I picked up my new Sledge on Tuesday and some goodies for it. It is the belted tire version. Before I even took it outside I changed the steering servo, added a motor fan and temp sensor as well at the bluetooth module, wheelie bars and RPM front bumper. I would like to get the M2C motor mount but for now I will just use the Hot Racing motor mounting washers. Took it out for a rip Wednesday night and it handles great. Sure is a little ripper, I am going to wait for the Hot racing stuff to arrive before adding a 17T machined pinions and machined spur gear so I can get it done together. For now I will just run the stock 13T. I run the same 5200 mah CNHL batteries that you do. With all your M2C stuff yours will be a dream machine.
That’s awesome, congrats on the new Sledge! Sounds like you’ve already done some killer upgrades - I love that you’re going all out with the steering servo, motor fan, temp sensor, and Bluetooth module before even hitting the track. Those belted tires should handle like a dream too. 🤩 The Hot Racing motor mounting washers should hold you down for now, but once you go M2C with the motor mount, it's a whole different game! It really locks everything in place, especially for those higher gears like your 17T pinion upgrade. I’ve got the same batteries and they’ve been solid for bashing, so you’re set there. Keep me posted once you get that Hot Racing stuff installed - sounds like your Sledge is going to be a real beast! 💪
great upgrades brother... but in my experience you really need the gear box themselves as the plastic is weak and allows flex and thats what is actually stripping the pot metal gears with these you will get some extra time but i believe its gonna do it still just my experience ive already been down this sledge highway
Thanks for the insight, brother! 😂 I appreciate the heads-up! It seems like that plastic flex is the sneaky culprit behind those pot metal gears having a meltdown. It’s like they’re auditioning for a part in a horror movie! 🎬🧟♂️ If you’ve already taken that Sledge highway, I definitely trust your experience! I might have to gear up and swap out the gearbox down the road to avoid a full-on gear apocalypse! Thanks for watching and sharing your wisdom-let’s hope I can keep this ride on the road longer than a few scary scenes!
