They should rerelease the playmakers :) Those are fun. My grandmother and great aunt worked for AO for decades and my father had a summer job polishing lenses, way back when they were still in Southbridge, MA. Good to see the brand up and running again, but I wish they were still local so I could fill out an application in these tough times. Anyway, great videos, thank you!
Hey davey! That's some cool history! They're based out of Chicago now I believe 😁 would be really cool to see the acetate aviator come back for sure!!!!!
I bought the Saratoga with the tortoise Finish and polarized lens. Waiting for them to be delivered. Unfortunately that is before I found your store. But now I am looking at this tournament. I like the way they look. But I don’t need two pair of sunglasses that are that similar.
I think there are some pretty notable differences between the two, particularly the colorways used in the tournament, but I also like the more squared design vs the traditional wayfarer like saratoga 🤪
Yeah I really like the square design but I love that woodgrain finish. I don’t know, after I get these Saratoga I may have to buy the tournament also. And if I do I will get them from your shop
It's always tough! Haha. The woodgrain tournament is definitely my best seller, but I'm a sucker for the demi blue 💙. Happy to help if you decide to add it to your collection though 😁
That's news to me 🤔 unless they're putting in their own polar lenses, not available that way from AO, and woodgrain is actually currently on backorder from them (but I still have a few haha!)
for the tournament, one side is crooked. i've been bending it like your video and it's still crooked. are you bending it at the back? where it's thin, near the hook
Generally further up nearer to the hinge, but almost universally the tournament actually twists in the bridge. Not sure what causes it but both the Saratoga and tournament seem to have that problem in recent years.
@@davidchenowith2151 you can for sure. Low heat and be gentle. Hold in position and cool. What you’re trying to do is make sure the lenses are in the same plane :)
Also, of the acetate frames, the tournament has the widest fit. I have a small to medium face on a medium to large head, and the saratoga fits well on both, but the Tournament is the one I’d recommend for a head that is anything over medium sized.
Love the tournaments. My face is really round. Thinking of ordering these.
You'll love it! I lean to the tournament for the same reason. 😁
I did not even know about the tournament model when I bought the Saratoga
I far prefer the tournament myself. So of course I HAD to make this video to create more exposure for Saratoga hunters, hah!

@@ThatGlassesGuy03 I saw on another video that the tournament are available with polarized lenses. I do not see that option on your store page.

Would I try to bend the bridge than?

I’m worried about fit. I normally wear 55 in there aviators wonder if the 52 tournament will work
Totally different sizing ball game. Don't get caught up in the numbers. Lens size has nothing to do with fit.

@@DBSites I would completely agree with this. The times, AO1004, and the oxford are significantly more narrow
