Exactly the kind of tutorial that I needed ! Thank you so much! My dropshots usually bounce so high its embarassing. Hopefully I can put this technique to good use now.
I wouldn't ever try to correct Nik as he is the best coach on youtube, but I think the position of hitting the drop shot is important as well. Especially when Alcaraz is playing his drop shots, you see that he is hitting them clearly in front of his body like a 'normal' topspin forehand or a volley. I think this helps increasing the control over these shots. Maybe Sara hits them too late when the ball already passes her torso.
Great video my friend. I practice the ball catching technique with Ashley and Little Joshua, I grew up playing on clay courts and I got really good at drop shots, I got really good hitting a two handed drop shot. Great video my friend.
@@IntuitiveTennis did you see the Rudd vs Zaung match? Zaung hit some beautiful drop shots, with amazing touch. I know he watches your videos my dude! My coach Rick Bowersen used to be a pitcher for the New York Yankees and was a lefty and his slice and drop shots were sick. Rick GOD bless his soul could hit a drop shot from anywhere on the court and his volley skills were second to anyone I ever seen play the net on doubles. Rick was a good friend of Mac, and I meant Mac and Rick and Mac would talk about the Yankees, I reminded them my Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Yankees in the World Series and have never lost a World Series to the Yankees. Rick would say some funny stuff and everyone would laugh. I miss Rick he passed away at age 83 and there isn’t a day out on the tennis court were I still hear him coaching me. His famous line, watch the ball the ball frog face, he said that to his wife one time, and she ripped back on him, and ever since that day, everyone who didn’t watch the ball was a frog face! Hahe great video and I will share it with little Joshua and Ashley, because they wanted to learn the drop shot.
Great precise explanation of this progression. Great to see a talented player who is serious and absorbs the info quick not to mention manifesting it quickly for the video production. Loved this video Nik. Hope to see Sara and Emma play against each other, or maybe have her go against one of your students. Cheers and good weekend! M
This validation came at a perfect time; thanks🙏🙏 just had 2 surgeries on my left hand. Been practicing one arm serve using Roddick style starting with ball sitting in the throat🎾
Is she "acting" on purpose for your video the unknown or did she never played as a D1 player a fore-hand-slice, what is more the same as a drop-shot ? Question over question... good video :-) And as the end shows, eyes always on the ball...
This is the video I've been looking for!!! The hardest shot in tennis

Nick is a great coach. GOD gave the man a great gift.
Something I have never even tried in my tennis sessions. Definitely need to incorporate that in my game.
Good video Nick

@@IntuitiveTennisYea, I hear you. Keep up the great work!
Great lesson + Great tan = Great video !
Love this! Thanks so much!
🙏🙏
Excelente vídeo e aplicarei imediatamente as dicas. Obrigado!
💯🙌
Great lesson, top notch.
💯
merci pour cette excellente vidéo . mais il me semble que tu n'as pas parler de la prise de raquette qu'il faut avoir . prise marteau il me semble?
Yes continental grip
Loved the audio narration.
💯
by the 2:50 mark, her dropshot is already lethal. Awsome.
Serve masterclass with Sara

Is it apply to backhand drop shot too? Thanks!!
Yes
Sara has such a good forehand.
7:33 freaked me out for a second
oh, I did not realize the wrist is so passive w/ the drop shot. I try open and carve under the ball but I'll try these progressions...
Roger Federer could catch the ball on the strings using the feel the coach explained great video.
💯
I remember one of the best dropshots. It was made by Federer from hard Berdych's service, maybe in Miami. It was b*r*u*t*a*l
oh, sorry it was not dropshot after service - ruclips.net/video/B0HbctxYnvU/видео.html
Touch can also be learned by using a wall and stopping the ball with absorption.
As for me one the best "absorber" was Rafael Nadal.
❤
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
She's a hard hitter!
Which grip is best for the drop shot?
Continental
is it legal to catch the ball with the racket (as at the beginning) and toss the ball to the opponent's court?
Illegal
Thanks🙏 again. In tango we say keep your body quiet.👍
Love that!

Sara is nice 🎾🎾👌
oh yes, during the game it's completely different story specially when you're pretending to hit regular shot
Is she "acting" on purpose for your video the unknown or did she never played as a D1 player a fore-hand-slice, what is more the same as a drop-shot ? Question over question... good video :-) And as the end shows, eyes always on the ball...
like
Seems like she is trying to hit it instead of catching
She doesn't look like former D1 player. Looks like she haven't played tennis at all
Is she single?
I am first!
Thank you Hans
More Sara.. she's so cute..
