The Boogeyman : try to ask about the safety & reliability record before giving your comment. Your Mitsubishi may have win some areas but in the long run, Toyota still prevails because again I think this might sound irritating to the ears of Mitsubishi lovers, but safety and reliability plus durability and dependability has been part of Toyota. With Pajero I can keep full speed. I'm always in control and the car does what I want it to do. Love it! BTW, the third row seats are adjustable;) It was the lack of the safety features in the Toyota that made us choose the Pajero. Never regret that choice

Mitsubishi by far!! We have in our family and old Pajero, brand new from 1990 still running like time hasn't passed, simply amazing we trust Mitsubishi over Toyota.
Based on many reviews we didn’t even bother with the Fortuna. Tested the Holden Trailblazer earlier this year, and more recently the Isuzu MU-X and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. While the way the PS tethers a child seat is odd, the comfort, safety, technology, and off road options beat the MU-X by a mile. Obviously Trailblazer is no longer available - but PS definitely beat that too. Value is amazing. No contest really in my opinion. We can’t wait to pick ours up soon!!! I’m coming from a Holden Colorado LS-X MY2015 - the fact that I can hear myself think in the PS due to reduced noise, and doesn’t feel like I’m sitting on a plank of wood will be a welcome change.
I recently (July 2020) bought Pajero Sport exceed version. I had full choice between Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuna, Isuzu MUX. Engine and ride in Mitsubishi was real selliing point. That and options in exceed version plus the brilliant Super Select II 4wd system, which makes a fool like me look good when it gets tough.
I note in the comments that some viewers claim the Toyota is dearer because of reliability, however I bought three Pajeros, one after the other, ending with the 2004 model and I found them super reliable. I have been driving German cars since 2006 because they have far softer suspensions which I need for my ruined back. From watching this show, I would be prepared to test drive the new Pajero, in the hope that the suspension has improved enough for my bad back. In my experience I have found the German cars ride better and have superior engines but overall reliability is definitely in the Japanese camp.
I watched the previous comparison and really couldn't understand how yourll picked the fortuner . Now it makes sense . Better than that i ignored your review and went and got my self a pajero sport 😀
Pros with Mitsubishi SUVs over Toyota: has better on and off road balance and less risk of rolling over if ever you lose your steering control or have a puncture at high speed. All the new Toyota's are notorious for this instability. This has got to be the most important thing SAFETY. Fuel economy Mitsubishi is top here. Alot more comfortable. Cons: once you have an engine problem with a new Mitsubishi that's the end, one problem will lead to another and you'll end up spending your entire life savings fixing one thing after another, any third Generation and above Pajero owner here I'm sure can agree to this FACT! Loads of experienced Toyota mechanics, not so much the case with Mitsubishi. Parts also way more expensive and harder to find than Toyota. Toyota: Pros: Reliability. Better resale price. Spares more readily available and often cheaper than Mitsubishi. Cons: Watch those curves at high speed, many have had accidents whilst driving at high speed around curves and high speed into puddles. Don't get me wrong but Mitsubishi SUVs are amazing yes but once they start having engine problems they can teach you a thing or two about life's uphill battles.
Wilhelm Hesse You’re wrong at the Toyota part men, The Mitsubishi is actually Cheaper with way above safety and tops specs, Unlike the fortuner Way more expensive lacks out of safety and specs.😇 P.S. I’m not triggered
We own a 5 seat Pajero Sport Exceed, lovely car for both on and off road and going to the tip, gearbox is nice for the daily and just looks gorgeous with the DRLs, she was the perfect replacement for our 2003 DHD Pajero Exceed; we did consider the fortuna while looking for a replacement for the old girl. Great review and comparison as always blokes, both good cars for the great southern land.
