  • Is Islam Judaism? Mind Blowing Interview With Professor Reuven Firestone
Our quest in this episode is to spell out what Islam is and how it may have developed in the Arabian Peninsula in the 7th century. I found this to be my favorite episode so far in recording scholarship on Islam.

I wonder if you question your own a priori assumptions? What I have noticed about secular critics of religion is that they tend to have a set of unprovable assumptions that they hold with as much, if not more, vehemence than religious people. I think we all need to question our own a priori assumptions and unprovable commitments.

Great interview. I would like to add something that the Professor surprisingly maybe forgot to add as he has extensive knowledge, but its actually critical. It is that yes Jihad does mean struggle and he did mention its other forms such as striving for the sake of the community, but the most important Jihad for Muslims is the struggle against oneself. The struggle against your desires, destructive thoughts and habits, your 'inner demons' and so on. The struggle against taking the easy road, the struggle to be disciplined. That is the real Jihad.

No *SIMILARITIES* between *Islam* and *Judaism!* It's a pity that beloved Muslims *believe in the FRAUD* that the *oneness (monotheism/Tawhid)* of their god means that he is the *SAME* monotheistic God revealed through Moses and the Prophets in Jewish scripture (Deuteronomy 6:4). Same concept of monotheism therefore same God? *No.*
Is monotheism the ONLY attribute required to test Allah of the Qur'an's 7th century claim to be the monotheistic Judeo-Christian God of Abraham, the Creator and Most High God? Satan, who also claims to be God, would easily pass this test since he is monotheistic too.
So, holding on to just one attribute is a *False Dilemma Fallacy* because it falsifies or limits the results by relying only on ONE attribute and ignoring MANY other attributes which would have helped give a more accurate result.
Allah's strange claim to be the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible goes like this:
Al-'Ankabut (QS 29:46). "...We [Muslims] believe in all that is revealed to us and in that which has been revealed to you [Jews and Christians], and our God and your God is One, and to Him we stand resigned."
*CLASH: DOES GOD ENTER CREATION OR DOES HE NOT?*
It was common knowledge to all the Prophets of Israel, as revealed in Jewish scripture, that God *enters creation* while Allah of the Qur’an-revealed in the 7th century- *does not enter creation* (Sahih Muslim 179):
The amazing Almighty is ABLE to enter our space since he is not bound by time, space and location. God is LOVE (1 John 4:8), so out of his *love* (not weakness) he chooses to dwell among the people who are the masterpiece of his creation.
For example, in the Jewish Torah, God walked in the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:8), which is not in heaven but was located on earth, serviced by the rivers Pishon, Gihon, Tigris and the Euphrates (Genesis 2).
God appeared to Abraham on earth as a man (Genesis 18:1-15).
The glory of God descended as a cloud and *entered the temple/tabernacle of Moses (Exodus 40:34) and Solomon (2 Chronicles 7:1‭-‬3) and dwelt among the Israelites.*
That is why Jews pray facing the temple in Jerusalem. When the prophets taught, *"Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is ONE* (Deuteronomy 6:4), this is the monotheistic God of Abraham they taught about, not the 7th century Allah of the Muslims who does not enter creation! You can't just cherry pick one verse from the Torah and ignore all other attributes of God mentioned in the Torah! Do you have any idea how crazy and hypocritical that is?
Finally, God DID enter creation when he *entered the temple/tabernacle that was the BODY of Jesus (Isaiah 40:3-5, Malachi 3:1 and John 2:19-21) and dwelt among mankind* (John 1:14). Jesus is the Glory of God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14)!
The Muslim will say: *"but our God does not enter creation because he is Most High and exalted above the earth".* This would prove Allah of the Kaaba to be false for claiming (QS 29:46) to be the God of the previous scriptures *(who is the Most High and does enter creation* out of his love for mankind).
Well, in this example, if something claims to be a duck, then logically it should have feathers as does a duck.
That something cannot claim to be a duck but then say _"I am a duck who does not have feathers; I have fur"._
*(This is called a false claim: it is not a duck but something else-perhaps it is a Rabbit)*
Likewise, if the 7th century Allah of the Qur’an claims to be the God of the previous scriptures (who does enter creation) then logically Allah of the Qur’an should enter creation, as does the true God of the previous scriptures.
Allah of the 7th century cannot say, _"I am the God of the previous scriptures (who enters creation), but I don't enter creation"._
*(This is called a false claim: he is not the true God of the previous scriptures but a false god)*
Muslims worship a *false god* who claims [Al-Aʻla (87:1)] to be the Most High God of the previous scriptures who does enter but this false god does not enter creation! It's deception. In truth, Judaism and Christianity are the only true Abrahamic religions of the true God of Abraham *who enters creation* and dwells with mankind. Islam is a false 7th century Abrahamic religion.
If it has feathers, walks like a Duck and quacks like a Duck, then it surely is a Duck, not a Rabbit!
If God enters creation, appears to Abraham as man and enters and fills the tabernacle/temple of Moses and Solomon, then He surely is the true God of Abraham whom the Jews and Christians believe in and NOT Allah the 7th century false god of the Qur'an.
Being the "great planner" that Allah is, he has planned to deceive beloved Muslims into believing that he is the Judeo-Christian God.
Imagine the Rabbit saying "there is no other creature but the Rabbit" yet making the claim to be *another* creature which has feathers and a quacking sound?
Such is the terrible claim in the Islamic creed in the Shahada "there's no god but Allah" yet Allah goes on to claim to be *another* God (the Judeo-Christian God of Abraham who does enter creation).
      Blessings to you!

