Yeah he played around there a lot, based out of Santa Rosa after he moved up from LA (I think in the 60s.) They spent a bried period in San Bernardino outside of LA in the late 50s (from some photos I have here.)
Thatnks! I've gotta put up some more, been too busy. I loved hearing him talk, such a gentle voice. Be was a real jabberjaw in person - full of stories.
My grandmother loved Korla Pandit. She owned and played a Wurlitzer theater organ herself, and we used to see him play occasionally at Ken's Melody Inn in Los Altos, California. I have some Korla memorabilia that he autographed to us, including a copy of this song, the Rose of Descanso. I also remember Bill Watts, an organist who performed there frequently. Gosh, I was a really little kid back then. Old time pizza and pipes!
He made these sounds before synthesizers - he's doing it all with his hands and feet. This is where the phrase, "pulling out all the stops" comes from.
I remember this guy from about 70 years ago when I was a kid growing up in San Francisco.

Thank you for uploading! A rare moment of Korla talking and such beautiful words of Holy wisdom. Bless this man and his musical talent.
