    There were strong unions during the very peak of US and British industry, manufacturing and success. Quality pays for itself. Companies are destroyed by useless, inexperienced, incompetent and overpaid management. Not by well paid staff.

    The RMT isnt affiliated to Labour so I am not sure they pay any money to Labour .the Tories take millions from big business in donations and I am sure some of those businesses expect to be able to influence Gvt policy as a return . Most train drivers are in ASLEF , a union that isnt on strike . There was a democratic vote for a strike on a high turn out so i am surprised the PM isnt respecting that democratic mandate like he did the Brexit vote . OK , I am not surprised !

      Blamed Johnson for crashing the economy and putting taxes up? Yeah absolutely schooled him, it’s as if the economic dip is anything ONLY the British government could avoid despite 90% of countries in the west experiencing the same thing. Increasing taxes is one of the primary fundraisers in a recession, Labour just don’t know how the economy works that’s why they never win and are never successful in power.

      @GeoffSh4rt 2 года назад

      @@SuperLarson777 We're talking about vision. You say Blair did a great job on unemployment, the economy and health care. Maybe he did - but he had no vision or plan. He managed these things reasonably well, but he had no vision of radical reform or transformation. And the same is true of Brown. He certainly managed the financial crisis well, but what was his vision, his aim or political philosophy? He didn't have one; he merely intended to manage things well. Now Margaret Thatcher, love her or loathe her, certainly had a vision to transform society and so did Clement Attlee. But all the others were mere managers, not visionaries in any sense. And Starmer is just the latest in a long line of managers. There is such a thing as a capitalist vision of society and every Labour Prime Minister since 1964 has shared that vision. They are all indistinguishable from the Conservatives.
