Big shoutout to Jonathan Clark aka JClarkTheJumper for helping me come up with the visual descriptions of being low and fast at takeoff that I showed at the beginning of the video. During all star weekend we taught jump technique to literally hundreds of kids and this video shows exactly how we taught it!
🎉🎉🎉 LOVE IT MAN
Thanks buddy for all your help
Thanks dude
Hey thanks for all your help
I’m jealous of that court, I just tried it on mine and slid like a whole foot.
😆😆
pouring water on the floor and sliding my shoes through it to clean them works really well for me. gets all the dirt off
@@ancellery6430 bro is speedrunning getting banned from courts
@@elancedin7204 nobody cares about some water in the corner lol. especially in the winter courts are super dry and need to extra moisture to stay grippy

I've been able to increase my vertical jump easily using an awesome program. You can find it here while it's still available: ruclips.net/video/XSwHcXpwD0o/видео.html
To anyone who wants to increase his vertical jump as well:
- Focus on exercises that target the muscles used in jumping, such as squats, lunges, calf raises, and deadlifts. Incorporate both bodyweight exercises and weighted exercises to build strength.
- Plyometric exercises help improve the power and explosiveness of your muscles. Include exercises like jump squats, box jumps, depth jumps, and bounding in your workout routine.
- Work on your jumping technique to optimize your performance. Practice jumping with proper form, including using your arms to generate momentum and landing softly to reduce impact.
See you guys when you reached your vertical jump goals!
Hey Isaiah. I don’t normally leave comments but I wanted to say thanks for your work on this channel. It’s been a really great resource for me in reaching my jumping goals. Keep up the great work
That means a lot man thank you!
Bro big respect to you for what you do, there is really not that much videos on youtube with such detailed technique breakdowns, you're helping players fr🔥
Thank you so much for this quick guide! Definitely showed me that I've been crashing and going short with my block foot instead of jabbing the ground! I'm super stoked about my quick gains because of you!!
Brother i just love you man, From the bottom of my heart . What you have done providing everyone with the free training . The training you have designed is just pure perfection man
These steps help with jumping and are also really good for building balance and body control. This is a great and simple explanation. 🙏🏾
Great tips man! Lots of people just give tips to improve your leg strength, but a lot of jumping is technique. this is a quick and easy explanation of said technique!
My goal in this comment is to say the same thing in a different way using my experience. Volleyball players call this an approach. An approach typically consists of 3 or 4 steps. The last two steps are called the step-close (penultimate-block as Isaiah puts it). If you are taking a 3-step approach, think about the speed of your steps in order as slow, faster, fastest. Anyways, thanks for the video, Isaiah - love your content as always. Hope this comment helps someone!
Omg finally a video on the whole vertical approach. I’ve been having trouble on my block foot . Thank you so much!!!!
Oh wow, finally someone who walks you through the form step by step. Great tips!
That actually really helped me out bro…as far as logic goes and how it helps with increase your vert just by small technical issues most of us never even paid attention to
These vids are legit. I’m almost 45 and looking to get my vertical back. These techniques will get me dunking with ease again. Thanks
45 years old…not a 45 inch vertical. But who knows…maybe I’ll get there!
@@bradkons4659 on the same journey too 🙂
Same thing here lol I'm 45 and haven't played any bball since I was 32. Started back in October and have gained back some abilities and iq of the game. I gained another 15 lbs of muscle back and lost 3"+ inches on my waist from 36/38 to 33/34. I'm grabbing a 9.5' room now but I'm still lacking on my overall jumping ability as well as strengthening my left knee that I injured many years ago. Cleaning out old scar tissue and waking up my body too. I wish this sort of education was around 30 years ago so we could have been better athletes! I salute u guys getting back at it again!
me too brotha, but I'm 47. Could only ever do 1 foot. 2 foot is like learning to walk again lol
Goodluck bro 🙏🏽
You’re an excellent teacher… a big reason for your success and continued following. Keep that teaching spirit and success will follow wherever you go
This is for real ! No clickbait, there is every think en less than 5 minutes. You're the GOAT !!!
Wow thank you so much I immediately noticed the difference in my vertical with using this technique everything you do to help us is much appreciated getting close to dunking on 10🎉
Thank you Isaiah, You are my first Dunk teacher, hope you keep healthy.
Excellent video! Going to try this drill out this week. Thanks for sharing!
Hey buddy, for real I know how to jump and I taught both sons of to dunk and they can do windmills all day. You are 100 percent correct! Perfect video. Congratulations!!
Have been watching you since dunk league 2, thanks for inspiring me to jump high and love from Singapore✊🏻
Hey isiah .. I've been watching your videos and I went from 18 ( without Training or ever jumping ) to 25 in about two to three months ! I wish you'd make more videos on knee pain tho !
That’s amazing man! And I’ll make more on knee pain 👍🏼
That’s awesome
you could always watch a professional on knee pain? the answer usual lies in stretching to your limit, daily
Short range movements that target the knee for high reps to pump blood

