About the regular note 20 having a "better display", the reason why the note 20 ultra display looks dimmer is due to the higher refresh rate. if you lock it at 60hz, it should be brighter. higher refresh rates require more power to keep up with the extra processing. The higher the refresh rate, the dimmer the screen will be unless the screen is ultra powerful. It's the same for Gaming monitors. My 144hz LG gaming monitor is way brighter at 60hz compared to it's 144hz setting.

Not true. I have both phones in my hands and even after setting ultra to 60hz wqhd regular note 20 is still way brighter. The white colors on ultra give off yellowish tint

Based on my experience, Super Amoled always turns out to be more saturated and brighter, while the Dynamic Amoled aims for more natural color.

An important thing to touch on would be the lack of the sd slot. That's the biggest issue for me. I'm considering jumping from the 20 to the 20 ultra for that reason alone

@@lavarockzz Great phone. Battery life is insane, great big screen, the camera is really good. Autofocus ain't as quick as my S9+ though. Overall good, but not sure if it was worth the price tag. I was surprised to see the Note 20 Ultra $100 cheaper. I would've waited for the Note if I knew about the price and new features and the matte finish on the bronze model.

So I've been a Note fan for a long time and I use it as a sketchbook just about every day and I actually noticed in the store that the regular note 20 screen looked better but what really sold it for .e was the flat screen without the rounded off edges. I hated the rounded off edges when drawing on the phone. The only con I have about my choice is the plastic back but I always have it in a case so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus it does make it lighter in the pocket.
I could never have cared less about "premium feel" I always protect my 1k phone with a case anyways. I was perfectly happy with removal plastic back.🙄

I would totally purchase the reg. Note 20 for like $700-$800, but not $1000. I actually prefer it to the Ultra due to size, and I really like the flat screen.

Higher refresh usually dims displays a little that might be why. And the 1080p while it's in 120hz mode. Interesting though.

Its probably also due to the higher pixel density, more pixels means there is, overall, more space between pixels and that means less of the front of the phone is outputting light.

I just got the 20 note, and yes I was surprised at how cheap it felt in my hand. I couldn't believe I spent more than 1000 dollars on this. I recommend getting the ultra a few 300$ more won't hurt
I miss the ultra light plastic phones that were super durable. My S3 was amazing for it's time! It could multi task, split screen, screen mirror, wireless charging with a special back.... all this plus more I'm missing way before people even knew what all that was!

@@TommyMLe Just your average hard case. It's a spider crack that starts at the volume rocker switch and then branches out into 3 lines across the back. Doesn't affect functionality though.

Is talking about how the lower end model has a better looking screen when right at this point, the image on the regular Note20 is getting washed out in a glare of white where the letters blend into the image on the left side, and the Ultra presents the image clearly with more accurate color and clearly presents "Unbox Therapy Music"

it's note 20 ultra, not s20 ultra.
2 reasons why the regular Note 20 display " *looked* " better: 1: higher refresh rate requires more power, thus giving a slightly less saturation in 120hz mode. 2: The display on the Note 20 Ultra is called dynamic amoled. However Note 20 has a super amoled display. Don't let the name fool you, dynamic is better. It gives an overall better looking image and less eye strain. On the other hand Note 20 with super amoled display falls behind in nearly every aspect. The only advantage is slightly better saturation, but the dynamic amoled gives less eyestrain by a feautre samsung called blue light filter. Those are probably the reasons why.

9:23 my wife and I ran into this same thing although on a whole different level. we were both playing a game on our phones and we noticed that the game looked alot better on my phone. problem is that i have a note 8 and she has a galaxy s 10. we made sure that all settings were set equally within the phone settings and game settings. my phone still blew her phone away as hers continued to display washed out colors
I have both Note20 Ultra and Note8. The color of my Note8 is better. The Note8 has punchier color, compared to the Note20's washed out color.
@@DocOTEPStudio For everybody having this issue, I figured it out. It only happens on the homescreen. Disabling the "Apply Dark Mode to Wallpaper " in dark mode settings should fix the issue. Washed out screen gone and now matches side by side with my note 9. Your screen should then pop. You're welcome.

Maybe the display look is affected by the different glass material. That gorilla glass is tougher to break, so maybe the price of that is a reduced image. Even as slight as that, the gorilla glass is worth it in my opinion.

In my opinion, the Note 20 cover of the back is not cheap plastic... It's finger proof layered plastic and new type of plastic that is durable.. Don't think of it as regular dull plastic..

I dont know why I've noticed it on my galaxy s10 plus too. For some reason even though I have adaptive brightness off, the phone still dims the screen even on the highest brightness! Its so annoying! When I get out in the sun the screen gets brighter basically like I have adaptive brightness on when I have it off. I wish they would fix this
@@Sevan_UP Yeah I noticed that too on my S10 and even my old Note 5. My theory is that they probably turn on light sensor as well while at max (red line) no matter if you've turned on or off the adaptive brightness. It's weird lol

Just bought my note 20 regular. At 1st i got a problem with how fast it drains battery and getting hot. But later i solved by making apps that i rarely use on sleep. After that, it worked wonderfully.

PARADOX 818 no it’s not. Have you seen the note 20 display? Or used it ? And the response time on spen is 100x better. Although not as good as note 20 ultra but still major improvement. And the main offset for the plastic was because of 5g as it’s still costly to put that in.

10:56 the note 20 and note 20 ultra actually have different screen technologies... note20 has super amoled plus and note20 ultra has dynamic amoled 2x... so they're different...
One thing I did discover is I thought my Note Ultra screen looked dim, I went to the wallpaper selection app on phone and there's a setting use dark mode for wallpaper. Un click it the screen brightens up nicely

Actually, the plastic back of the Note 20 is superior to those silly "premium" glas backs who are designed to crack over a gran of sand or a light drop. Glas backs are absurd.

The purpose of the note 20 is very questionable...I mean no one in their right mind would go for it.Even if you are a samsung fan the S20 makes way more sense

Same here! but you wouldnt know unless you had both to compare side to side. Iam actually wondering if every Samsung is different, even if its the same model though! Is it possible that some are slipping through the net where the display hasnt been calibrated properly? just a thought. maybe this guy should try another Note 20 Ultra to see if he gets the same result!
I'm glad someone else mentions this. I was thinking the same thing when I got my S10 Plus. I've seen the new ones and I still feel like the S9+ had better functions and camera.

9:04 Looks like the screen on the regular Note was extra bright like it was detecting sunshine, because you can see it starts to dim when you tilt it away from the lights in the ceiling. Maybe that sunshine compensation just didn't activate on the Ultra for some reason. Lastly, could be a production error. Simple as that.
Production error, Video Enhancer was off on the Ultra, On on the standard. It's a Samsung thing that brightens video's in Programs only. It was on RUclips so video enhancer was in effect.

The reason the display looks less brighter on the ultra is because the glass, it's a denser molecule there for the light passing through is shaded in comparison to the older glass model.
For everybody having this issue, I figured it out. It only happens on the homescreen. Disabling the "Apply Dark Mode to Wallpaper " in dark mode settings should fix the issue. Washed out screen gone and now matches side by side with my note 9. Your screen should then pop. You're welcome.
This is why I'm still too scared to upgrade my Nokia 8210
