No, he just acquired the technique by some sort of copy but he did not master it as all the two times they went against him (first when they found out and secondly during their last fight, they were always able to repel him. As a duo they pushed the technique to the next level something he could never do on his own and without proper guide on how to use it besides healing his blood sickness, that's mostly what he wanted the technique for anyway not for fighting.