While Allah of Islam *claims to be the monotheistic God of the previous scriptures,* he does not enter creation as did the God of the previous scriptures. Who is deceiving who? Here are *FIVE* amazing examples of God (the glory of the Lord) *ENTERING CREATION* and *dwelling among the people* in the books of the prophets of old, and the stunning prophecy from the prophets about the *glory of the Lord* appearing to mankind in the form of *JESUS!*
*1.* In the Torah, after Adam and Eve sinned, "...they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the *presence* of the Lord God among the trees of the garden". (Genesis 3:8).
*‭‭2.* In the Torah, God appeared on earth to Abraham *(Genesis 18:1-15)*
[1] 'The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. [3] He said, “If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. [11] Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. [12] So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” [13] Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ [14] Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
*3.* In the Torah, *God entered the temple and dwelt with mankind.* God instructed Moses: "And let them make me a sanctuary; that *I may dwell among them."* (Exodus 25:8). Was this Allah of the Qur’an?
'Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the *glory of the Lord* filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the *glory of the Lord* filled the tabernacle.' (Exodus 40:34).
Was this God whose glory entered the tabernacle of Moses, Allah of the Qur’an who can not enter creation? No.
God would give Moses commands from *inside* the tabernacle in the Holy of Holies above the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:22)
*4.* Later, during the time of Solomon, the glory of God filled the temple again: 'When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the *glory of the Lord* above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “He is good; his *love* endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1‭-‬3).
His love? Yes, out of His *love,* not *weakness.* Because-unlike the out-of-reach Kaaba god who 'sends down a STONE from heaven' to Muslims-the true God of Israel, the Almighty, loves his people and HIMSELF comes down and *dwells with them!*
This is the clearest evidence that the one ☝️ (monotheistic) 7th century FALSE god of the Kaaba is not the one (monotheistic) TRUE God of Abraham of the previous scriptures who does enter creation.
Allah's claim is the biggest ever act of deception since the creation of the world. Scriptures warned that Satan would come to disguise himself as the Most High God (Isaiah 14:12-14) and even try to imitate God's righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)
*5.* Finally, God makes a prophecy of Himself coming to the earth *(by entering the temple that was the body of Jesus Christ)* and the *glory of God* being revealed in *Jesus!* :
'A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the *glory of the Lord* will be revealed, and all people will SEE IT together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 40:3‭-‬5).
Jesus, as the glory of the Lord, will be revealed to and seen by the people!
John the Baptist then confirms the prophecy of Isaiah is about himself, John (the voice of one calling in the wilderness) preparing the way for Jesus:
'This is he [Jesus] who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ” (Matthew 3:3).
"In the beginning was the *Word,* and the *Word was with God,* and *the Word was God.* The *Word became flesh* and *made his dwelling among us.* We HAVE SEEN *his glory,* the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.(John 1:1‭, ‬14)
The title 'Son of God' simply means God, who is spirit, added flesh to his divine nature. 'Son of God' means God in the flesh.
      Blessings!

