Your earth floor is brilliant. I’m building a CEB home and that floor makes perfect sense. I changed my design from concrete floors to this.

Your house has been an inspiration for a home I intend to build myself in the future. I have bunches of questions regarding needed design considerations. The first is, when do you need to consider a foundation other than a rubble trench? How far can you push a CEB building in size and height before you can't use that foundation?

you have to read the state, county, or city codes, depending on where you are. Some will not let you do a rubble trench.

Hi Ryan, great video and I'm still trying to decide between Rammed Earth or CEB. I noticed some cracks since the first video on this house in the CEBs, the floor, and in some of the mortar joints. Is this an issue, is this expected, is this from settling, is this from the mud stucco coming off? What is the reasons and then what is the remediation for this? Do you live here now full time now?
    Thanks and great work!

It's too bad the cheapest of the machines you guys offer over $50,000. $10,000 would be the right for the small machine and would sell many more.

I told him the exact same thing on a phone call. With the economy imploding, 8% mortgage rates, and with the current ridiculous developer model, which mimics the corporate model of too many VPs, where you have a GC that doesn't do the work and all the sub's have GCs that don't do the work either, you're going to see more DIY building than ever. Its already started. This is also the reason I'm also considering Rammed Earth. Because without a reasonably priced machine for smaller, say 50 blocks an hour, you're going to see more and more go to R.E. Also you only have to move it "once". I love the Adobe look but the only way I could do this is by buying a machine from overseas and that is not very smart (service, parts, etc..).

I’m looking at buying one to rent out.
