM5 (for 359.99 euros), and i'm loving it, so light, so comfortable, I'm using LDAC so I can get the best sound quality, and very important I can use the equalizer to my preference. I do have a pair of AirPods Max, but the trouble is that I live in Portugal, and here the temperatures can reach 109º Fahrenheit in the summer, I started to have a condensation problem on my AirPods Max, and with just a few minutes on my ears, finally after 2 months the condensation build on the drivers made it fail on the right cup, so I returned the AirPods Max, waiting for them to arrive from Apple repair service and as soon as they arrive I will sell them online. Apple please learn with other brands, going for stainless steel and aluminium is a wrong move, and that's why most of the brands go for plastic or composite materials. The Apple ones are very heavy and bulky, and like me, many people complaining about Apple AirMax, having condensation build up inside the cups and on the drivers too, making them fail over time, and thats because aluminium dissipates heat better, the difference in temperature creates condensation, and they are not water proof.
Conclusion.. people don't buy Apple products because of their really illogical, completely impractical and in this case, the utter ugly design choice of that RETCHED CASE!! But in spite of it.. in spite of it! Coz it seems as though Apple are both employing some of the most brilliant engineers but then couple them with the most, completely impractical, style before purpose, fashion statement minded, pretentious, artistic design department of all time!! Which somehow as well, gets to have the final say when it comes to the finalising of the product! "Nope, that case is staying the way it is, and no other case will be offered.. And that's that!" I honestly think Apple is just betting within their board of directors, how far they can push it before their customers, throws down the gavel and say enough is enough! We ain't gonna buy your stupidly designed products no more, coz they are more annoying than useful.

I had the maxs and the xm4’s. I fly a lot and took both on a trip. My xm4’s stay with me. My air pros went back to the store lol

That's just not true. I can't say which one is better, personally, but he's far from the only one making that claim.