Usually, I would listen to my favourite science, space, earth videos, to do go to sleep, as discussions mostly annoy me, with either one or the other side, or both, being ignorant to history & facts. What a refreshing outlook on humanity, listening to two down to earth human beings, who have taken their blinkers off and try to tell people, how things really were, are, and maybe can be, if peoples start finding their similarities. This was so relaxing for my battered mind these days, that I actually could go to sleep. Nevertheless, I will do the whole session tomorrow.

God is beyond all his creations. Neither a man or a woman. Neither God has an offspring, nor was God born. God is One and Indivisible. The Sustainer needed by all.
That's how God, Allah, is in Islam. We do not ascribe partners to God, we do not associate anything about God, except by the descriptions God alone use to himself in our Holy Book, Quran. Quran contains the exact Words of God, which has not been changed since it was revealed to God's Messenger Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Memorized letters by letters from the moment the verses is recited by him to his companions. Memorized and compiled to the book we know today, with chains of people memorize it fully from the time of the Prophet lived to this day by over to 200 millions people, and by parts by 2 billions people. So, we can affirm there had been no changes to it.

Fun fact. Muhammad and his earliest followers worshipped at the Kabah even though it contained 360 idols. On becoming a Muslim, Omar is said to have fought the Quraysh to a standstill to force them to let the Muslims pray at the Kabah. When the Quraysh mocked Muhammad for circling the Kabah, he turned on them and said 'I bring you SLAUGHTER!' The first teachings about the Last Day are taken in part almost word for word from the Gospel of St Matthew which was known to the Nazarene and Ebionite Christians around him at the time. Later, after meeting the Aus and Khazraj of Medina, Muhammad started claiming that Allah was the same god as in the Old Testament and claimed to have flown overnight to Jerusalem and back on Buraq. In 622AD he fled to Medina, and when the local Jews refused to accept him as a prophet of their own ancient scriptures, he got angry, cursed them and changed the qibla from Jerusalem to the Kabah. (Sura 2.40-110) making the daft claim that 'Abraham had built the Kabah.' Within five years of his arrival in Medina all the Jews of Medina were exiled or massacred. He then started to wage war on Christian Syria. Lovely warlord that he was. 😁

      1. You don’t know enough about Ibn Ishaq. Read more widely and critically: you aren’t the first person to discover Sirat-al-Rasul.
      2. Even your telling of events from him is very selective and biased. ( ie. They worshipped God at the Kaaba, not the idols inside, as it was understood to be the “ house of God” originally built by Abraham, and you might want to look up the definition of warlord)
      3. Perhaps you don’t realize that the Quran was revealed over time, often in response to actual events in real time. There is an entire area of study devoted to when verses were revealed and under what circumstances. This isn’t a secret.
      4. At least read some real scholars ( even non-Muslim ones) before you decide you know what happened.
      5. If you think things are facts because Ibn Ishaq wrote about them, you should know he was a Muslim and believed In Muhammad as the last prophet of God. Fact.

Quran 3:3-4 states “He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel. Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an.”
Quran 5:46 states “And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.”
Quran 6:115 states “And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”
The Quran is self-contradictory if you claimed Allah allowed his previous revelations (Torah & Gospel) to be corrupted, this leads to one of the following assumptions about Allah:
1.Allah is a weak god; he is unable to protect his previous revelations (Torah & Gospel). He also gains more power and might throughout time, because he supposedly is now able to protect his last revelation, the Quran.
2.Allah does not care about people being misled by counterfeit revelations. And yet he will still punish individuals with hell fire because they follow a corrupted Message even though they may have not come to the realization that Allah had allowed it to be corrupted. That means Allah is unjust.
In light of the above, how can we trust that the Quran is preserved if these two Revelations are corrupted? How can a person trust that Allah did not fail to protect his so-called final revelation, the Quran, when he was too weak to prevent people from tampering with his previous Messages (Torah & Gospel)?
Maybe Allah needs to a send a fourth revelation? Perhaps he has already sent down this fourth book, and that is actually the revelation given to Baha’ullah the founder of the Baha’i faith?
More importantly, how do Muslims reconcile their position with Allah’s claim in the Quran that “there is no changing the words of God”? (Quran 6:115, 18:27)
Muslims have to make a decision and choose one of these alternatives:
1.The Quran is preserved and the earlier Revelations are corrupted. In that case, Allah is either weak or he is unjust. That is the only explanation for his preservation of the Quran and letting people corrupt his previous Revelations.
2.The Quran is corrupted like the other Revelations. Then you should either not read it since you do not read other corrupted Revelations, or maybe you should read these other corrupted Revelations (the Torah and Bible) just as you insist on reading the corrupted Quran.
3.The Quran is preserved, and the previous Revelations have also been preserved. That means then you should read these authentic Revelations for yourself.
4.The Quran is corrupted but the earlier Revelations are preserved. Obviously, you should then abandon the Quran and read the Torah and Gospel.
If you picked option number three, then you will be faced with another problem. The Quran contradicts these previous Revelations (Torah & Gospel) in many essential points. That means that the Quran is a false message which cannot be from God since God is not the author of confusion. He could not reveal a message that contradicts his previous Messages.

