@@TheDrugking true but it's also 300 dollars less. It's not a horrible phone by any means. Spec wise it's not even that much less than the ultra. The lack of expandable storage isnt great but who is going to tell the difference between 8 and 12 gigabytes of ram. Unless the 60hz refresh rate is an absolute deal breaker it's not that bad

Glass back was a TERRIBLE idea started by Apple. It's more likely to break than the front glass and just makes the device slippery and heavier.

no its not a cheap ass plastic that scratches in a day yes glass break but if you drop it wo it might never break but plastic scratches so easy in a day phone would be ugly mess

Actually, sony started this glass back trend 😅 but i never heard someone complaining that their sony smartphone's back shattered 😅
@@paulolv7798 Actually he's right, Apple started it with iPhone 4 back in 2010. Sony as a mobile brand didn't exist until 2012 and even after that they were only releasing plastic back phones for another year until 2013 and their release of Xperia Z. 3 years after Apple. Before that, as Sony Ericsson, they also never made a phone with glass back.
And yes I've seen many Xperias or other glass phones with shattered back and front, in fact my own G6 is now in such condition. Glass in the back is a dumb idea. I wish we could go back to all metal finish like in Huawei/Honor and HTC models from the past. It felt premium enough and it provided a proper protection.
To be honest this Note 20 doesn't feel cheap, sure it's not glass, but it certainly feels ok and I've heard it doesn't scratch as easily as normal plastic since it's actually this glasstic shit.
It is unfortunate that this phone is so expensive. I think people would be going nuts over this phone if it was $850ish. The $1000 price point is just so competitive these days, but this is definitely a great device!

Check with your providers for discounts. Our family of 3 just got 3 of these for free. Yes, free. We are switching over from Tmobile because we have personally noticed a drop in service. From not being able to access internet to not being able to make calls. Anyways, today we walked into a local ATT store. We only had to pay the tax, that's it. Once we get our new phones we will send off our current phones. Which tbh we don't mind. We still have older phones laying around. So we don't look at it as loosing our phones
We look at it as trading our 2 S8+ & 1 S9+ in and getting brand new phones. Plus we will be receiving a American Express Visa card with $700 on it. Yes. Not a typo $700. For each phone you get $250. Since we have 3 new lines we will max out the offer at $700.

I got mine for $799 on sale on Amazon (US version) and I feel like that’s the price it should have always been. $800 feels far more reasonable than the original $1,000 asking price.

I'm impressed as always. I just unboxed my mystic bronze and it is amazing. Sad it didn't come with a SD card slot but still a powerhouse of a phone. Wouldn't change it for the world
The problem isn't really that it's got a plastic back. The problem is it's priced like it's got a glass one, 120HZ Screen Refresh Rate, and QuadHD Display, Periscope Zoom Camera with at least 3X Optical Zoom, and a bigger battery. The fact that Samsung even omitted some accessories in the box isn't helping either. It's a good phone for sure, but it just isn't priced right.
In the UK it doesn't even come with the Snapdragon chip set.
This phone is hands down the biggest middle finger to the consumer from Samsung that I've ever seen. I really like Samsung's products but seriously hope this year's Note line-up performs poorly so Samsung can learn a lesson on how to properly price stuff
Richard X8 Ever since the Note10, Samsung has hit its downfall to their consumers. And, that’s when DJ Koh stopped presenting and got demoted. Shame really, the S10 series was the last best Samsung.
My problem too. I might actually get it if it was retailed at 800, but 1000 is way too much. Even 1300 is too much for the Ultra and I might either go S20 or iPhone 11 Pro

Imagine actually believing that there is any difference between 60 and 120 hz. There is literally no difference.
Tip: If you want to experience the feeling of 120Hz on a 60Hz phone, just scroll at half the speed.
Noone will even notice the difference

Thank you for this review because hardly anyone else does it. All I could find was the Ultra reviews. I ordered this phone myself. Battery life is more important to me than 120Hz refresh. So if I'm going to run it at 60 Hz anyway, might as well get this unit. I hate the look of the camera bump of the Ultra.

@Zavier Sledge I upgraded from note 10 to s20fe, I recommend to buy s20fe like it has better materials and a screen with 120hz

My thoughts on the S-Pen being on the left are that I dont really care, I'm a righty but I can accommodate. I think that Samsung should add an option about that if you prefer it on the left or right when you order your phone

I've just recently got my self a samsung galaxy note 20 "I have no complaints in terms of the product"it does every thing that I would expect it to do "in short" I am a very happy customer 😊
It's July 2023 and I'm about to purchase one of these this week. It's took a week of searching and comparing to decide. The one thing missing from many reviews that is really important is the sound quality from the speakers. One early review stated that the speakers "didn't sound great" and another tell me the Galaxy S20 FE does. I really can't imagine that this is the reality when I look at the design and read the ratings. I had the same thing with reviews on the Google Pixel 5 not sounding great with the under screen speaker but I found it to be quite full range and loud with a bit too much balance to the right unless you held the phone with the left side slightly tilted towards you, then it sounded amazing for what it tried to do. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ was another phone I've recently tried and returned because of the curved edges of the screen. I cannot stand them with the reflections constantly distracting and blocking content and the twisted graphics and color difference is practically unacceptable to me. Nobody mentions this in the reviews and only half of the reviews even mentions which has which making my search almost insane as I'd find some that I'd love on paper, just to figure out after double checking photos and reviews that practically everything Galaxy with those awesome speakers and cameras have a curved screen. Same thing with the flat screen Galaxy phones, it's a trade off, bigger screen or better resolution or better refresh rate or better cameras or have it all being stuck with that horrible curved screen. Thanks for the sound review, if not brief, better than most to give me the confidence to be satisfied with my selection before I buy. By the way, I couldn't help but notice the King James Bible application on your home screen is the same one I subscribe to as well. Pretty cool!

