      @@carholic-sz3qv I think nalvare hit the nail on the head there though - until now, the Asus was basically running against no real competition, but now? This may be slightly smaller, but that DCI-P3 rating, along with the price? I can absolutely see this being a very successful product, quite possibly stealing the majority of the customers from Asus, which will invite other companies to see the available money to be had by competition in the market. Hopefully within a year or 3, we will see several versions available in a range of sizes and prices appearing.

      Any modern iPad would do the same (and im still in an "Apple-Enviroment"), but the prices are crazy, as much i loved my iPad 2 these days, the prices, especially for the Pro variants are MUCH too high priced.
      I tried already Android Tablets, and with a tablet im pretty ok with googles OS, but still its the typical android experience i had already with phones (unstable, laggy, crashing apps)
      On the other hand i would wish more of a crossover between MacOS and iOS on iPads instead of the typical iOS which is also used in the phones (and awesome for them), like this i would probably replace my loved 2010 MacBook Pro with an iPad Pro as "Mac-Alternative", in combination with the wireless stream to a screen over Apple-TV and with mous/kb inputs probably a awesome notebook/tablet "convertible" and therefor also worth 1000$+

    Omg. I immediately backed this. Having a LG CX, I have come to admire oleds. Just as a display I know this wont dissapoint. I have one request. It came with a pressure sensitive stylus. I was wondering if you can show some of that working. Specifically I'd like to see it in action sculpting in Blender or a drawing app like Artrage or Krita or even just Photoshop. I'm really interested in the Stylus and how it responds with the screen. Thanks.

    • @guily6669
      @guily6669 3 года назад

      compared to LG CX I think this monitor will actually disappoint very fast in the fact that colors will shift or burn in fast by being pure RGB oled...
      While LG CX uses blue+white oled and color filter for the colors, with pure RGB oled if used at high brightness it only need a few amount of hours for the blue to start loosing intensity and then the screen shifts color as the blue looses intensity or burn-in...
      In theory for example showing just a white screen the LG CX would get dimmer with time but would always look white and this monitor would start to not look white.
      ps: But sure for now nothing beats a pure RGB OLED display and will have more color than LG OLED TV. Only microled beats it but for now they are all fake and the actual microleds displays that exist which are actually super incredible are super little for AR\VR\projectors like JBD shown a few years ago 1 million nits tiny super high 5000 ppi true microled displays but they are done in silicon wafers like a CPU\GPU so their method of making them sadly wouldn't be good for a monitor size :(

      @@pepperjobs8591 AMOLED sub pixels are true Red, Green and Blue all oled subpixels and all those different colors have very different lifespans being blue the one to die way faster than the other 2...
      LG OLED TV uses blue+yellow OLED panel and to make the colors they use a color filter in front, so it will never look as good as RGB OLED but it's probably a more controllable and more longer lasting when all the pixels are the same, the color will never shift that much as for example the white will remain white even if it loses a slight amount of brightness it will just look slightly burned-in (though to the loss of brightness) but still will look white.
      A RGB oled as soon as the parts mostly using blue sub pixel constantly will make the screen shift colors faster as the blue loses brightness against the green and the red everything will keep looking different, the white will not look white anymore, instead will be a burn-in in a very different color sooner than LG solution.

      I have, enough times to raise an eyebrow in suspicion at this response... you should know better by now if you have! Never, EVER buy a brand new shiny product at full price right on release date. Wait for version 1.1 or whatever they go with when they fix all the bugs discovered by users in the first batch. Stuff they couldn't possibly catch in their internal bug testing, as it only appears periodically, so having a larger database will cause that to happen.
      Don't be one of the poor suckers stuck in a return-repair game because you had faulty adhesive on the touch panel layer that dies in 6 months, or a power regulator that ran just a bit too hot, so now 100% of the screens have a hot "yellow" section in them, or anything else like this. Give it a little time, THEN celebrate if it really is as good as they claim!
      But yes, hopefully it does turn out to be what we've been waiting for, lol. I'm just crossing my fingers for the price to drop to $500, as that's my personal "buy it" point.
      Edit: I do like buying products "on the bleeding edge" for personal use, but I group this one under "professional tools I'll use to make money/for work" rather than something like a video game console, which is absolutely not for work, haha. On THOSE? Sure, go for it. But for anything you buy that you will rely on professionally? Give it time to prove it's stability/reliability.

    You say you already reviewed a lot of portable monitors. I'm new to your channel, so I haven't seen a lot yet
    Which one(s) would you recommend that has these requirements:
    very cheap (less than €80-€90)
    between 5.5 and 10 inch
    completely portable (aka can be powered from power bank).
    Touchscreen is not a requirement (I mean, it's neat if it comes in a cheap screen, but I don't need it, yet).
    Edit to add: it would be to use my raspberry pi 4 while on the train
    2nd Edit to add: A monitor on its own is good enough, I already have a few cases at home and don't want any monitor-cas-combo because I will have too much unused regular cases then.....

    Sure buy for me if it was 17.3 inches. Uperfect has some awesome portable monitors as well. They have QLED 100% DCI-p3 but it was only 1080p at 15.6 inches. I bought a 4K 15.6in from them with 100% Adobe RGB. They ALSO have an OLED 15.6 inch 4K with 100% DCI-P3 and 10 point touchscreen albeit with only 400 nits of brightness. The one I ordered though is also 400 nits but Windows 11 measures it at 460 nits. Unfortunately they didn't have the 17.3 inch version of what I have when I bought mine but at least I have something to look forward to when I inevitably upgrade in about 4 months. lmao.

    There are a couple mistakes with the video. With regards to the on screen display, I think the setting you called HLE was in fact HUE, essentially meaning the colour a monitor will gear towards. Furthermore the video you used to represent the quality of the display was playing at some resolution between 1440p to 720p, as noted by the HD icon on the gear symbol, instead of 4k (as the gear icon would have 4k above it). It would have been great to see what the selfish mode function in the settings for the monitor does, as it is not a widely used function for many monitors.
    For future reference, it would also be nice if you could explain what an OTG port is, as well as clarifying what the PiP (picture in picture) function does.

    • @pepperjobs8591
      @pepperjobs8591 3 года назад

      Hi, "Selfish mode" is actually the charging on/off switch for the connected device, we could rename it to "Charging mode" if that's confusing. :) PIP means showing both the images of the USB-C input and HDMI input simultaneously.
