Is it just me or do they give most skaters slightly lower scores than they deserve and Huston slightly higher scores than he deserves? I mean that double 360 flip down the stairs I felt should have been around a 9.5. The commentators themselves said he was likely the only person on earth who could do it.

The switch double trey flip was definitely underscored. They don't over score Huston, they underscore everyone else

this happens on all his contest he makes is look so easy the the judge's forget it switch :/
+Shander Muniz for real. They always say they get judged higher for doing tricks no one else does but... doesn't seem true based on this. I mean, imagine anyone else doing a whole line switch.
I gotta be honest; switch can be kind of boring. I know it’s hard, but I’d rather watch Evan or Joslin do something huge and exciting regular than watch P Rod do a bunch switch tricks on a little ledge. The judges are probably aware of that. They have to score switch higher but they want to see excitement, style, innovation. Nyja is can super tech tricks that no one else can do first try and he can do them down big obstacles. So he usually wins. I’d love to have seen Cole win but he got hung up on that ledge trick that wouldn’t have scored suuuper high. He could have been more strategic. That said, the fs switch 360 flip should have got a 9. It was a decent sized obstacle and it was perfect with amazing style. It’s a great looking trick that no one else does. Shane also isn’t strategic enough. He tried a little too hard right off the bat. Remember when Malto used to be in them. He wouldn’t even flip his board and he won one. Shane could easily do that and then throw in 2 bangers at the end. Lastly, if they gave 1st to Evan just for flare, I wouldn’t complain. I hope he wins one one day.

Bro people hate on Nyjah why? He lands everything that’s why he always wins, let the man be, being a hater is not a good look, I’m sure if it was you, you wouldn’t want people discrediting your success by saying the judges score him better than others, he gets scored well because he does the hardest tricks and makes them about 90 percent of the time

Damn, Nyjah's really good under pressure. Can't argue with the win, he truly deserved it.
However, I really rooted for Paul this time, his crooked nollie flip out was unbelievable. But why did he try it again on another rail :( I think he should've went for switch 360 flip over the stairs which he does on lock. It would've been enough for the win.
So it literally took 5,000 hours worth of work split between 8 workers to build this course? That's a little over 208 days. Is that right?

Varial heelflip back 50 50 is an 8.5? Crazy cause I don't think that's ever been done before in sls, it was first attempt and landed literally perfectly, on a round rail, not a hubba or ledge, and it only gets a 8.5? Usually judges reward nbds in sls. Highway robbery. Manny is the ideal skate culture ambassador

Hahaha, thanks, that makes sense. With the video saying Barcelona and everyone else saying Barcelona I had no idea. Funny thing is that I actually stayed for a week pretty close to Badalona when I went to Barcelona.

That’s the name of the area they’re in, Barcelona is the name of the whole city, but it’s broke down into different sections just like any other city

They sure do a good job of padding the returning entourage's scores. I mean I'm all about showing respect where respect is due but if they never allow room for new blood, then they are doing the sport a great injustice. They could travel all over the world teaching and put it on TV where they show different towns every week. It could be its own Worldwide Phenomenon. "Think Bigger" one-on-one time with fans, bringing new life into skateboarding in an old school-new school format. You can be teaching America's youth that the greatest achievement in skateboarding isn't just making money doing what you love, it's giving back. Passing the torch to the next generation, ensuring the legacy of skateboarding continues in the right spirit. But that's just one old-schooler's humble opinion, what the hell do I know?
How evan smith gets a 4.5 for his first run is beyond me. I might just not know skating but can someone explain how that wasn't far and away the worst run out of the first heat.
