Big shoutout to Jonathan Clark aka JClarkTheJumper for helping me come up with the visual descriptions of being low and fast at takeoff that I showed at the beginning of the video. During all star weekend we taught jump technique to literally hundreds of kids and this video shows exactly how we taught it!

I've been able to increase my vertical jump easily using an awesome program. You can find it here while it's still available: ruclips.net/video/XSwHcXpwD0o/видео.html
To anyone who wants to increase his vertical jump as well:
    - Focus on exercises that target the muscles used in jumping, such as squats, lunges, calf raises, and deadlifts. Incorporate both bodyweight exercises and weighted exercises to build strength.
    - Plyometric exercises help improve the power and explosiveness of your muscles. Include exercises like jump squats, box jumps, depth jumps, and bounding in your workout routine.
    - Work on your jumping technique to optimize your performance. Practice jumping with proper form, including using your arms to generate momentum and landing softly to reduce impact.
See you guys when you reached your vertical jump goals!

My goal in this comment is to say the same thing in a different way using my experience. Volleyball players call this an approach. An approach typically consists of 3 or 4 steps. The last two steps are called the step-close (penultimate-block as Isaiah puts it). If you are taking a 3-step approach, think about the speed of your steps in order as slow, faster, fastest. Anyways, thanks for the video, Isaiah - love your content as always. Hope this comment helps someone!

Same thing here lol I'm 45 and haven't played any bball since I was 32. Started back in October and have gained back some abilities and iq of the game. I gained another 15 lbs of muscle back and lost 3"+ inches on my waist from 36/38 to 33/34. I'm grabbing a 9.5' room now but I'm still lacking on my overall jumping ability as well as strengthening my left knee that I injured many years ago. Cleaning out old scar tissue and waking up my body too. I wish this sort of education was around 30 years ago so we could have been better athletes! I salute u guys getting back at it again!

Awesome video, and all your content is great! I always loved to run & jump & could jump pretty high, but never had formal training for the kind of jumping for basketball/dunking. I was on track in high school & did the high jump, triple jump & long jump because my gym coach was the track coach & he had the entire class try to touch the basketball rim one day & I was able to grab it (barely) & was probably only like 5'5" at the time (a whopping 5'7" now). I guess he was impressed so he had me in all the jumping events (not the pole vault, though). I was also a sprinter and hurdler. Anyway, it was a trip at the track meets, the other high jumpers usually seemed like they didn't realize I was participating at first since I was so much shorter than everyone else. Everyone was over 6'0" tall, easily.
I just realized, nobody probably cares about this story lol. But I loved to jump to see if I could touch any random thing, I mean, constantly. And all the time. Ductwork at my job, ceilings everywhere if high enough, if too easy to reach, I would see if I could hit with my head (I'd be careful of course but loved to hit the dropdown ceilings in offices or basements (usually too easy in basements) etc. I was out of control! LOL). That had to be super annoying lol - my ex-wife still talks about how high I could jump, saying my feet would be at her eye-level. Ain't no way I jumped that high, but I definitely got to a decent max height in my 20's. Anyway, I'm in my 50's now, but in my mid-20's I had to switch to exclusively jumping off two feet, which sucked because I could jump much higher off my left foot; I wish I knew this technique back then. (When I jumped off my left foot, I would get this shooting pain down the center of my kneecap, it felt like something was on the verge of tearing so I stopped and I never got it looked at because as long as I didn't push off hard I was fine & I wasn't playing basketball as much, etc.). Anyway, I'm going to make a comeback now using this technique lol! Thank you, sir. Great job, and I wish you continued success.
