    I watch and weep and despair. The only solution is if all the rich countries who can afford it to lease the remaining forests from Indonesian government and found rangers and rescue centres. The public on its own like myself do not have enough founds to do much good. Millions are needed. The fight in UN should start like right now before all is gone...

And I believe now more than ever with social media and similar platforms will help tremendously. These animals won't survive without god sent people as yourselves. Just a huge thank you. Ian, this is so difficult to watch but it must be exposed. Thank you for your dedication to these majestic creatures. I too find it very hard to grasp the level of viscousness associated with these wounds. It is my belief that whoever did this is a sociopath i don’t trust amongst the human population. Palm oil is in so many products can one person actually make.a difference? How can we outlaw palm oil completely? These are questions we need to seriously take to heart and try our hardest to solve.

It would set on the fence on what every part of her huge garden. She built a box with hole in it she could fit. Nailed it to wooden fence post. Well she learn to get her own hunting food. She had 4 babies, they to at times set on the fence with their mom. One day we came home from church. Some one killed them all. It was very sad. Wicked hateful people.

    The plantation workers are paid extra to ensure that the crop is safe from ANY loss. It is kept quiet because they don’t want any unwanted inquiries from outside sources.
    This means the plantation workers are told to do whatever it takes to keep vermin and other animals off their property. Even killing it.
    Orangutangs don’t eat oil palm as a food. Maybe the berries if they are desperately hungry, but not much. Not enough to warrant this savagery.
    This was more for kicks.

      Their home is taken, and they are tortured and killed, their babies monetized.
      It made me very sad and I am hardly capable of letting that sadness go away in the next days.
      It can't be undone - these creatures have an honour and a right to live their life - these peaceful humanlike companions have rights on this planet. They currently cannot sue their vicious torturers. But the were given rights, humankind is supposed to respect.

    The threat to the orangutan is simple: it is fear and ignorance. The answer to the problem is education and the lack of the life understanding of the orangutan. Both of these concepts can be dissemination from the very young school children.

      Teaching young children is a great idea, but I'm afraid by the time those young ones grow up and are old enough and responsible enough to save the orangutans, they will already be extinct, wiped from the earth, gone forever. But, it's never too late to start educating not just young school children, but the population as a whole of the importance of every animal on this planet, that every animal has an important role in the survival of all living things including mankind.

    At 36:01 when the orangutan on the operating table heart started to fibrillate slowly I didn’t see any of the veterinarians or technicians getting emergency supplies ready in case the heart stopped. When his heart did stop beating and he flatlined I did not see the veterinarians giving him a CPR, a shot of adrenaline, eforectin (sry for spelling) or anything else that would show they were trying to resuscitate the orangutan. When I was younger I worked as a veterinarian technician for about 10 years and it was standard procedure to have everything ready in case of an emergency before the operation even started. If the animals heart stopped then immediately we would put a shot into the IV tubing, while the veterinarian or another tech would start CPR immediately. I would say when an animal flatlined on the operating table we did everything and anything to get the animal back, we would not stop trying for at least 15 minutes. This worked 99% of the time. I just wonder why none of the veterinarians there did that? Maybe it was edited out of the program but I think they should’ve said something.

      I couldn't care less about these lazy useless apes . I care that the poor impoverished children in Indonesia have some upward mobility and a future to look forward to. These children are begging in the streets with no shoes or medical care, yet I'm supposed to spend money to make sure these apes have all the food and care they need? No way !! So it seems like the people who are bitchin and complaining about these apes are all Brits, Australian or American. All these white folks seem to care more about these fifthy animals that the poor children of Indonesia. So only American and British kids are allowed to have wealth and prosper? It seems to me that these people becoming empowered economically is very threatening to these neo Colonist Americans and Europeans. If you don't fall in line with this stupid ape agenda they will give you bad press, etc. I will always support the poor Indonesian children. Until apes can figure out how to create and run complex governments and economies, cure diseases and develop vaccines, send a rocket into outer space we can talk about their importance and rights over ours on this planet. These apes will have to move along too bad so sad.

