Ich glaube, daß Ashford dieses Rennen gewonnen hätte, ohne die Verletzung. Aber insgesamt hat Marlies Göhr es verdient Weltmeisterin geworden zu sein. Sie war so gut und konstant, viele Jahre lang.
Der Unterschied ist zu heutigen Zeiten,dass DDR Athleren nie und nimmer an Doping persönlich rangekommen wären,sie hätten individuell nie den Kontakt und die Devisen gehabt ,um es zu zahlen.Es wurde ihnen staatlich gelenkt zugeführt,größtenteils ohne jegliches Wissen.Der Staat könnte es sich nicht leisten ,dass Jemand nicht mitmachte,wenn er es gewusst hätte.Die „Schuld „ lag nicht bei den Athleten,so gerne es mir leid tut.

It was one of the few times that a clean North American athlete beat the drugged up East Germans. If you ever saw Ashford up close and saw her lithe physique you knew she was clean and was just more talented than the East Germans ... and she was super nice as well. A great athlete and well-liked person in the sport.
Evelyn Ashford may be the last of the clean champions. Flo Jo..doped, Fraser-Price...doped, Jeter...doped. The Ashford - Carl Lewis era is the last of the clean sprinters.

I actually watched this race when evelyn ashford pulled up and was like nooooo not today. Was rooting for her 100 percent to win.