It was a pleasant surprise to hear such positive things about Islam from a Jewish rabbi.
Most of the religions of the world initially give very simple teachings for human education and training,
but later the self-interested priests change these religions for their own purposes. Quran have discussed this phenamena in detail.
If such changes are removed from these religions, the commonality in the pure religions is much greater than the disagreement.
In religions that believe in the oneness of God, this sharing is very high.
In order to avoid the fog created by selfish priests and reach the original teachings of the religion,
it is necessary to look at the original books of the prophets without any commentary, history and traditions, then one can reach the original message of the Prophets.

"Well, researched material" is research done by PhD's or students working on their dissertations. "Source" material is when you get access to the historical documents, artifacts which confirm your argument.
Students, working on their doctoral dissertation, and those who have attained their doctorates often must master the language and ancient form(s) of that language in which the evidence is based. Many times more than one language. My sister had to master 3, Hopi for her Master, Arabic, Sanskrit and Hindi for her PhD, plus take up residence in India for many years.
We learn some things on RUclips, or purchase books, of various credentialed scholars but we cannot know if their conclusions are 100% correct.
Many times it is based on one side when there may be many. To the university board they must prove their argument is possible to a strong degree.
While one day another student may come along and overturn their findings. In the meantime, we think we are well researched enough knowing somebody's past conclusions.
Everything said by every scholar on this channel and it's host many be overturned one day. Until that time, like science's rule, you must be open to NEW studies, concepts, conclusions, tests, and archeological discoveries.
We, as non academics, are not allowed access to source materials. You must get permission from the government of the nation, and the independent body which is housing the source materials which your study is centered.
Also, libraries have source material open ONLY to those in the process of attaining their degrees or having attained it.
We learn from them, even if they are not always right or giving us the whole picture.

I like this discussion and this rabbi is far more capable of delving into these topics than most Aryanic Orientalists with primitive need to paint Arabs or Islam with a specific brush that makes them feel a bit better about Germanic nations history or Christians history.
The rabbi has given a fair and balanced take. However, there is often lack of acknowledgement that many tribes in western Arabia did consider themselves the descendants of Ishmael, and the custodians of the Kaaba temple of Mecca which was built by Abraham and Ishmael. There were many monotheists in Arabia who called themselves 'Hanafis' and considered both Judaism and Christianity as later religions from the first teachings of the Arab father, Abraham. They consider themselves to be sticking to the Abrahamic traditions rather than later religions. In every community in Arabia, there were a group that were monotheistic and refer only to Abraham. These were among the Arabs who immediately followed Muhammed and they even arrived in Mecca from all over Arabia before Islam gained strength. These Ishmaelite monotheists with affiliation to only Abraham are never considered by western scholars.
The assumption that Ishmael sons didn't hold on to their father Abraham and the assumption that all monotheistic traditions in the peninsula are somehow borrowed from Judaism is an utter and complete erasure of Ishmael and all the tribes that descended from him. Islam respected Judaism, not like how the west thinks, of Judaism being the original and Islam being a copy. No, but rather more as Judaism is what God revealed to our dear cousin Moses before the ultimate message finally revealed to the son of Ishmael. It is an acknowledgement of the decency and truthfulness of Judaism, but the utter refusal of it being a core or origin of monotheism. Quran clearly rejects giving such credit to Judaism or Christianity and rather clearly states: 'then was Abraham Jew or Christian? Now was he?'
Islam indeed sees that Monotheism is Abrahamic, a message started by the father, and ended by the son of Ishmael, with Judaism being perfect temporary message for its time, while the final son of Ishmael, Muhammed, was the end of all Abrahamic messages, the ultimate explainer of it all, and the only perfect and complete iteration of them all.
In the most overly optimistic version of pre Islamic history, native Ishmaelite monotheistic traditions that trace back to Abraham since he built the Kaaba continued for a very long time in Mecca up until one well known trader a few centuries before Muhammed bought and brought the first Idols from North or Western African pagans. Ishmaelites then eventually lost many of their monotheistic mainstream traditions with only few stuck to their guns. Muhammed came in a conquering army to Mecca and literally removed all imported idols and locally made idols from the Kaaba, and he said that Abraham built it for us, his progeny, as a monotheistic temple. Muhammed even mentioned the man who introduced idols to Mecca for the first time and eventually ruined the monotheistic faith of the sons of Ishmael, and mentioned his name as 'Luhay bin Amr' as one of the major sinners among the sons of Ishmael. Arabians, in many versions of their scholarly history, claim that Ishmaelites in Mecca were strictly monotheistic until that aforementioned man introduced idols to Meccans. This is far more deep and local to Arabia than to be ignored. This whole aspect of Arabia is never discussed, with over-focusing on the neighboring Judaistic influence instead of discussing the core ideology of Arabia, and the famous acknowledging of even pagan Arabs that Abraham wasn't pagan. Muhammed was even described by Meccans as trying to bring back ancient myths of monotheism, paradise, and hell. They knew monotheism was old school. Interestingly, even pagan Arabs remained deistically monotheistic, and acknowledged that the creator is rather one single God, but the idols are mere beloved agents accepted by that main God.

