Yeah he’s not mentally unwell he just waved a gun around by a school and ran from the cops for like hours. Any normal and sane person might do that
They did say it was on the balcony of his apartment no? Its not like he deliberitaly went to a school. He did not shoot. He is obeying trafic laws as well. At this point he is mentally stable and well aware what he is doing.
By that logic no one who murders another man is mentally stable because its not a normal behavior yet people will get sentenced with murder charges and not placed in a mental institution. They made deliberate choices.

I listen to the full videos at work. They are interviews with convicted felons comiting terrible crimes, the people are described and explained by specialists.
You think you know, but you don't know shit. I just got finished watching a guy who totally looked 100% guilty for killing his girlfriend but at the end he was a victim that got shot through his eye and had brain damage, he was conscious and speaking suspiciously wanting to go to sleep, he had injuries that looked like a domestic fight.

I don’t think the whole PD would be on the chase, there’s probably 100+ just patrolling in each district. I’m no expert, but I’d think robbing in LA is a bad idea, would be much easier in rural areas.

Its actually pathetic how many officers are on scene for literally just one guy on a motorcycle. Even if they believed him to be armed and dangerous, this is overkill. Its a waste of resources, its inefficient, and the moment hes detained at least 80% of them should be leaving the scene. I mean heaven forbid another crime happens right?

Holy shit I'm so done with these braindead chatters who know nothing about policing.
There are literally 10,000 police officers in LA. This isn't even a handful of them compared to the amount of resources they have. This guy was reported to be armed and dangerous with TWO GUNS, he had already fired those guns, and he caused a nearby highschool to cancel a sports game out of genuine fear that he could hurt someone. That is a significant threat, especially when children are present.
This is not even close to overkill. There is no such thing as overkill when it comes to someone who is dangerous and has already caused a school to lockdown.
What if he pulled out that gun and shot someone while sitting at the red light? What if he aimed at the police and shot one of them while at a light? This is why you have multiple officers. The more officers you have, the less of a chance of ANYONE getting hurt.
Imagine having 2 cops responding to this guy. Only two of them in one car. One of those cops is shot and the suspect drives off. That cop's partner can't leave him there on the ground, he has to disengage from the chase and care for him. Now you have no one chasing the manic with a gun indiscriminately shooting at vehicles and people.
There are departments where they can't afford to have multiple officers on a scene, and that's horrifying. There's a video of two cops talking with someone reported to be waving a gun. Both of those cops got shot, one of them in the head. It took a civilian armed with his own gun to cover the officers and return fire at the suspect. They couldn't get backup until way later on because they were in the middle of nowhere.
This is not overkill. This is ensuring that not a single person gets hurt unnecessarily
He just wanted one last ride before going to prison for 10 years.

This dude was on run for a straight hour, involving about 80 officers with salaries around average ~20 USD, tax payers 1.600$ well spent (without including expenses as fuel per vehicle/helicopter, other resources involved, etc.etc.etc.)
