7th Christmas date is not Russian ?
Greek and other places celebrate it on the 7th ? So are they distancing themselves from orthodoxy?

@@TREENNDSS Egyptians, Georgians, Armenians, Ethiopians are not ortodox christians. Kazakhs are muslim or atheist mostly, only russians living there celebrate Christmas. Moldovans are returning to 25th as well as their romanian brothers and only the rest are ortodox christians. Christianity came to Ukraine from Greece (Byzantine empire) through Bulgaria, so it only makes sense to turn to that side of ortodox faith. Also knowing that russian ortodox patriarch supports Putin and war waged on Ukraine, it makes sense that ukrainians don't want to have anything in common with that specific church. These type of church splits were happening through entire history. Belarusians and Serbians predominantly support Russia, so you cannot blame ukrainians for not feeling strong connection to those countries. So it makes sense to celebrate Christmas with majority of the world and especially with your friends and allies.

@@JH-pv6rd it’s a strange world , I have Ukrainian friends who have fled the war and now even if they want to go russia to start life like here , they said it’s hard entering at this time , they tell me , we are stronger with Russia then be a puppet of nato so I don’t know what’s going on really , all they tell me there Christmas is on the 7th because we are with our orthodox brothers and sisters in this struggle

Finally. Russia is doing everything not like all normal Orthodox Christian that is why they are fighting against Christians. I am repeating million times we have to be happy to celebrate the Nativity First then New year because it’s obvious the beginning of the next year. To receive Light to celebrate the Great Birthday Party to bow to Savior and then with joy to start next year

They simply use a different calendar with the dates shifted. Ukraine has just decided to integrate further with the west by using their dates.
