- With a Mule Deer tag in my pocket I loaded the can-am up and headed north. I didn't know what to expect or what I was even really looking for as I had never been mule deer hunting. Thankfully a weeks weeks ago I had been hunting these same mountains for elk. I became pretty familiar with the terrain and got a few different spots to hit from some buddies up there. The first real day of hunting Jarod tagged out on his monster 3x3 buck. As the week went on it seemed harder and harder to find big bucks. I knew that on the last day my buddy Kris was going to be back in town and would be able to help me spot a good mature buck. Within the first hour of the last day he spotted this amazing 4x4. He was rutting hard and it took a good 20 minutes just to get a clear shot on him from running his does around. The rest is history. I can't thanks Kris enough and I can't wait to get back up there again next year. I hope you all enjoyed this video as much as I did filming it. Please share with family and friends! Just curious is it common for hunters to test every deer they eat for CWD? I ate venison recently without testing it so I was just wondering

Yeah man, so lesson learned- you need make sure you have a tire patch kit; sticky flammable rope deal that you plunge in, light on fire, and it melts & seals the hole. Also, I've been able to get tires like that seated back on the rim with just a small air compressor running off the vehicle's battery. Hopefully the shop helped you sort- will keep you on the trail and save ruining a tire and rim 👍
That back strap you cooked up looked delicious. Also, anyone that says Antelope isn't fantastic, clearly doesn't know how to cook it. Antelope is absolutely fantastic.

When the weather turns cold, mule deer head for the lower valleys, where the food is easier to get to.

Also they come down for the does during rut. But I’m not sure if rut is going on out there I guess.

I agree on the pronghorn backstraps. I told my wife the other day it’s time I planned another trip west for pronghorn, elk, mule deer and my dream hunt a lion.

Thats what she said...when ya filming all alone get a harness for your hat n just use the gopro so dont have to pack so much weight around and have free hands, less stress and hassle.. just a thought, its ok that not be as good quality
Hell, I grew up in CO. That snow is what we call a dusting. I've seen 42 inches fall out of one storm over a 3 day period when I was hunting elk.

Try putting some rosemary in the butter and oil mix and bast over the steak as it cooks, you won't be pissed its absolutely amazing. You may think that it won't make a difference but it does. DO IT!!

You and LFG have got to get rid of the Bighorn tires. They aren’t strong tires, I’ve blown a few out. Switch to a 8-10ply 28-30in tire.

What do you with the ribs? Do you take the meat, yes I know not allot on them, but I do trim them and use for like a meat gravy over rice. Awesome hunting vids by the way