Your videos have been a game changer, taking me from a 5-6" vertical jump to 21" in just one year, thank you for the incredible results!
5inch vert? Tf?
@@s32cashier69i think an injury
I use to have 16 inch now I have 23 in a half inch almost 24 inch
@RealZunnan how? Do u keep practising the two steps he showed in the vid or u also started doing calves training?
How did you have a 5 inch vert tho? I rarely play basketball and my running vert is 28 inches barefoot
Thank you, this helped me go from barely touching the frame to grabbing the frame
Its been interesting to see a new video ab jump technique since ur original one since youve progressed so much, much love these videos helped me a ton
Really excellent instruction. All about horizontal / approach momentum energy transfer into vert. If you can master that you have built the launch pad!
Appreciate these vids bro they really do help! 🔥🔥
Your a great teacher thx it works
Thanks for the help. You are the best.
short, straight to the point, easy to understand common isiah W
Bro Isaiah thanks heaps these are great drills for my son to help his vert cheers brother , kia ora 💪💪👍👍
This was helpful. Thanks!
I am watching your Channel since I started playing Basketball. I am 173cm and can only touch the rim with every jump (one legged/ two legged). I took a video of my technique and can compare it to yours. Thanks for that m8.
Excellent tutorial.
Good to see you bro, could you also give some techniques for two foot jumpers on how to go up with the ball when dunking with one hand and two hands? CHEERS!
Thanks so much for this vid. it helps a lot
Thank you bro. You're amazing
Awesome video, and all your content is great! I always loved to run & jump & could jump pretty high, but never had formal training for the kind of jumping for basketball/dunking. I was on track in high school & did the high jump, triple jump & long jump because my gym coach was the track coach & he had the entire class try to touch the basketball rim one day & I was able to grab it (barely) & was probably only like 5'5" at the time (a whopping 5'7" now). I guess he was impressed so he had me in all the jumping events (not the pole vault, though). I was also a sprinter and hurdler. Anyway, it was a trip at the track meets, the other high jumpers usually seemed like they didn't realize I was participating at first since I was so much shorter than everyone else. Everyone was over 6'0" tall, easily.
I just realized, nobody probably cares about this story lol. But I loved to jump to see if I could touch any random thing, I mean, constantly. And all the time. Ductwork at my job, ceilings everywhere if high enough, if too easy to reach, I would see if I could hit with my head (I'd be careful of course but loved to hit the dropdown ceilings in offices or basements (usually too easy in basements) etc. I was out of control! LOL). That had to be super annoying lol - my ex-wife still talks about how high I could jump, saying my feet would be at her eye-level. Ain't no way I jumped that high, but I definitely got to a decent max height in my 20's. Anyway, I'm in my 50's now, but in my mid-20's I had to switch to exclusively jumping off two feet, which sucked because I could jump much higher off my left foot; I wish I knew this technique back then. (When I jumped off my left foot, I would get this shooting pain down the center of my kneecap, it felt like something was on the verge of tearing so I stopped and I never got it looked at because as long as I didn't push off hard I was fine & I wasn't playing basketball as much, etc.). Anyway, I'm going to make a comeback now using this technique lol! Thank you, sir. Great job, and I wish you continued success.
This really helped me, thank you
Great stuff Isaiah -- Thanks! Could you please do a similar video for one-foot technique?
Awesome dance steps!!! 😊

This is the exact video I needed thank you!
I have a lot of trouble keeping my vertical up when I have the ball. Tips for dribbling? I feel like my dribble energy is going into the ground but I want to be able to use the upward bounce from the ball.
For all these years , you’ve been great with the teaching. Thank you
Hey Isaiah! I just dunked on 9 foot 11 today. Your videos have inspired me to continue training and one day (hopefully this summer) I'll get the ten foot dunk!
Post a video

Amazing how far penultimate tutorial vids have come. There are countless out there but this is the easiest to follow to date. I suspect they'll get even better as people continue to dedicate to the craft.

Isaiah is goated man. Appreciate all the help bro no bs. My standing vert is now at 27 inches at 7 feet 230 lbs and running vert is 33 after watching all your vids/proper jumping technique. I’m a big boy tho at 23 percent body fat so that’s why my vertical is trash 😂 once I get down to 205 lbs I’ll be jumping a lot higher hopefully 🙏 thanks for the motivation bro fr.

Thx Bro❤😊

naaa volleyball bouta go crazy i was alr somewhat taught this but now i get ittt
very good video, I just have to say that this technique is from volleyball. If anyone wants something more specific as exercises, they could look for videos on volleyball in vertical jump, jumping exercises are called "pylometry"
Amazing mam.....
Hey man, nice video again! When I jump with two feet, which leg does the strength mainly comes from? Im a left-right jumper
Thanks for the help!
i went from touching my ceiling barely and now i can get my whole hand thanks =D
Im 14y 5'7'' and I hopefully want to be dunking by freshman year. Dont stop uploading it means a lot man
Im 14 too but im 5'6 and i want to dunk badly. I could only touch rim at the time but now i can't because i had back surgery and now i have to stop playing sports for a few weeks. Im going to lose all my hops
