ANF - Agitated Nutsche Filter

Agitated Nutsche Filters offer an economic operation where the maximum percentage of liquid in a slurry is separated through mechanical means. The remaining little moisture can be removed by evaporation to obtain dry products.
Advantages:
1) No possibility of atmospheric pollution from toxic fumes/obnoxious smell generated from the slurry.
2) Explosion or fire hazard on account of spillage eliminated.
3) Very high solvent recovery is possible.
4) Very effective washing of cake due to re-slurrying resulting in thorough particulate washing and reduced washes and volume of wash liquor.
5) Possibility of reaction filtration, washing and distillation in the same equipment and even in some cases drying.