WIlhelm , I have had mine for 12 months now, I got the base model 5 seater because I don't need the extra rear seats getting in the way or the extra electronic do dads. I can honestly say it was a wise choice, good value for money, good warranty and after sales service, very quiet and comfortable on and off road, very economical to run, it is actually more comfortable and uses less fuel than my Holden SV6 Sportwagon it replaced. On highway trips fuel consumption can drop down to as low as 7.2 L/100klm and towing my heavy tandem work trailer it averages 11 L/100klm. My only gripe is the paint seems very thin, after a few off road trips there are signs of bushes rubbing along the sides that seem to have rubbed through the top coat, also the metal body panels seem very thin and can dint very easily. Other than that I am very happy and glad I chose the Mitsy Sport. 👍

got the same problem with my fortuner but in aussie they use 2.8 liter engine not 2.4 liter we got here in Indonesia and Malaysia but now my Toyota already fix this problem on my car
Hi All own a 2016 Fortuner , I tell you now no issues here in Australia with gearbox, 8 months ago I completed 8000km trip from Sydney to Darwin, Kakadu towing a Camper Trailor, cruised beautifully along our freeways,I tell you now I had my doubts if I should of bought a Prado, but tell you now Fortuner perfect vehicle power to weight ratio , had no real issues, waded perfectly across East alligator River, only thing I did when we got back to Sydney I booked it in for Service Toyota to dump oil & water coolant flush, but all good.
dshiningsword some people love it, some people dont. in my own perspertive the design was something futuristic that would distinguish among the rest. :-)
in malysia, they didn't bring new generation Mitsubishi pajero sport.. but they did bring new generation fortuner. frankly speaking i love the old pajero, my wife used owned the 1997 2.8 intercooler turbo version which still incredibly good but 2 thing i hate when transmission broke down, its cost a lot of money and fuel consumption isn't that great... now she owned a mpv car which is fuel saving and low cost maintenance but she said, she miss the powerful engine pajero used to offered which enable her to drive in any situation
No surprise. How many Dakars has Mitsi won? I have a jacked up 2013 challenger. The things a beast off road and not all bad on the blacktop. So under rated.
CarAdvice is ALL OVER THE PLACE with their reviews. One day it's the Pajero, next the Everest, next the Fortuner but its not 'slight advantage goes to' sort of thing, it's more like "we can't wait to get out of this car (wait 12 months) ...we love this car!" when barely nothing has changed
I owned a 2007 4 Cylinder Fortuner in Middle East. Although, I never felt anything wrong in my 10+ years of city and highway driving, multiple well-wishers warned me about Fortuners rolling over to the side on highways due to which we were quite afraid of going on long rides. I would like to know whether that's a myth or a reality...
Don't understand why they are reviewing the entry level and poorly specced fortuner... Its such a more capable car... Plus navigation is standard in fortuner even in india.. I mean come on guys... U can do better
Mitsubishi pajero the best winner driving performance experience is very very very good comfortable, stability manuvering cornering handling, advance safety features futuristic gearbox, holding Guinness book of world records off-road rally racing champions
I remember their last review on Pajero Sport it had only 5 seats. Pajero Sports has a better Off road technology and better suspension and many cool stuff than Fortuner
Seems like such an odd reason to lose the last comparison but win this one. PS beats the Fortuna in basically every aspect except dicky seats....until now!
Hi Guys, Just want to know where did you guys film that i would like to take my Pajero up into the bush so please let me know where you guy filmed that. Thanks Jai
Space Monkey. Mitsubishi!!! many years off road DNA , better 4x4, better suspension!!! Toyota only cars but mitsubishi is everywhere in the sea land air and space!!! looks mitsubishi heavy industrial, electric, robotics nuclear defence air 5generetion and space!!! very huge company!!! the best machine and engines!!!
they also have an electronics, electric motors like starters & alternators & elevators. The 1st atomic was dropped to Mitsubishi Aircraft Engine factory in hiroshima japan. They are really great brand/make.
Both cars companies, per say, are great and so are their cars. Finally it boils down to value for money, in totality. In totality means, importantly, after sales service and on-road assistance. In India, Mitsubishi is practically non existent in these two critical areas whereas Toyota after sales service and on-road assistance is supremely great, only next to Maruti Suzuki. Besides this, spares too are quite expensive for a Pajero here. So even if the Pajero is slightly cheaper and also has that last bit of technology advantage (maybe) over Fortuner, if you are buying it in India you should go hands down for a Fortuner in this budget category.
