    Agreed! K rain actually makes some pretty decent ones. The Rainbird ones always cause issues. i mainly use Hunter MP Rotators.

      The mp rotator are finicky though, considering it's all plastic inside the nozzle. If they are put in a head set below grade, they won't last long. To grade, they can last awhile but not nearly as long as standard nozzles

    My neighbour bought RainBird rotating sprinkles and had to return them all, because they was loosing settings. The seller asked him why he didn't buy Hunter sprinklers :) I bought Hunter sprinkles - they are working fine. I bought them, because I was looking for sprinklers with as long distances as possible. So I avoided problems by accident. I also bought non-rotating sprinkles from Hunter with 0-360 degrees Hunter nozzles an Irritrol stripe nozzles - all working fine. From RainBird I've only external wifi driver which was f*** expensive (it was new on market) but it's working fine.

      @@303sprinklersSo far, my neighbor has replaced all his sprinklers from Rainbird to Hunter, and mine are working fine and I hope it stays that way. one of them survived the water freezing inside - some water must have collected in it because it is the lowest. the ice pushed the head out several cm. I thought it was damaged but it works fine.

      @barte_z there is no tone in this comment, I promise, but what you have experienced is anecdotal and i have 15 years of doing this every single day.
      Hunter PGP rotors are awful to service andthey don't take to the plastic tool after so many years. Rainbird 5004+ rotors are superior in every way, from design to durability to adjusting. In fact, you can actually turn them off while the zone is on, and readjust the hard left set whereas you cannot do that with hunter.
      I would bet decent money neither of you replaced 5004+ rotors but more likely the 5004 or 325 lesser grade heads from home depot.
      If you had to work on them regularly, i promise you, you would agree with me

      @@303sprinklers Probably neighbour was using 5004 version (without PLUS, but 30% cheaper). My friend uses the same sprinklers (5004) for 5 years without any issues. The quality of latest products is poor. Anyway if my Hunters fail I'll use more expensive version 5004+. Thanks for info.

    Hunter has so much better quality nozzles. Though I do prefer the Rainbird fixed nozzles, the others are terrible. Even Rainbirds R-Van nozzles are not good.

    • @303sprinklers
      @303sprinklers  Год назад +1

      Agreed. The hunter VAN nozzles are much more robust.
      MP rotator, rainbird rotary, and Toro precision high efficiency nozzles are fantastic... INITIALLY. however, due to all the plastic parts they wear out prematurely compared to standard nozzles.

    • @washingandmowing15
      @washingandmowing15 Год назад

      @@303sprinklers Yep. I have seen a few MP Rotators wear out over time. Especially under heavy use and when ran off well systems. MP rotators seem to be the best at limiting water pressure on a zone, because I have a zone with 7 MP2000's and they can run while the washing machine and dishwasher are running, compared to the Rainbird fixed nozzles.

    • @303sprinklers
      @303sprinklers  Год назад

      @@washingandmowing15 MP and Toro precision are fantastic for root constrictions where there's enough gpm to push half of what should be, so, of I can squeeze 6-8 gpm, Toro precision is legit. However, too many homeowners and techs that don't understand precipitation rate, mix them with standard nozzles on the same zone.
      Best practice, I've found, is that I tell my clients the pros and cons and make sure they expect to swap out 2-3 nozzles every other year

    • @303sprinklers
      @303sprinklers  2 месяца назад

      @tilu3303 the hunter VAN nozzles are more robust but the spray pattern is not as good. Still provides proper precipitation rate and coverage as others, but doesn't clog as quickly or easily. I prefer hunter VAN all day for reliability because it will keep the marginally less quality spray pattern intact far longer than a Rainbird VAN which are an absolute CHORE to maintain

      @tilu3303 regarding high efficency, MP Rotators are finicky by definitely worth it.
      The rainbird rotary RVAN nozzles are cool, toolless, but I've been running into issues with nameplate throw due to Colorado PRS heads limited to 45 psi. They all function best at 55psi, but politicians..
