Thanks for watching everyone! More custom parts on the way 👍. Much easier to design some parts with a 3D scan to work off of.

try comparing it with an iphone's lidar scanner

Hey, if you have trouble scanning shining surfaces, mix talcum powder with isopropyl alcohol (about 20:80) and use a spray bottle to mist it onto the part. it will leave a fosted surface that works well with scanners.

Thanks for the video, what is the software you are using to create new parts on top of scanned geometry, like the visor? also what is the name of the FREE 3d scanning software you mentioned in the video ?

Thank you for the review, and it just goes to show, you really do get what you pay for.

Neat! 💯 3D scanning is getting better and better. It still needs to get better though, even for the more expensive ones.

Thank you! Fortunately it seems the tech is improving and becoming more obtainable every year.

Right tool for the right job. Seems this unit would be good for scanning real world items, engines, trannies, rear ends, tools/equipment, barrels, crates, pallets etc that become a future scale offering.

Yes definitely. This is the perfect tool for capturing 1/1 items to reference for smaller scale reproductions. Pictures are great reference, but nothing quite beats a 3D scan that you can "trace over" and view at any angle.

You know there's a 3DMakerpro Mole that is smaller than this one. The Mole seems to be able to scan smaller parts and give you much better detail. Still, thank you for the review, it helps to know the limitations of this scanner.

Could you do a video over the Revopoint Pop 3? I would like to be able to scan model car bodies and then go off and 3d print them… could you make a video showing how you could do a whole model vehicle?

This scanner seems to punch well above its weight! I'm seeing more and more RC projects/builds featuring this device and people are really pushing its limits. 👍

Definitely. It's a great tool for designing well fitting custom parts.

I have been watching your channel and i love it. It is a great source of education and gives me great ideas for model building with my sons. Quick question, how long did it take you to learn fusion 360, do you have any resources to look at. Can you do a video on your computer setup or workshop?

Weird, this look like a Creality CR-Scan 01 and the software is also to same. Yet it is half the price.

It is! Is seems that they manufactured it for Creality.
