After a long career, spanning 26 years, Iman Barlow made her retirement announcement on April 8th, 2024. Due to the difficulty in finding fights, she decided to retire at the top and move on to the next chapter in her life. Like many fighters, they want to fight all the time, but Iman found in the later stage of her career she sometimes had to wait over 12 months for a fight. Despite keeping fight ready constantly, it became less enjoyable with no fights on the horizon. Typically, age 30 is quite an early age to retire, but here at Awakening we believe she made the right decision. She had nothing more to achieve, and definitely nothing to prove.
Iman can be considered one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time!