i wanted a secondary utility car for the family.. where i live the dealer brings some cars with like 2 airbags in front.. with very expensive price tag compared to Pajero .. it's Mind blowing.. i get it.. toyota is the king of "reliability".. sadly.. paying for fully equipped Toyota utility cars like Prado or fortuner is like paying almost a full premium car price.. it almost reaches a point that i might as well better off paying for a full large suv from other brands.. sadly our toyota dealer has the audacity to abuse the brand name and increases their cars by 2000$ per year for no reason.. i feel toyota cars pre-2010 has more value/price.. nowadays it's ridiculous... finally i decided to get the pajero fully equipped + it has 7 airbags.. i still managed to get it cheaper by 4000 $ compared to starting price of 6 cylinder version of Fortuner ... it even have a better fuel efficiency than the forturer.. i couldn't get over how illogical buying an overpriced fortuner over a pajero.. they both almost identical in terms of their objective for their buyers.. and it's not like other Japanese manufacturer cars will break anytime in the first 5 years.. the peace of mind of driving with radar safety on pajero is even more worth it to get it.. even if both equally priced.. the car managed to help me avoid few collisions in some moments.. saving my time and mind from headaches.. still appreciative it's "value" to this day! i still dislike it's rear end.. but hey.. it's not like fortuner is the best looking car ever.. or any of toyota lineup anyway.. so it doesn't matter much to me.
Quick question, the trucks are family units did you ever tested with at least 4 people in the car to validate dynamics and suspension, a single driver is not really representative
Test drove both, Pajero has the best suspension with more features at a lower price, it's very tiring driving the Fortuner even on city roads.

I dont like Pajero's rear design..... if they change something like Fortuner has than I'll buy next day....
dshiningsword some people love it, some people dont. in my own perspertive the design was something futuristic that would distinguish among the rest. :-)
dshiningsword
Yeah I'll have to agree with you on this
Yeah, the tail end is ugly, or should i say an acquired taste.
dshiningsword but the body is thin
dshiningsword no
Mitsubishi are great. Trusted for long distance driving. One country to another it’s ready to go none stop
wow i will buy Mitsubishi thank you
Here in the Philippines, the Fortuner -- in my view -- is just way too expensive! It's not a bad vehicle obviously, but just expensive.
Pajero is my favorite
I'd take the PS anytime, even with my eyes closed..lol. It' s amazing how many standard features it has and still cheaper.
Love to see Mistabishi Pajero Sport vs Ford Endeavour 2016
chetan mehta and Mitsubishi is the winner!!!
chetan mehta and Ford is the winner!!!
Toyota all the way, but I like the interior of the Pajero better.
im getting a pajero sport :)
I like Toyota Cars like Land Cruiser Prado 2018. It is so cool
price is x2 - x3 for LC compared to Montero/pajero
Well done good for you
THIS IS THE REAL PAJERO ruclips.net/video/XBL8p2PO9OI/видео.html
In this Video that mitsubishi is a Montero sports
Pajero Sport FTW!!!
I am so excited are 2016 Pajero sport will be received on next 2 or 3 weeks
Rommel Louie Asri how is ur experience with it ?
in malysia, they didn't bring new generation Mitsubishi pajero sport.. but they did bring new generation fortuner. frankly speaking i love the old pajero, my wife used owned the 1997 2.8 intercooler turbo version which still incredibly good but 2 thing i hate when transmission broke down, its cost a lot of money and fuel consumption isn't that great... now she owned a mpv car which is fuel saving and low cost maintenance but she said, she miss the powerful engine pajero used to offered which enable her to drive in any situation
You need to compare the top spec fortuner with the pajero sport
+Gabriel Jose Garcia Why?
they compare cars based on price range not model
walang 4x2 G o V variant sa australia puro 4x4.
Aye because they're definitely price competitive there...
No surprise. How many Dakars has Mitsi won? I have a jacked up 2013 challenger. The things a beast off road and not all bad on the blacktop. So under rated.
Pajero All The Way
Pajero Sport is nicer then Fortuner bacause the Pajero has more power and more efficient. There is nothing like the Pajero sport I like.
I would've never thought Lil Mitsubishi Could've beat Mighty Toyota at anything.
In terms of running comfort, fuel economy i go montero/pajero sport.
I own a fortuner.... But pajero is a better suv than Fortuner
I own a 2010 Fortuner and pajero...bt I just feel the same power....well Toyota has a better road presence
But the Toyota Fortuner looks SO cool. Atleast better than the Pajero Sport.
