Hello everyone! Thanks so much for watching the video and leaving a comment! Don't forget to subscribe to our channel and also to our new channel, The Lost Tower Diaries, which has a new video out now! ruclips.net/video/0GI4fV7ELOo/видео.html
Love the new content. You are both so creative
I agree .
A walk over a British antique flea market accompanying you two wonderful persons would be a lovely experience 😊.
@marilyndreamwalkermejorado1208 maybe they shouldn't do that much auctioning because there is always the pressure and the emotional aspect and therefore you're sometimes in danger of spending to much money whereas a flea market offers you the opportunities to watch the objects more closely and negotiate for a more pleasant price 😏.
Just subscribed to the “lost Tower Diaries”. Great video!! Love your place and peacocks. Thanks for sharing. 🦚😊
Yes I'd definitely love to watch you at auctions and car boots .please please. ❤❤
That Liberty Head nickel from 1884. The American coin is worth between $10-$200 in circulated condition. If it was in pristine condition it would be worth about $8,000. So look at alp those coins even tho they all appear to be in circulated condition still worth the effort. That box is amazing what a buy Alex
Loved this video!!! I am American, but have Scottish and German ancestry. Love to watch everything you two get up to, mudlarking vicariously through you ladies. Thank you
AkA Barber head Nickle. Usually about 10 to 20 USD. They are beautiful coins in my opinion
That American coin is also called a v nickel and is very popular as a collectable.
I was a missionary in Romania and I found a CCCP the date on it is 1980 its a Russian soviet coin. Mine is 15 yours is 5 which makes mine smaller than yours. Cool find love your videos.if we translated it it would say Kopeck
Check the value of each coin. There are reason it was collected. I think you will find you really got a great collection. Congratulations and Happy birthday 🎁🎈🎂🎈❤
Yes, please do more videos of auctions, "car boot sales", and general treasure hunting. It's good fun to watch you unpack your finds. Much love from Indiana.
Portugal and Sardinia were written on the slips of paper. Happy Birthday Alex. Rather than drilling holes, wire wrap or get a finding that is for coins. You just don't know how much old coins are worth to someone.
The CCCP is (U)SSSR cyrillic, 5 Kopecks
The German Kreuzer is not a token, the Kreuzer was 1/100th of a Guilder
The later USSSR coin was 20 kopecks (one ruble = 100 kopecks). I remenber paying 2 Kopecks for a glass of tea on an 1982 TransSiib train. If you wanted sacchar (sugar) it was another 5 kopecks, IIRC.
That guter pfenn. means good penny (pfennig)
Wow! Thank you!!!
Numismaticus is the box that a specialist collector would keep their treasure in (coins, money, tokens, or other valuable objects of the like). Don’t forget to check the box thoroughly for secret spots for the very valuable coins!
This was an unexpected video- a bonus for us. 😅
Happy Birthday, Alex! 🎉❤😊
I think it’s safe to say that whatever things interest you will interest your viewers. Please take us along on your adventures!
I’m all for more videos-I would watch the two of you open anything, dig for whatever, go all the places you go-just anything and everything!
I would love to see you restore that box and going to auctions. Bring it on! :)
it would be much for valuable as is. i made the mistake long ago. People tend to overdo and the ruin them
They have a Mother Load of goodies, Real Wealth
Over handing coins without curators gloves leaves hand oils on them and risks damages to the coin. WAKE UP
Don't restore box, it's more valuable as is.
@@Ken-gy1sr don't be so rude. pecker head.
Awesome box , what a wonderful birthday gift. Happy early Birthday Alex. I would love to see you repair the box, auctions, thrifting or anything else you enjoy, here or on Lost Tower Diaries. Thanks for sharing the excitement.
Repair as needed but dont restore leave it in its 200 year old state of condition Happy Birthday Alex❤🎂🍷
Great video ladies, keep them coming! The George III coin has been "holed" back in the day when it was in circulation; it was holed by a person who was in possession of it so a string could be ran through and worn around the neck or used to sew it into clothing so it wouldn't be lost. I think it tells a great story and humanizes it.
In Canada it’s not as common to see old coinage. I love it when I find a tiny silver coin with it square hole through it, and that was important and essential to that persons daily life.
