What an accurate review. I really love my Crusade but the blind spots on the rear quarters are a drama, especially when towing. This was an oversight in design by Toyota. You have to be on the ball especially when changing lanes as the rear quarters are extended and the mirrors don't pick up that blind spot
i own the previous gen model of this beast and would simply like to tell all the viewers that this car is way better then the mitsubishi pajero or the ford endaevour(everest) as it is called in india. speaking abt the indian market the toyota fortuner is way more famous and successful in the indian markets as compared to the others. the only flaw abt the older gen is that it has got drum breaks in the rear wheels and thus it makes the braking not as good as it shud be but all in all its a great car. i would like to tell my friends from australia that the older version is powered by a 3 lrs engine whereas the new version launched in australia is coming with a 2.8 lrs engine similar to the toyota innova crysta.
best value for money. just take care of her she will run 300k easily without any trouble. i wish hilux was available in India... only downside is its not a all time 4 wheel drive...
G'day Clemente. There haven't been any changes in 2016 over the initial specs and prices on the current car, which was released for Australia in October 2015.
Hi we are buying a fortuner but the G variant. I am just worries that we might regret it. Cause endavour pajero sports are largely tough competitors. Trailblaizzers (the red ones) too are definitely eye catching Hope u could help me ease my mind. Thanks for those who will comment 👍
You won't regret it especially if you use the Fortuner's capabilities off-road a lot. Both the Pajero Sport and Trailblazers are good options too, though.
Depends what you're after … if you need seven seats, then it has to be the Fortuner as the GC is only a five-seater. Plus, given the Jeeps have had numerous recalls, I'd be more comfortable buying into Toyota quality…
This is actually the first Fortuner model to come to Australia, so perhaps one of our international viewers will be able to answer better! However, this model is based on the HiLux ute - and the ride quality is certainly better than the previous HiLux model.
How does it drive on the tarmac? I have read from some reviews that the 4x4 mode only works off road, and that it locks back to FWD mode when on proper roads. Any confirmation?
+Boon Khong Foo the Fortuner is a RWD platform but the four wheel drive system is manually operated - it can be switched between two (RWD) high and four high either on road or off road. That's how it worked in testing - hope that helps!
+DENZIL KURIAPARAMBIL So the six-speed manual variants have an intelligent function (activated by a switch beneath the gear selector). Basically, when you depress the clutch and move the gear selector into a lower gear, the engine automatically revs to the smoothest shift point, which removes any inaccuracy and jolting from downshifting - you don't have to get on the throttle to smooth out downshifts. Not only does it make for smooth manual changes on the road, but it takes that problem out of your hands while off roading which is helpful.
Toyota has the best engine desingsing my mums car is a hilux and the car is 20 years old it stil going and mazda sl so has realy great engine dresingsing my friends car he has has his mazda for 8 years still going
+Tunar Arpas Yeah, it's still a HiLux-based platform so you feel a bit of shake on rougher surfaces. It's not car-like to the degree of the Kluger - but it's way more capable off-road!
+Jithu Kailaas Everest is very capable - but in the Australian market, it's priced well beyond the Fortuner so I've got to take that into account. As a guide, a top-spec Fortuner Crusade auto is $61,990 while the equivalent Everest Titanium is $76,990.
+Jithu Kailaas but it's a Ford. How's the long term reliability ? There reputation isn't as good as Toyota's. Im sure both Ford and Toyota have good and bad points.

Interesting points from a market that's had the Fortuner for a while. Thanks!

only downside is its not a all time 4 wheel drive...
Yep but you can switch it into high-four and make the Fortuner/HiLux virtually a full-time 4WD vehicle.
Chasing Cars but not on the road right?????
@@ToddHendry using 4h on the road can burn more fuel so it is economical if it is not a fulltime 4wd...
Good review, mate. Was just wondering what's the difference between the 2015 crusade model and the 2016 model crusade?
G'day Clemente. There haven't been any changes in 2016 over the initial specs and prices on the current car, which was released for Australia in October 2015.
Thanks, mate not even minor changes in interior? Cheers.

thanks, iniisip ng daddy ko mag-upgrade from Monterosport 2014 Gls-V to Fortuner entry level
Hmmm undecided now on whether to purchase this or not.
Is it pearl white Crystal colour
can two adults seat perfectly in the third row seats...??
+Master minds It's not the biggest third row but two average sized adults will fit for short trips. It's designed for kids.

yo. Mr kangroo, I have enough money to buy only 1 suv. should I go for the fortuner or Ford Everest. what is your opinion Mr Roo
How about fuel economy? Better than the Isuzu MU-X?
prado 2010 vs fortuner 2016 i need sugestions ?
Between fortuner and Grand cherokee which one is the best? Great review as always! Cheers

How is the ride quality of the new fortuner, has it improved from the older versions?

Hi Tom want to know how is the NVH levels in the fortuner? As it's on our list for family SUV😀
Pretty average, to be honest. The underlying HiLux platform isn't great for NVH, nor is the Fortuner. A Ranger/Everest is notably better.
TBH if more comparison with everest or pajero , this video would be better.
I'll aim to put one of those together for you Chen!
More info on the 6 speed manual gearbox and iMT would be great as I haven't found any reviews on the net yet for the same.

what about knee room.??
In the third row? Well, I mean it's not good. Kids will be OK, adults won't want to be there for long.
Getting this for first car
Lucky you! Hopefully you take it off-road, into its natural element.
Is that stain form Belgium 🇧🇪
How many price car???
The GX is $47,990, the GXL is $52,990 and the Crusade is $59,990. Adding the auto is another $2,000 across the range. 👍🏼
There are so many cars that never reach the U.S shore.
Feels.
But the US has the pretty cool looking toyota 4Runner
We'll probably see that out here again at some point.
3:31 - 4:07 jolt even on road?
+Tunar Arpas Yeah, it's still a HiLux-based platform so you feel a bit of shake on rougher surfaces. It's not car-like to the degree of the Kluger - but it's way more capable off-road!
nice suv
I'd say you need to look at ur mic placement. a little distortion there mate.
Will do. Thanks for the feedback!
i am buy this car
Let us know how it goes
ASIF KHAN
nice. I love it
sounds like a good vehicle but it just looks awkward if not ugly.
+Tim Wilson The styling is a bit of an acquired taste, though it's not as unwieldy-looking (from the back) as the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Ugly vehicle, comparing to new Ford everest.
+Techi Kumar agree, ford everest is better looking, but still everest is not a good looking / stylish suv either
the 6th doctor.
moon roof??
No, not even a sun roof dude
Afraid not, Jed - you'd have to step up to a Prado for that option.

ford Everest is the best in this category
+Jithu Kailaas Everest is very capable - but in the Australian market, it's priced well beyond the Fortuner so I've got to take that into account. As a guide, a top-spec Fortuner Crusade auto is $61,990 while the equivalent Everest Titanium is $76,990.
+Chasing Cars in our country however, the ford everest is much more cheaper at around 1.8 or 1.9 million. while the everest peaks high at 2 million ++
+Jithu Kailaas but it's a Ford. How's the long term reliability ? There reputation isn't as good as Toyota's. Im sure both Ford and Toyota have good and bad points.
Ford everest all the way, 😋
They just need to drop the price a little!
cabin room is small.. it wobbles when driving on highways.. without 4x4 this suv is pointless..
Nice review. But that is so ugly!
+iVlog Yeah, not the best looker. But so practical!
The previous model is better in terms of outside aesthetics.