    What a great documentary very enlightening! There has to be something done to stop these people from doing what they're doing. I've come to the conclusion that most humans are totally bad these days! I can't even believe that they can burn that forests up like that and beat those animals like that... somehow I wish there were stricter laws that will punish them to the utmost !!!! I don't care how much palm oil cost how much money they can make from selling it ..They just need to understand that these animals have feelings more so than humans these days and they themselves would not want to be treated that way under no circumstances !!! And with the government turning a blind eye that tell you how ignorant they are as well Lord have mercy!!! They themselves deserve to be treated the same way based on how they've done these animals... 😖😣 I don't know if it's a lack of understanding about how the forest is man's best friend along with the animals as well...... Because once it's gone we lose all types of other animals and the good that the forest give to us !!! I think it's a bunch of darn ignorance, money hungrynessss,going on..... Thank God for the drones and the people in this video who cares!! And those who are burning down the forest like that how would they like it if somebody burn their homes and beat them the same way because of the love of money and oil or whatever ???? these are the questions that they need to ask themselves?? Although things are being done to help these animals it still make me angry sad and breaks my heart!! As humans we need to get it together seriously... .🥺

    • @ritamccomas9271
      @ritamccomas9271 2 года назад

      Electric fences? You have to realize, these are in areas where there is no possible way to have electric fences, they're out in the middle of nowhere most of the time. Tbh, I don't believe those third world country backwoods savages give two shits about the orangutans and the destruction of their habitat and food source. I can tell that by their inhumane treatment of these beautiful sentient beings, beating a wild animal literally to death, shooting and stabbing, then grabbing any baby orangutans and selling on the black market as pets. No, I'm sorry, even if electricity could be used, these "people" still would not go to that extreme and expense to keep orangutans out, they'd rather kill them just for the hell of it.

      @@scotttracy6840 sadly you’re right. The planet is trying to diminish the overpopulation of humans. I’ve never been much of an environmentalist…I love V8 muscle cars and laughed at people that drive Priuses but seeing videos like this and seeing the damage that we as humans are causing to the planet and ecosystems makes me feel disgusted in myself. I’ve always loved all the great apes and to see how horrible people can be to these amazing creatures makes me ashamed in my fellow humans. I mean can we even call them humans when they can treat other living things like this???

      They still can enjoy their life. These orangutans that cannot go back into the wild are not literally kept in cages. There sanctuaries where they live and are not caged, just like those in rehabilitation centers are not caged. To move, to isolate in case of illness, injured, etc., are temporarily caged, but not permanently.

    His way of doing this is wrong. They don't teach them stuff. They need jungle school like they do in Borneo. This disgust me how he does this. Just throw them in a cage and wait until they get older then just throw them into the wild with out teaching them what they need to know to survive. You. Should be shut down!

      They're actually one of the most successful orangutan release programs in terms of post-release survival. What you're not seeing in this documentary is the fact that SOCP does take rehabilitant orangutans out for forest training. Please do a bit more research before getting outraged; this is a damn good project that needs all the support it can get.

    • @Cara-39
      @Cara-39 3 года назад +1

      SOCP does have a forest school rehab and learning program. This is just showing the initial quarantine, health check and socialization aspects. Forest school has become standard for great ape rehabilitation as it gives them the best chance of surviving in the wild

    I can't comprehend how these people say it's illegal to keep these as pets and they live in a cage but then so called rescue the monkey only to put them in a different cage and if the monkey can't be rehabilitated then it can't be released and lives it's life in a cage. No matter how u look at it the poor things end up shot up, killed or in a cage no matter how or where they live. I started watching videos cuz I want one now after learning all that I've learned from these videos I feel horrible for them but it also makes me want one more then I did originally

      Your attitude is why the wealthy globalist will depopulate most of your lower thinking kind. You don’t see the balance as important because you are simply not smart or intuitive to understand it. It’s the destruction of an entire ecosystem that is essential for even human survival. To not care is to not care about yourself or your children or theirs, let alone animals.

      but did you see how vicious and inhumane their attacks on the orangutans were?? being that cruel is never justifiable. and humans are just animals too. what you don’t understand is that we humans get invaluable resources to make things like medicines from rainforests, and their destruction (which causes the collapse of entire complex ecosystems) also massively adds to global warming. destroying these habits hurts humans too, the big companies in charge just lack this foresight and only care about making a big buck in the present at whatever cost

      We may as well just kill everything that isn't human right now then, because some people aren't going to stop wanting space to make profits. That includes all pets too, because they're taking up resources and pets aren't more important than people. Everyone come on, grab a gun, machete, or club and beat your pets to death! Let's make the world a better place for people!