The problem is with the people in RUclips how r posting videos about Ultra only, and making the normal not20 looks not good.
But in the reality it's a great phone and it is better than the previous note series.

i got the note 20 ultra and my girlfriend got the note 20 mystic green yes it is a nice color and feels good doesnt feel like plastic how people say and it still looks like a solid phone.
I heard that you get earphones free with Note 20 if you ask samsung customer support and they will ship it separately. So basically they are not including it in note 20 box but provide it if customer asks for it.
I'm going to try this when it comes in... will report back later

Note 20 may be overpriced at it's regular price, but the $500 black friday deal was awesome! Love this phone so much!

This seems more like a successor to the Note 10 Lite rather than the flagship, but with the crazy price! I would recommend waiting for the s20 Fan edition coming next month..

Finally, a note 20 unboxing, the most reviews that I saw was the 20 ultra xd btw mine is arriving next Tuesday

It is indeed a great phone! But still a tougher recommendation at the $1000 price. We'll see if my viewpoint changes after trying out the Note 20 Ultra.

For such a beautiful piece, the base storage on both models should've been 256 GB, just like on the Note 10 and Note 10 Plus. Especially when the phones have 8K video capabilities.

I got mine two days ago. I switched from my old Huawei P20 pro and went back to Samsung (my last one was an S7). Here in SEAsia, it shipped with free wired earphones in the box plus a separate Samsung Buds+ as a gift. This is my first Note so I only have love for it. It checks all the boxes for me.

Great review 👏. I have the note10+ and still loving it. It's running the 1ui 3.1 and it's a beast. My daughter has the note20 ultra and my wife has the s21 ultra and I'd still take my note10+ over them both. Has the memory card slot in which I have 1tb of storage in it. To me I rather have the buttons on the left side more then having the s pen on the left side, and I'm a lefty. I don't worry about fingerprints on the phone it's always incased and has a mowi glass screen protector. Looks as good as when I un boxed it. Note20 is a nice phone. I would only trade up for the note22 ultra comes out next year, but it better have a memory card slot.

Flat-screen on the Note 20 5G was a seller for me. Battery life is good, It is a very, very snappy phone with a large responsive screen. Plastic back? so what, I will keep it in the cover case anyways... 120Hz refresh rate would be nice to have but I can live without it just fine.
I also have same opinion which you have for note 20... Its an amazing phone with all the features i needed.... Fabulous screen /fast processor /superb quality s pen...and many more i dont have any complain with my note 20....i love my phone.... And. One. More thing..... It's been 2 months and more than 20 people asked me... Which phone is this with a very greedy geature.... That makes me so happy.... 😊😊

The plastic build doesn't matter to me. You can always opt for a case and I like that they made it matte unlike the glossy back of the note 10 lite. Still sis it was a tiny bit cheaper tho
Personally, I don't mind all the specs of the regular Note 20 most especially the plastic back. The issue is the price. Having an ultra version of the same phone doesn't justify the regular $1000 pricing.
I would say the price may drop fairly quickly.
This phone is awesome. I didn't realize how much I missed the flat screen. This color looks so amazing, and feels so refreshing. I'm glad I traded my note 10, hated that phone.
The flat screen is what I was loving about the phone I just not a fan of the curve to much screen is exposed to the ground if you were to accidentally drop it

Its not ear buds... its a headset that unfortunately hooks in where you charge. Worst part about this phone!
Not really bothered about 120 Hertz but no expandable storage is disappointing...
They should've put an expandable storage up to 1tb that would be awesome plus the price should drop as well

This phone is perfect for me. I like everything about it. I like the plastic back, the flat screen and the 43000h battery. The camera sounds great for what I do or don't need, in a phone camera. So yes there are those of us that love phones like this.
Hi Shane! Can you do a comparison between this and the Note 10 Lite? I understand the difference in processors but I can't justify in my mind the $400 difference given the similar body construction.

I just ordered this phone ( exynos version) and I think it is just gonna be fine. Having all the power of Note devices and plastic back is not really bad. In someway it is even better.
I'm thinking about getting this phone. I'm using the small note 10 and the battery is kinda getting bad and I love the design of the note 20. Love the camera bump, plastic back which means no fingerprints plus more durable, bigger display, bigger battery, supports 5G, flat display, etc.

$200 off right now on Verizon. Just got mine today. Pretty sweet so far. I am coming from an s9+ and this is basically the same size. A little bit longer and heavier. I think it is worth it if you get the discount.
Just snagged one of these on Cyber Monday for $699 !!! That is the best price for this device
I am all for a plastic back; actually prefer it a lot as mine will always be in a case, and the plastic back allows the device to be slimmer and lighter (or have more room for insides).
BUT, not on a $1000 device where there are also cuts made to the display refresh rate, larger front camera punch out, smaller storage size compared to other similarly priced phones, etc.
Thankfully, Just 2-3 months in there have been lots of deals on this device. You pretty much never need to spend the full $1k on it. Picked mine up last weekend for $500 on Google Fi, and other carriers are having regular sales for $650-750 which is a more appropriate price for what you are getting.
