The design i great but the problem is it's aluminium and they get really hot if used a lot and that's the main reason the battery needs to be replaced.
I have the se and it is a great phone and I agree that the design is good but unfortunately I don’t think they will go back that design but they could do something similar to it

Recently I bought an *ICLOUD* LOCKED iPhone 5s and restored it, (cracked screen) removing the lock with the help of the *owners* passcode.
Got this phone for only *12$* AMAZING STEAL!

because the glass around the home button is broken and then the glass ultimately cuts the flex cable
I bought a iphone se for 14 pounds but its icloud locked and the sim tray is missing can i get the icloud off without finding old owner as i bought on ebay

I got a cracked 6s 64gb missing the home button from one of my skateboard homies for $30. The eBay $2 home buttons are pretty much sh!t I’ve been through 2 in 3 months but there really isn’t an alternative

Only thing these videos leave out that I feel might be on purpose is the cost vs return on refurbishing these phones. My recent 64gb se unlocked dead battery/charger refurbished totaled $68 but they only resell for about $75-$80 now so it becomes less economical to repair these when you can pick up iPhone 7s with upgrade internals or even newer androids for only $100. Now these are diy prices not possibly the same price shops pay (these are parts only no labor factored) but still is a major reason why these get tossed out more often then repaired.
Totally agree reducing ewaste but even off brand parts costs are a little too inflated too as another detractor for self repair & phone prices going up & up.
If we could get more suppliers to offer quality parts at lower prices, I think there would be a lot more people trying self repairs.
Not bashing the video though! I’ve literally learned how to self repair using these video of Hughes but I just think to be fair to viewer & in some phone repair scenarios showing the money /saving /costs would be honest useful info

Hey Hugh. If the iphone sometimes loses the network reception, would changing the antenna cable solves the problem?
I have the SE but it heats up very quickly. I dont know if its just mine or the phone model itself but its a good phone. It does what it needs to.
Actually, most of those iPhone housing came from a place named Hua Qiang Bei, a district of ShenZhen City, some of them are new, third-party manufactured housing, some are from old or repaired iPhones in some retail store

I’ve had the se pretty much since it was released (gold version) just upgraded to the iPhone se 2020. My old one doesn’t have a scratch on it. No wear or anything. Don’t know how people get them like this. My old one is back in its box tucked away never to be seen again. All safe 😌
I've watched a few button replacement where a new one is grafted onto the original cable, cutting and scraping the lines and some soldering. Maybe you can try you hand on one.
I think I am pretty lucky because I replaced an iPhone 6 lcd (for myself) and I forgot to disconnect the battery before the display I’m lucky I didn’t fry anything, and also this is a question, I bought a 10$ aftermarket display, and when I shut it down the slide to shut down thing keeps going back about halfway between sliding it, and also the y key won’t work. What should I do?

I decided to open my iphone 6 because i droped it yesterday the screen was cracked and the home button was lose but its working fine after i open and tighten the screws i noticed the wifi signal is weak that wasnt the issue before i open it should i completely disassemble my phone and assemble it properly?
Right so Hugh, I swapped that metal housing round on my iPhone 6 Plus and brought a new screen and battery I swapped all the logic board and all that stuff into the new housing and it doesn’t turn on but I don’t think it is the battery because the phone heats up when I put it on charge but the screen turns on. Any idea what it could be?

I think it is because multiple things he liked were removed in the newer updates
It’s because once you update a phone, it can never go back to the original. That’s why iPhones with older iOS are so rare and expensive. There are a few workarounds an certain devices though. Like some type of thing you can do with the 3G.
Where do you buy your replacement screens and batteries from?
Great Video. Recently the touch id of my iPhone 5s stopped working. It was not a big deal with for some reason the phone started draining a lot of power. It wouldn't even last 6 hours on standby. I googled and it was due to malfunctioning touch id. I read that a quick fix would be to unplug the touch id cable from IC and did exactly that. Power drain issues have been solved. I am using assistive touch now as home button.
I would like to replace my home button. I don't need touch id but just a functioning home button. What all should I keep in mind before purchasing a spare home button?

On a iPhone 5s you can just go ahead and buy an aftermarket Homebutton or one from another iPhone 5s. You can than still click it but Touch ID won’t work....
Hye.. i just did the battery replacement for iphone se. After the replacement i found that the fingerprint scanner isnt working as before. I didnt touch anything except for the battery. Do you have any suggestion what can i do to regain the fingerprint scanner? Thanks

How did you get the logic board out? The one I’m restoring, the logic board seems to have adhesive on it or something, it feels pretty stuck
Quick off-topic question; Other than going to Apple, is there any way of getting Touch ID to work on an iphone 6 with the original home button after an aftermarket home button has been installed? I have reset the phone but it seems Apple lock it out forever.

Hey Hugh, recently i've been changing out housings for my iphone SE and it had this weird issue where top right corner of the screen pops out and wont clip in. Any way to fix that apart from gluing it?
max U can get a new screen, it’s probably not the easiest solution but it will fix all your problems... A new screen costs around 25-30$

I just bought a brand new iPhone SE from best buy for 59.99. Insane sale going on!
i got like 3 se's from ebay for less than 200 dollars. I got 3 cuz I'm an idiot and kept getting tempted by the good deals lol but I originally just wanted to get one to use as an iPod. I got two 64 gbs and one 128 gb and that's the one I use although it has a faulty battery cuz it dies insanely quickly despite saying 92% battery health. You can have it at 100 percent at night, go to sleep, wake up, turn it on and it'll have 70%, and it'll over 3 minutes go down to 60. Pretty sure even for an SE that's insanely bad battery life so eventually I'm gonna replace the battery, I just haven't gotten around to it cuz I also wanna get an actual iPod classic and just upgrade the battery and storage on one of those.

Hey I have a se that I dropped the LCD is cracked half of it has lines and it was usable I just have to touch it lightly but it fell and it cracked even more the touch digitizer is busted I am wondering if u can fix it for me plz I need it and can u replace the GPU or the cpu it was cut in half fortnite was able to run at 30 now it only runs at 15 fps so I need it fixed to use it again