This was a nice interview. Derek you asked very good questions that were not answered or were wrongly answered unfotunetly. As a student of religion and ancient civilizations for almost 20years now, professor Reuven had to many errors in his statements. A big one is that Islam started with prophet Muhammad which everyone knows is wrong. Islam started with Prophet Adam. Not to go to deep into this if you know what Islam means then you will know what im saying. Also to say that writing was discovered only 3000 years ago is a huge mistake and shows that his knowledge of history is very weak, we have writings that are over 8000 years according to mainstream archaeology and thats a know fact like the slab. Also with the findings in Göbekli Tepe we can say minimum 12000 years not to speak about other findings that the mainstream-controlled archaeologists don't want us to know because they will have to admit that everything they said this far is wrong. If we believe in the Quran and in the this Surah “Proclaim! (or Read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created―
Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:
Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful―
He Who taught (the use of) the Pen―
Taught man that which he knew not.” (al-Alaq, 96/1-5
Then we can ask the question when was man taught to use the pen? Only God knows how many thousand or tens of thousands of years that was.
Also some other statements the professor made were very questionable. But overall it was a good interview.

Muslims do not consider their religion to be an offshoot of Judaism. According to Islamic teachings, God had sent prophets, messengers, or teachers of righteousness to all nations of the world [by one tradition nearly 124,000 of them] but over time the message changed and people started worshipping lesser gods (while, in most cases, still retaining the concept of One Supreme God).
There are hints of that in the Old Testament itself! Monotheism must have existed in Palestine even before Abraham set foot on it. In the Torah, there is the story of Abraham being greeted and blessed by Melchizedek, King of Salem. He is referred to as the Priest of the Most High, which obviously means that he worshipped the same God as Abraham. Some Christians have come up with the theory that Melchizedek was Jesus, but that is just ludicrous.
In the Old Testament we also find the story of Jethro, Moses' father-in-law. He was a monotheist but wasn't a Jew or a Hebrew. He must have given the Book of Job to Moses, who translated it from Old Arabic to Hebrew. How do we know this? That's because the original Hebrew still has many Old Arabic words which Moses couldn't translate and retained them.
Even Western scholars who are hostile to Islam argue the point that monotheism was native to Arabia. H.A.R Gibb in his book ‘Muhammedanism’ argues that “The existence of a supreme God, Allah, is assumed as an axiom common to Muhammad and his opponents. The Koran never argues the point; what it does argue is that He is the one and only one. La ilaha illa’aalah, ‘there is no god but Allah. But it is more doubtful whether this is to be regarded as the direct deposit of Christian or Jewish teaching. In the Koran it is connected with a different tradition altogether, an obscure Arabian tradition represented by the so-called ‘hanifs’, pre-Islamic monotheists whose very name shows that the Syrians regarded them as non-Christians (Syriac “hanpa”, ‘heathen’). Muhammad glories in the name and attaches it as a distinctive epithet to Abraham, 'who was neither Jew nor Christian.”

