- Current setup OEM muffler mod and test pipes. Installed Becker rear exhaust mufflers, here is my review with sound clips for E92 M3.
The exhaust has a lot of drone anywhere below 3k RPMs. It sounds too deep and loses the exotic tone and DCT downshift noise.
We reverted back to stock OEM muffler mod and catless test pipes. A lot happier with this setup, but I am still experimenting with ways to reduce rasp.

Yea, Becker exhaust clips are pretty rare for e9x M3.
I see more e9x than anything else. And this is the first bad result one
I have the becker exhaust (and midpipe) on my E90 M3. It takes a little while to break in but once it does, the bark on downshifts comes back.
The low RPM drone can be annoying but thinking about a different set of mufflers to handle that 🤔
Nice 👍 the Becker mufflers didn’t sound good with my stock catless x pipe.

RPI makes a great axle back for the e90/92 M3. I purchased it for my e90 M3 and it sounded great, deep tone and barely any cruising drone whatsoever. Changed the car 100% for the better! Was only $1050 for the axle back.
I know you didn't like it but I was wondering what is the function of this style of muffler setup where it y's into two bottle resonators. Is it like a quad exhaust? I found a similar design that I wanted to try on my e550 v8 5.5 benz. I've seen other companies use this setup too like eisennman, armytrix and meisterschaft (it also seems to be a factory style of the old m5 v10).
This style muffler is designed for a deeper bassy note with no rasp. 👍
@@Sals_Garage does the two side by side mufflers do twice the work as opposed to one?
@@Dnasty1 it’s quadruple the muffling power for sure. Sounds very deep and bassy

@@Dnasty1 yes, it should sound perfect with a straight piped catless setup with no resonators since you have 4 already.

Ugh, drone is always such a deal breaker. I had a droning system on my 87 Supra when I was younger and told myself never again lol.
Lol. Yea, the drone is a lot worse in person. Definitely gives you a headache. Worst thing is it even drones while idling at stop lights 😆

Just picked up a car with this exhaust, sounds horrible. So quiet, except at like 2000rpm or lower where it sounds really loud and drony. It's so weird lol.
Exact same experience for me. I wasted my time and money with this exhaust. Too much boomy drone noise and super quiet when you rev it out.

Exhausts are the biggest PITA bcs its always a crap shoot. There is no way to know until its done.
True! I have experimented a lot with the exhaust setup on the f type, 335i, and M3 with good success. Bad luck this time. Luckily was able to sell it on offer up at a slight loss.