Remember, never clean coins,it will decrease the value 😱 I would love to see your auction buys and jewelry finds .😃
Scottish Detectorist knows a lot about coins. Im sure you have people who will help. German is Pfennig. Austria is Kreuzer. Gron en Ommel Netherlands.
I'd love to see you both hunting for interesting curiosities at car boot sales. 💕
Loved the video! The box alone is worth the $300. Let alone the history of everything else you got. Happy birthday Alex. Thanks to you both for sharing!
Would I like to see more auction video's? Absolutely yes! Loved this one and would love to see more. I was almost as fascinated in all those colonial coins and tokens as you guys were. And I would equally love to see the restoration of the display box.
Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your collections, amazing property and interests. Its a joy to have you share this with us. ❤
Necklace, bracelets, Christmas dangles, perhaps earrings and pendants? Basically you both have so much talent you don’t require help.❤️❤️❤️
Put some of the coins in resin to make paperweights, jewellery, etc.....
Wind chimes !?
I was just about to say the same thing use the copper coins for jewellery etc!
Omg Christms Tree ornaments 😃 I would literally throw my money at them LOL
Before cutting up 250 year old coins I would have an expert look around them regardless of condition.
could be wrong but I think it said Sardinia and Portugal
@susann 3359 Good call! It's definitely Sardinia (lower case-ish "s") and Portugal. I'm not so sure I could have figured it if you hadn't told us.
Yes the coin in question says Sardinia
Yes, I agree, and I suspect the Indian coin was Imperial Court or crown or something similar. I know that early ones were EIC as in East India Company.
Just thought of my own sloppy cursive, saw "Portugal" and "Sardinia," and see that seems I am not alone.
I'd love to see a restoration of that box.
I've always enjoyed your videos about making beads or glassblowing or jewelry making or whatever you happen to be doing the time.
I love auctions, it would be awfully fun to ride along with you.
I just enjoy you both so much!
Thank you.
The box is a treasure on its own. I love your enthousiasm its so wholesome
Great find, lots of homework for you there
My grandad, born 1873 had a coin collection and it is in a box almost the same. Very interesting video, would definitely enjoy seeing you restore the box. Thanks xxx
You should make a video of your grandad's collection.
@@higstinator hi, unfortunately I can't when my dad died in 2019 my mum entrusted the collection to my sister. Because of arguments (not my fault) were estranged, it's really sad.
What a lively box . I am sure you'll put it to good use .
The first coin you pulled out of the last drawer from 1837 was a Dutch guilder from Nederlands Indië nowadays known as Indonesia. The backstamp with the crown and shield was still used on the Dutch guilders that were made right up to when the Euro was introduced.
As a history and numismatic buff, what a treasure it was to watch. Couldn't wait for each drawer. Happy early birthday!
I love your old house. Your views on your property are breathtaking. I live in a quakers house that was built in 1820.
Its not disrespectful to not know everything! And you arent ignorant. blessings🙂 Most coins are not worth much at all unless they are in terrific condition, or quite old. Every one different value.
It seems you two have a talent for making almost anything interesting! History at it's very best! Thank you!😊❤🇺🇸
You did very well on that box! The coins are a bonus! The Copper pennies are amazing. 1860s are very good. Even worn, bring 10.00 USD.
You could make pendants out of some of them.
I found a huge lot of old British coins. I always think about all of the people's hands they have gone through, possibly some of my family held them. Being in the U.S. I also think of the journey that brought them into my hands.
I would love to see auction sales.
You can make wind chimes out of the Pennies. Be careful as some have key dates that are collectable and some are extremely rare and sort after in any condition! I have plenty from metal detecting but not even close to how many you have now!
14:37 is a coin (1 Duit) from the Netherlands. 19:25 is a german coin (1 Good penny) from the principality Schaumburg-Hessen. 20:42 is a Kreuzer from Austria. 26:46 also 1 Duit netherlands. Very nice and unique Box. Congrats. Best regards, Constantin from Germany. 😊
26:40 is also Dutch. Groningen en Ommelanden. Groningen is a province of te Netherlands
Turkish coin at the 18:58 time stamp. The mark is the Tughra which is the sultan's signature.
I love auctions, thrift stores/charity shops and flea markets/car boot sales. I'm in Nova Scotia Canada and it would very interesting to see the different treasures to be found there compared to here. I would also like to take a trip to the U.K. some day and do some mudlarking. You ladies are great and I love your video's.