Islam did not start in 7th century. Islam started with the first human being, Adam, who was also a prophet of God. All the Prophets who came later including Noah, Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus and finally Muhammad, peace be upon them all, were Muslims. All of them preached Islam.
Judaism started when some Jews refused to accept Jesus, pbuh, as a true prophet of God. Christianity started when some people started thinking that Jesus, pbuh, was God. Both Judaism and Christianity are deviations from Islam. God gave only one religion. People started making their own religions.

The pagans arabs were masters of language, poetry, but the word "jahiliyyah" from a religious Islamic perspective means ignorance with respect to "the relationship with God i.e. true monotheism". Since paganism is contrary to true monotheism, the pre-Islamic period of Pagan Arabs is known as "jahiliyyah"

Firstly, with regard to the hadiths, the guest did not mention that there is a book that collects all the authentic hadiths, and this is what we rely on as Muslims. Secondly, with regard to the Qur’an, it did not emerge from the Torah and the Gospel, but the similarity was necessary because the Qur’an is the word of God, and it addresses all nations, not just the Arabs, so it was necessary to He mentions the stories of the previous prophets. Thirdly, we believe that Islam began with the descent of our master Adam and all the prophets were Muslims, and this is what our master Abraham said in the Qur’an. Fourthly, all the prophets came with righteous miracles in their time, but the Prophet Muhammad came with miracles for all times in the present and the future because he is charged with guiding all nations and he is The Seal of the Prophets, and you can search for the miracles mentioned in the Qur’an, and in the age of technology, scientists discovered them, and some of them were surprised and became Muslims, knowing that the Torah and the Bible are forbidden books, so Islam came. The Torah insults the Lord, and the Bible associates another god with it. Finally, I advise the owner of the platform to read the biography of his life. Prophet Muhammad, so that you may have new ideas, and I ask God to open your heart to Islam

I've been following your channel with great interest since discovering it a few months ago.
Your exploration of ancient texts is fascinating, and I'm curious if you've explored the Samaritan perspective. Specifically, how their version of the Torah, with its unique ancient Hebrew, compares to other texts, given that all are considered divinely inspired.
An intriguing aspect of Samaritanism is their historical divergence from mainstream Judaism. They identify as Israelites who, thousands of years ago, rejected the rabbinical developments adopted by other tribes. This is reflected in their religious practices: they don't follow the rabbinical prayers that replaced animal sacrifices during the Temple era. Instead, they maintain a distinct belief, focusing on Mount Gerizim rather than Jerusalem as the sacred site where the Tabernacle was placed. This divergence presents a unique lens through which to view ancient religious history and practices.

"With due respect, I believe the Rabbi may be overlooking a crucial point. When Prophet Mohammed was delivering his message, the initial audience was not Jewish or Christian; they were predominantly Pagan Arabs. The Prophet's message was not particularly aligned with the cultural and traditional beliefs of the Pagan Arabs. However, upon the Prophet's arrival in Medina, there were significant Jewish and Christian communities present , but still his presence was not welcomed by the local Jewish/ Christian communities. However, Angel Gabriel Re-affirm some prophet's existing knowledge he might learn from early traditions. Additionally, Gabriel gave him New information which was not known by the prophet through the earlier traditions.

At 29:38, Rabbi Firestone states that the Quran rarely refers to Prophet Muhammad which is a misstatement. The statement is incorrect since the Quran mentions the Prophet Muhammad in the 2nd person numerous times.

Few corrections I'd like to point out:
    1. The Qur'an, while not DIRECTLY quote from the old scriptures word to word, you'll come across certain verses that allude to very specific parts of the scriptures. Sometimes it's obvious, may even use the same wordings, sometimes it's subtle. If you look at the Qur'an the same way a cinephile dissects every frame of a movie, you can expect to find all of them.
    2. "Jahiliyya" refers to the theological and moral ignorance of a society. A society can be as advanced and sophisticated in terms of architecture, literature, sciences etc. and yet you'll find it riddled with castes, human sacrifices, infanticides, slavery, racism. Qur'an recognizes these material achievements, and dismisses them.