Didn't expect the outcome but good and clear. Thanks.
Pajero.....the best suv
In the last episode u concluded fortuner was best but now it's Pajero
u guys confused me again....?
Pajero Sport now has seven-seat option.
CarAdvice.com or Pajero pays you guys more this time?
you're saying they're corrupt bec they disagree with you? lol
Hi Guys,
Just want to know where did you guys film that i would like to take my Pajero up into the bush so please let me know where you guy filmed that.
Thanks Jai
do everest vs pajero
I prefer Toyota Fortuner coz I m having one nd no major problems since 2007
Mitsubishi ftw
Halogen headlights? In India we get full LED headlights and taillights with an electric opening boot
pajero all the way
Realy?
Pajero spprt 2nd row cannot adjust but the leg room in 3rd row is better than the fortuner's normal position
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport The Best !!! 👌💪👍
nope
Love my Pajero/Shogun/Montero Sport 😍
which one has better suspension?
Pajero Sport
+Reggie Mariano for comfy?
Pajero Sports has a better suspension and best off road technology
Space Monkey. Mitsubishi!!! many years off road DNA , better 4x4, better suspension!!! Toyota only cars but mitsubishi is everywhere in the sea land air and space!!! looks mitsubishi heavy industrial, electric, robotics nuclear defence air 5generetion and space!!! very huge company!!! the best machine and engines!!!
they also have an electronics, electric motors like starters & alternators & elevators. The 1st atomic was dropped to Mitsubishi Aircraft Engine factory in hiroshima japan. They are really great brand/make.
Toyota SW4 number one !!! 👍
is there a sunroof in the pajero?
yess in there is,the GT model
Aditya Pareek yeah depends on the variations
Both cars companies, per say, are great and so are their cars. Finally it boils down to value for money, in totality. In totality means, importantly, after sales service and on-road assistance. In India, Mitsubishi is practically non existent in these two critical areas whereas Toyota after sales service and on-road assistance is supremely great, only next to Maruti Suzuki. Besides this, spares too are quite expensive for a Pajero here. So even if the Pajero is slightly cheaper and also has that last bit of technology advantage (maybe) over Fortuner, if you are buying it in India you should go hands down for a Fortuner in this budget category.
it's pajero sport
i wanted a secondary utility car for the family.. where i live the dealer brings some cars with like 2 airbags in front.. with very expensive price tag compared to Pajero .. it's Mind blowing..
i get it.. toyota is the king of "reliability".. sadly.. paying for fully equipped Toyota utility cars like Prado or fortuner is like paying almost a full premium car price.. it almost reaches a point that i might as well better off paying for a full large suv from other brands.. sadly our toyota dealer has the audacity to abuse the brand name and increases their cars by 2000$ per year for no reason.. i feel toyota cars pre-2010 has more value/price.. nowadays it's ridiculous...
finally i decided to get the pajero fully equipped + it has 7 airbags.. i still managed to get it cheaper by 4000 $ compared to starting price of 6 cylinder version of Fortuner ... it even have a better fuel efficiency than the forturer.. i couldn't get over how illogical buying an overpriced fortuner over a pajero.. they both almost identical in terms of their objective for their buyers..
and it's not like other Japanese manufacturer cars will break anytime in the first 5 years.. the peace of mind of driving with radar safety on pajero is even more worth it to get it.. even if both equally priced.. the car managed to help me avoid few collisions in some moments.. saving my time and mind from headaches.. still appreciative it's "value" to this day!
i still dislike it's rear end.. but hey.. it's not like fortuner is the best looking car ever.. or any of toyota lineup anyway.. so it doesn't matter much to me.
How about a pajero sport vs. ford everest?
+Rishabh Sood - sounds like a good plan! Stay tuned.
CarAdvice.com why not use the V variant of fortuner vs PS?
Rotor Venture Do you mean the Crusade variant?
R
I love that caradvice superdry jacket. I dont suppose its available anywhere is it?
Pajero Sport has an excellent suspension and safety features.
Quick question, the trucks are family units did you ever tested with at least 4 people in the car to validate dynamics and suspension, a single driver is not really representative