That's an awesome treasure..... Happy early birthday! My wife and I thoroughly enjoy your adventures... we're not able to do as you too... I'm 70 and she's 63... But thank you for letting us tag along... we look forward to your treasure hunting adventures each week. Thank you!
same :)
Would love the restoration of the box and all the other stuff you mentioned….can’t get enough of the two of you!❤
As a coin collector, this is a dream come true!!
Yes, would love more videos like this, thanks for sharing 😊😊
Yes, please take us along on your treasure hunting anywhere and everywhere.
I would definitely be interested in a restoration video. I love antique auctions and wish I could go to them more often.
That moment of great expectations before the box being open is priceless 💜💜💜
Please show us both sides. I'm loving this!!!!! Never get to see this kind of thing. Here!!!!! Love your show, never miss it!!!!!! And by the way your house and yard are beautiful!!!!!
Wonderful video! Such a lovely box and some real treasures inside. Reminded me of going to auctions with my grandma when I was a little girl. She won bids for chests of fabric and quilts mostly and often there would be antique clothes in the mix, which she always let me pick thru. I had a pretty impressive 19th/early 20th C hat and white cotton nightgown collection by the time I was ten! I hope you’ll do more auction larking videos and anything else you enjoy. Happy Birthday, Alex, and here’s wishing you a fantastic next spin around the sun!
I look forward to the resto, just be sure to remove the old glue residue before reglueing. Those coins are a great bonus and I love the room you're in! That table is so special too 😁
old wooden boxes for small collections are the best. the closest i have is an old tray used for storing metal type face which i display my miniatures in. the one cent Netherlands penny is so beautiful. it would make a gorgeous pendent. maybe fold a worn coin into a ring? lots of possibilities. happy birthday Alex. what a gift!
PS take us along on all your adventures - love to see auctions/antique stores etc.
Fun! The American coin is a 5 cent piece (has a "V" on it) called a Liberty nickel and might be worth $24 US dollars or more depending on condition and demand. made of 75% copper 25% nickel. Confusing to think they called it "a nickel", but then "a copper" is used for a cent or one penny. I would like to see more auction treasures too.
That nickel is in pretty good condition. It was a nice find with the rest of the cool finds!
We loved watching the goodies in the coin box. Yes, we would like to see a video on repairing the box as well as other auction larking trips!
Yes absolutely! Take us to auctions and on all of your adventures!!! Bless you!
Yes!!! Please film the restoration. Never would see that box here.
Cool! Yes, I’d watch you repair the box. And hunt for treasures in auctions or car-boot sales.
All those ideas sound great. I'd love watching all that you mentioned. Thanks for including us. 😊
Terrific idea, I’d love to see y’all “shopping “. Happy days, 💖🇺🇸😎
The idea of seeing actions and car boot sales would be very fun!
The box itself is beautiful!!
Yall are going to have so much fun looking up all the coins . What a great find. You have made your money back in foreign collection coins and the antique box.
I can't wait to see you embark on new journeys and projects. Can't have enough of you two.
How fun to see the variety of coins. So much history. The box is absolutely grand. Yes, I would love to see the restoration!
I really appreciate how you showed how to bid at an auction!
Julia x
I would love to see anything you gals feel like filming. I thoroughly enjoy it all.
YES! Film the restoration of the box! Would enjoy the auctions as well!
Would love to see you restore the box & the auctions & antique fairs!! ❤
What fun 😊 to have a money box. Happy birthday, 🎉Alex 🎂 .
The box will be beautiful when restored and perfect for your finds my husband used to make keyrings from old pennies which we sold for £1 each the Victorian ones were very popular !
How fun it was watching you open the box! Can’t wait to see it restored with your finds in it. Thanks for sharing.
Always love auctions and sales!!!
Yes please - love to see you both finding surprising historic treasures at auctions, car boot sales, antique shops…. You have such knowledge on very many items, from your mudlarking finds, so… 👍🏻💪🏻❤❤😃😁
I'm an ignorant American , so could you please tell me what a "car boot sale" is?
I too would love to watch you repair the box and go to more auctions, etc.! Such cool ideas!
What fun to open a real treasure box! Enjoyed seeing all the coins and tokens!
