This really shows you how powerful and smart Iroh was when he was Crown Prince, he didn’t need a giant drill to break through the Outer Wall. They don’t call him the Dragon of the West for nothing.
Azula is the greatest bender of her generation. Her flames being so hot they are BLUE. The SKILL level is leagues ahead of everyone else, especially in the comics! And she’s also a complex character and wonderful villain.
If you're a comic reader you actually find it boring that Zuko beats her so consistently now?. Especially because at the moment he isn't very interesting and Azula is a goldmine of "give her more story arcs".
3:30 I love the moments when Aang combines multiple bending abilities with on-the-fly maneuvers to get through the obstacle instead of just blasting through stuff with energy.
The bend battles are so endlessly creative it astounds me to this day. I sometimes complain about Aang not getting a real hero moment at the siege of the north since it was the fish and the avatar state doing everything but it makes this moment so much more earned. I get chills every time when the theme starts at 3:30
You are soo lucky to have a grandma interested enough to watch something like this with you. I'd do anything to convince someone from my family to watch these things with me

I tell ya, at 3:46 when I had first seen that since when I was a kid I was both terrified and amazed by Azula's precision. She *ALMOST* gave him a headshot back then! Missed him by a hair! She's my favourite villian of the *ENTIRE* series. Her father Firelord Ozai aka The Phoenix King doesn't even come close!
Honestly this fight is what made me truly appreciate just how great the fights were in this show. The choreography's so creative, I genuinely can't name a single time the same move was used the same way more than twice. And the fluidity of the fight scenes combined with how it emphasises the weight of each attack. I love how everyone could tell 1:30 was gonna be a powerful attack by the half a second of charge-up alone. The animators, writers, and choreographers all knew what they were doing and combined their efforts spectacularly. Also can we take a second to appreciate how that huge drill ship was taken down entirely by just 4 people and their clever tricks. It would've been so easy for the writers to just give the Aang gang a bunch of super buffs so they could fix everything through brute strength, but despite that the writers always made their feats impressive but not unrealistic. They win the day with tactics that a small team of benders would realistically be able to use, and with that 6 people could take down a warring nation. Incredible

This really shows you how powerful and smart Iroh was when he was Crown Prince, he didn’t need a giant drill to break through the Outer Wall. They don’t call him the Dragon of the West for nothing.
Did I ever tell you how I got the name "The Dragon of the West"?

2:28 Aang is one lucky boy even if it was brief
The sad thing is that it's just her armor
Bruh
😂😂😂
Azulaang for the win!
Aang's face at that time should look like your avatar
Don't forget, Azula faced defeat for the first time.
Except when Iroh stopped her lightning and tossed her overboard from her ship.
@@winddoggo9406 yep, she was crazy and needed to go down.
but she used the tactic from this defeat to take down the earth kingdom from the inside
When Iroh tossed her off the board?
@@ashlynwolff Iroh tossed Azula off her own ship in episode 1 of season 2 after she tried to shoot lightning at Zuko.
The Drill is probably my all time favorite episode of the show, so much action got crammed into this one episode
Azula is the greatest bender of her generation. Her flames being so hot they are BLUE. The SKILL level is leagues ahead of everyone else, especially in the comics! And she’s also a complex character and wonderful villain.
What about tap-dancing Zuko?
I already know that, but the comment is much appreciated.
@@davidhong1934 DON'T EVER MENTION ZUZU!! HAVE YOU GOT NO CLASS??!??!!!!
Did she get redemption in the comics?
If you're a comic reader you actually find it boring that Zuko beats her so consistently now?. Especially because at the moment he isn't very interesting and Azula is a goldmine of "give her more story arcs".
I really appreciate how there's no unnecessary dialogue between Azula and Aang, the both got straight to it
3:30 I love the moments when Aang combines multiple bending abilities with on-the-fly maneuvers to get through the obstacle instead of just blasting through stuff with energy.
The bend battles are so endlessly creative it astounds me to this day. I sometimes complain about Aang not getting a real hero moment at the siege of the north since it was the fish and the avatar state doing everything but it makes this moment so much more earned. I get chills every time when the theme starts at 3:30
Scenes like this I can't imagine being done in live-action
Aang and Momo’s relationship is actually cute. They’re mostly together 😂🥺
When i was watching ATLA with my grandma at 2:43 she said "finally this thing did something to help" 💀💀💀
You are soo lucky to have a grandma interested enough to watch something like this with you. I'd do anything to convince someone from my family to watch these things with me
Bro i love how their personality reflects their fighting style:
Aang is on the defensive, he uses the water to redirect azulas attacks and uses earth to keep a distance between her and him.
the signature 'ding'' sound everytime azula showed up on a scene is epic attention to detail
The music when aang starts sprinting down the wall gives me shivers every time!!
2:07
When I first saw this episode, I thought Aang was going to use the Avatar State. At least he found a creative way to block.
Its like the lightning scene, azula doesnt stay passive, when her enemy does something unexspected, she acts
Yeah she missed him by a hair
Incredible
Aang had to waterbend, earthbend AND airbend just to keep up with Azula ! She's a ferocious fighter.
"And since you can't see, I should tell you, I'm rolling my eyes"- Best line of Azula
anime: *plays opening them during a fight scene*
Azula's theme: *ding*
it's been years, and i still absolutely love everything about Aang doing a U-turn on the wall as the music swells.
They didn’t show it but, it always makes me laugh when mai pops out and makes sure azula and ty lee know, “we lost”
2:10 sound looked like sonic sound effect 😂
That's was a Spindash lol
1:41 the drill itself may have saved Aang’s life by delaying Azula and giving him several seconds to recover
I don't think azula would have killed aang, but it would definitely save him
Don't let her hot looks fool you, she is colder than she looks
@@dioncii8902but she tried to hit him when he was still unconscious
Nobody talks about the fire spin Pokémon move that Azula pulled off. LIKE WHAT???
I just couldn't stop laughing at this part when Azula got pushed back 3:47 LOL 😂
1:16 Peak Flexibility moment
This show was perfect before it’s time to be appreciated.
No when it came out it was very appreciated
Huh??
So true
Honestly Azula is my favorite villain /character of all time very well written, you can't hate her 🔥
Lol I remember watching this and absolutely hating Ty lee. I thought she was a terrible person, and now... How wrong I was...
gosh how much I LOVE that music that plays at the end. so epic and heroic!!!!
I LOVE how Aang uses all three elements in this