Happy Birthday Alex🎉 thank you for sharing your birthday gift 🎁
You had quite a few cool coins in that amazing box! I'd enjoy watching auctions, car boot sales, etc.
I was here for the box, so yes, please film the restoration and all your trips to the auctions and thrift stores and whatever else!
Well this video was a lot of fun & that box is unique & lovely. Great gift for Alex!
Hi, what an interesting box, Happy Birthday Alex 🎂 would love for you to do record visits to auctions and car boots please, you are both very talented
I think a coin belt would be great! Using chain between would be cool! Earrings would be nice also!
Yes please...would love to see you restoring and making things from your treasure hunts/mudlarking. By watching you two adventurers, I get to live an unfulfilled childhood dream of hunting for things/treasures that are rich in history and maybe monetarily rich. Love, love, love your videos and of course you too.
yes please auctions, restoring ect , i so enjoy what you guys do.
I would love to see the restoration. Also, very excited to see more auctionlarking!
All of my ideas have already been mentioned. Nice auction find.
Added: I love auctions. I love to see what you find at them.
I love seeing whatever it is you want to share with us. Thank you very much for sharing.
Unique birthday gift. Enjoy your new button and treasures box. 💖😊💖
Amazing coin collection in one shot! How exciting!
Coins are all fantastic! What a great birthday present 🎉. I love, love, love the wooden box !!! I think the box has had many different lives. So many stories/secrets we will never know! I love this different adventure but keeps with history and new knowledge of different coins. I will be rewatching this video several times to closely review your findings. DO THIS AGAIN!!!! 👍🥳
Oh, I loved this!!! My dad was a coin collector when I was a kid. I have them now and I always loved looking at all the amazing artwork on them, especially those from other countries. It would be great to watch y'all restore the lovely box. The other activities you mentioned sound like lots of fun, too!
The box is very nice , It's very interesting to see different old coins. Thank you so much for sharing us with you . I enjoy the video so much . Be safe and happy ❤❤❤❤
Numismatist- coin collector, coin expert. Hope Alex is not so disappointed!
The box is fantastic, as well as the collection. The British Museum stores many of its coins in such boxes. I saw a video on Anglo-Saxon coins where they were thus stored. Although many of the Victorian coins are worn, many are certainly collectible and may have scarce mint marks. Of course I would like to see some videos of auctions and estate sale finds. Greetings from Texas!
That was a fun video. I enjoyed looking at the coins and would love to see you restore that lovely box. Yes, please, do more auction pieces. I love seeing old things rediscovered and repurposed.
Yes, yes, please! I would love to see you restore the box. Also the auctions, faires etc would be exciting to see. I love your new channel, too.
I loved this video and would really like to see more similar ones in the future! I can't get to any sales so anything like that is fabulous. ♥
Love the whole auction, car boot thrifting and mudlarking videos. Love to just finding the the wierd old and wonderful.
Interesting reveal. Lots of coins. The box itself is awesome. Yes, I would love to see more auctions and such. I love antiques.
Thxs for putting the video together. I really enjoyed it.
Yes, I would love to see you do ALL the things you mentioned! Especially jewelry-related! Thank you, ladies! 💗
i loved this video and would love to see you restore the box and similar videos again xx
Thank you for this. I don't aways enjoy unboxings as I find some of them agonisingly slow. But, this was great. Love the box. As you say all else is a bonus. Yes please take us along to flea markets and carboot sales. The thrill of the hunt is always great fun.
Auction larking sounds awesome 👏 I loved the mystery box and all the history with all the untold stories of how these coins all came to be
In that little coin box.
Great stuff!
Lovely box. I always wanted to have a box of curiosities. It would be lovely if you could film the prosses of restoration. Great idea! ♥
Loved this video!! I have a small coin collection, spurred by the foreign coins my grandfather gave me. He brought them back from his years serving in WWII with the Royal Canadian Army. I added more foreign coins via pen-pals from around the world. Anywho, fantastic box as well. Beautiful years of wear and patina.
Thank you ladies..yes id love auction surprises and
I particularly love restoration videos please ❤
Yes,it’s fun to watch auctions, I would love to see videos of you fixing the box.
Necklaces with the Pennies! They don’t have to be complicated to be really cool.
Happy Birthday thanks for sharing well done brilliant collection look through them carefully everyone down the page is saying the same take care to you both lots of love xxxDebbie xxx
